WATCH: ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Trailer: Unintelligible Bane & Catwoman’s Occupy Wall Street Warning

The Dark Knight Rises

Christopher Nolan‘s latest take in the Batman mythos is still months away from hitting the big screen but the first theatrical trailer has appeared to whet our appetite for more.

The Dark Knight Rises trailer is causing massive buzz among fans already.

Tom Hardy gets his mask on as the super villain Bale and while he’s evil and menacing, many are complaining of having trouble understanding what he says thanks to that mask. (For the record, I don’t think it was that bad. It was a bit garbled for a moment but nothing terrible.)

One of the more intriguing aspects of the storyline is the warning Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) delivers to Bruce Wayne/Batman (Christian Bale.)

Nolan was rumored to have wanted to shoot scenes in Zuccotti Park in New York City where the Occupy Wall Street protesters are located but that didn’t happen. Instead it looks like the director is letting Catwoman voice the sentiments of the people taking part in the ongoing demonstration.

“A storm is coming, Mr. Wayne,” Kyle whispers in Bruce’s ear. “You and your friends better batten down the hatches because when it hits, you’re all going to wonder how you ever thought how you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us”

Add that to Bane’s destruction of the football field – taking out the pricey athletes and coaches – not the everyday Joe sitting in the stands – and this film just might have more political undertones to it than your normal superhero summer blockbuster studio fare.

But Nolan isn’t known for taking the average route.

WATCH: Joseph Gordon-Levitt Cover Of Nirvana’s ‘Lithium’

How much do you love Joseph Gordon-Levitt?

It should be lots and if it isn’t hopefully this will sway you to the amazingness that is JGL.

The 500 Days of Summer actor was in Seattle at the Neptune Theater for a show put together by hitRECord, the website and artist collaborative that Gordon-Levitt runs.

Paying homage to Kurt Cobain‘s musical genius in the city where he and Nirvana launched worldwide in the 90s, Joseph grabs a guitar and the mic and delivers a darn great cover of “Lithium” to the crowd’s roaring approval at the opening notes.

“I gotta say, it doesn’t matter to me,” the actor said referring to Cobain’s suicide, mid-way through his performance. “It doesn’t matter that he’s dead, it doesn’t matter how he died. His songs are f*cking awesome, that’s what matters.”

Gordon-Levitt next projects are 50/50 with Seth Rogen and Anna Kendrick and The Dark Knight Rises with Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway.

New ’50/50′ Trailer With Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen

Here’s the trailer for the upcoming movie  film 50/50 starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen.

While this trailer has it’s funny moments, it’s more depressing than anything. Maybe the final product won’t be a downer, but this trailer isn’t helping the movie look that way. I really like Joseph Gordon-Levitt as an actor, so he’s really the only draw for me in this movie. Having dealt with cancer quite a bit over the years probably adds to my general lack of interest in this one.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in ‘Dark Knight Rises’, As Robin the Boy Wonder?

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been officially cast in the upcoming mega-sequel The Dark Knight Rises, conflicting stories say different things about the character he will be playing. Will he play Robin the Boy-Wonder? Variety reported Gordon-Levitt’s official casting along with the character their source thought he would play, but then Entertinament Weekly wrote this on Monday:

A source close to the situation says that recent reports that Gordon-Levitt will play Alberto Falcone (a.k.a. the Holiday Killer) — the son of former mob kingpin, Carmine Falcone (Tom Wilkinson) — are incorrect. So, Batman fans: Begin the re-speculation now!

Out of all the possible characters, the most doubtful in the minds of many would be Robin. But look at how the people close enough to the production don’t even know the facts. If Christopher Nolan decided to add Robin to the story I’m sure he’d manage to take the character to a coolness level that nobody thought possible. Lets see what really happens, in any case I’m glad Gordon-Levitt is involved.

Seth Rogen Tries to Bring Comedy to Cancer With ’50/50′

Seth Rogen is set to star along side Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the upcoming drama/comedy 50/50.

The drama known in previous incarnations as I’m With Cancer and Live With It, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt as a young man coping with the illness and Seth Rogen as his best friend, has been retitled 50/50, and set for a September 30 release date according to The Wrap.

This one really does sound like a hard pill to swallow.  I think Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a very underrated actor, I think he’ll pull off this role quite well. I think of some of his scenes in 500 Days of Summer and I’m reminded of his ability to bring comedy into some sad subject matter. Seth Rogen seems less fit for the role, but I’m sure he’s capable. Being able to laugh in the face of adversity is so important, hopefully this movie will be a good reminder of that.

Inception Poster

Here’s the first poster for the upcoming film Inception from Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan.

This movie is bound to be good, Christopher Nolan hasn’t had a miss yet. It seems like it has elements of noir and crime/thriller with the spice of sci-fi all over. I’m really looking forward to this one, Nolan‘s work is always a treat.

‘G.I. Joe’ Sequel Preparing to Suit Up

gijoe1

A sequel to G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra is definitely on its way, soon.

Paramount Picture’s vice chairman, Rob Moore, confirmed to the Los Angeles Times that a sequel “will soon go into development.” According to the report, all of the movie’s lead actors are “contractually obligated to return for another film,” though director Stephen Sommers is not.

The movie already made over $100 million world wide, you know that’s enough success to start up a sequel. Besides the movie’s title in itself practically calls for a sequel.
