Julianne Hough got the part she was trying for!  The Dancing With The Stars beauty is going to star in Footloose opposite Chace Crawford.    Julianne is thrilled about this project.

“I am a huge fan! Who’s not a huge fan of all those dance musical movies? They’re the best!”

This movie won’t be underway until spring, so Julianne will be teaming up with Venus Embrace (razors) to write a book of advice for young girls, The Goddess Guide To Getting Closer.  That’s quite a play on words, now isn’t it?  LOL.

Congrats to you, Julianne!  Can’t wait to see the movie!

Though Julianne Hough has reportedly landed the lead female role in the upcoming remake of Footloose, she may already be on her way out the door. Turns out, she sucks at acting!

“[Her audition] was so bad, the producers sent her off to take acting classes,” an insider told The Post. “She’s scheduled for another screen test Aug. 1. They definitely like her, but the producers know they need a real actress for the movie to work — she’s a pretty girl who can sing and dance, but so was Mariah Carey, and we all know how Glitter turned out.”

Um, yeh. The girl definitely has chops and is a killer dancer, but why can’t she just stick with that? Why do all these Hollywood people have to push their luck and not just be happy with what they have? I don’t think a few summer acting classes are going to put her in contention to be a good enough actress for a major movie, but whatever.

Julianne Hough is a busy, busy girl. Not only is she one of America’s favorite professionals on Dancing with the Stars, but her country music career has taken off… When does she have time for boyfriend Chuck Wicks?

Now she’s been offered the lead female role in the remake of Footloose, already starring Chace Crawford! If she accepts, it will be her first film role, making her a major triple threat in the biz.

“Julianne Hough has been offered the part in Footloose, and it is contingent on scheduling,” a Paramount Studio rep confirmed on Friday afternoon.

She would have to be a total moron not to take this role. Hopefully we will be seeing her on the silver screen really soon!

It’s another battle of the blondes in today’s fashion face-off! Hot young country stars Julianne Hough and Kellie Pickler hit the red carpet at the CMA Awards looking fierce,but in very different ways.

‘Dancing with the Stars‘ professional turner crooner Julianne Hough chose an age-appropriate, fun and flirty pink mini dress with an open back and lots of layers. The ‘American Idol‘ finalist, Kellie Pickler, went with a sexier, long sheer black gown with a plunging neck line full of embellishment (to accent those boobies FOX helped pay for).

No, this is not a trick. Julianne Hough will still be absent from the next season of Dancing with the Stars, but she has now made it clear that it won’t be a permanent move.

“I am appreciative to be taking this coming season of Dancing with the Stars off to focus on my other career paths like touring in support of my album and recording my next one. I look forward to returning to DWTS in early 2010.”

Derek Hough also recently announced that he and fellow professional dancer and bandmate, Mark Ballas, might be leaving to pursue a music career, also. I wonder how Mark’s victory with Shawn Johnson on last night’s show will affect that decision.

They may bring some crazy chemistry to the dance floor as partners on Dancing with the Stars, but Chuck Wicks is denying speculation that he will propose to girlfriend Julianne Hough on the show.

“I’m going to be the rumor-buster.  I promise you I will not propose to Julianne on the show,” said Wicks during a Monday morning interview with Valentine on his 104.3MYfm radio show.  “We’ve been together almost a year now and we have a great relationship.  We definitely always talk about what’s in the future and the next step.  Of course we’ve talked about marriage and everything else because we’re definitely in love and we definitely love what we’re doing.”

“A lot of people thought us dancing together on the show was going to cause a lot of friction and negative vibe.  But it’s actually done quite the opposite,” he told Valentine.  “We have found out so much more about each other.  Just when you think you know somebody, start working with them and then you’ll find out something totally new about them and it’s great.”

I love this couple! They are so cute and sweet to each other. I definitely thought them working together so much might work against their relationship, but they seem to be just growing closer. I am glad they are taking their time and being mature about the future (even though Chuck just recently said a proposal was coming soon). We wish them all the best!!!

Despite butting heads from time to time in rehearsals for Dancing with the Stars, country music artist Chuck Wicks says he and his dancing girlfriend partner Julianne Hough will be engaged soon!

“We definitely talk about it. It’s definitely in the future,” Wicks told tvguide.com in a recent interview. “It’s one of those things where it’s supposed to be a surprise! I’ll tell you this — I’m not going to do it on the show, but it’s not like we don’t talk about it or think about it or we don’t know that that’s the next step. All in due time.”

Despite being only 18 years old at the time of her Dancing debut, Hough was already engaged to Zach Wilson, whom she had been dating for a year and had met in Salt Lake City when she was only 9 years old and he was 14 years old. However their relationship failed to survive Hough’s newfound fame.  After calling off her August 2007 wedding to Wilson off three months before it was set to occur but insisting they were still together, the couple later split for good.

Maybe Chuck and Julianne will be the next Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, or Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood…. Well, probably not, but they sure are cute!

Julianne Hough announced in November that she would not be returning to Dancing with the Stars so that she could focus on her music career. Her peers thought it was a big mistake, but turns out she did have a pretty good reason for coming back- she gets to dance with her man!!! She explains more here:

�It was a last minute deal. I was set on taking this season off and then last minute the show asked me to do it because they had asked Chuck to do it and they thought it would be cool if we danced together,” the gorgeous professional wrote.

�At first I still said no because I wanted to focus on my music,� she added, �BUT then I thought about it for a day and figured this out. I can still write, go on tour and work on Julianne Hough the country singer because Chuck will be my partner and that will be a huge luxury.�

Of course, the fact that she gets to compete with the guy she spends all her time with anyway isn’t fair, but I guess it makes for good television!

Two-time Dancing with the Stars champion turned professional country singer Julianne Hough is getting ready for a big night. She will be singing at Atlanta’s Peach Drop New Year’s Eve celebration.

The Atlanta Journal says that she is headlining the show and will hit the stage 30 minutes before the 800 pound fiberglass-and-foam Georgia Peach is dropped to ring in 2009.

I don’t know that Hough’s country music will fit into the culture of Atlanta the best, but good luck to her!

The prettiest young couple in country music, Julianne Hough and Chuck Wicks, are on the road to marriage. The pairing of 5 months spoke with ET about their future together and how they felt when they first met.

�We definitely want to go there,� Julianne told People about the possibility of marriage. �The minute we met it was perfect. The first date we had we both had that feeling like we were going to fall in love with each other.� she replied.

Julianne and Chuck met this summer while touring with Brad Paisely. The couple even spent Thanksgiving with Julianne�s family in Las Vegas (minus Derek who was in New York). Chuck told ET that being there, �was big for me. She has the best family I�ve met in the world. They just like to have a good time.�

Chuck apparently fit in at the Thanksgiving festivities. �He�s definitely part of the family,everybody loves him to death,� Hough said. She also added, �He�s as big of a dork as we are.�

I am so happy for them. I know a lot of people will say that people can’t know after just 5 months together that they should be married, but my husband and I knew after less than a month and it was the best decision we have ever made. Our whirlwind romance has turned into a beautiful life, and I wish that for Julianne and Chuck, too!!

Whoopsy. Another case of a celebrity saying something she probably shouldn’t. Who was it this time? Julianne Hough, aspiring country music star and ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ two time champ.

“I may have put my foot in my mouth when I said I wasn’t going to come back next season,” Hough told Entertainment Tonight last week. “I just meant that maybe I’ll come back next season, maybe I won’t.”

“We’re still talking about it and everything,” Julianne added.� “So yeah, I said I might have put my foot in my mouth.”

I’m sure die-hard DWTS fans will be very glad to hear this. Personally, I have no idea how she could do it all, but she’s young. More power to her!

Looks like the Dancing with the Stars professionals have more to say about their fellow dancers. Because the hooplah about Cheryl Burke’s weight wasn’t enough, now they are criticizing Julianne Hough’s career choices.

Dancing with the Stars professionals Edyta Sliwinska and Alec Mazo both questioned the 20-year-old dancer-turned-singer’s decision to�dump the ABC reality dancing competition in order to focus on her blossoming music career, E! News reported�Monday.

“Obviously I understand her thinking, she wants to be separated from dancing, she wants people to think of her as a singer,” Sliwinska told E! News while attending a Christmas tree lighting at The Grove shopping complex in Los Angeles on Sunday. “But I think that the show brought her up, the show is where she started and I think she should maintain that�audience from Dancing with the Stars as well as her new audience that she’s gained from singing. If I was her, I would be doing both.”

Mazo agreed and warned Hough to be careful about her decisions and how others may perceive them.

“I think she needs to be a little bit more careful about how she represents herself,” Mazo said, according to E! News. “That’s her fan base and you wanna make sure that you have a good relationship with everybody. The last thing you want to say is ‘I’m not coming back.’ It’s an ultimatum. You don’t wanna do that.”

Ok, the chick is following her dreams. Maybe her fans should follow her and these dancers should get over themselves. They may be one trick ponies, but Julianne’s not.

Julianne Hough’s first love has apparently always been singing, and now she’s speaking about her future as a country music artist, and leaving her dancing shoes behind.

In fact, after Thanksgiving, Hough, 20, plans to go to Nashville to record and settle into her new place. She just bought a condo down there.

�I�m so excited to go back,� said Hough. �Get ready for the next record, start writing, going on tour, [and] promoting this record.� Her self-titled debut CD, Julianne Hough, hit #1 on Billboard�s Country Album chart. That played a role in her hanging up the dancing shoes.

Does she miss Dancing with the Stars?

�I�m sad to say that I don�t really, but I�m sure I probably will when the show comes around next season,� said Julianne of missing the ballroom.

Julianne Hough has announced that her days at the show are over, at least for now… And the entire young male demographic was lost on Dancing with the Stars.

“I won’t be on Dancing this spring season. I don’t know about the fall. Maybe, maybe not. We’ll see,” the beautiful professional wrote in her blog. “I’m definitely going to focus on the music. My first album was a learning experience, and I can’t wait for the next one. I feel like the writing and producing will be even better, really awesome.”

And as to who she thinks should win the whole thing?

“I hope [Brooke Burke and Derek Hough] win. I think they deserve to win,” she said. “From day one, they’ve been awesome. I think Brooke is the most technically sound of the celebrities and she’s a beautiful dancer.”

I guess family loyalty stretches farther than family rivalry. Best of luck to Julianne in her musical endeavors.
