Kate Winslet gets comfy (and sultry) on the couch of a New York penthouse for the latest round of ads for St John.

The British actress leans back in a grey silk wrap dress after pouring over scripts in the new spring 2012 ads for the fashion house shot by photographer Craig McDean.

“What I love too is the lines are a lot more relaxed, and yet at the same time they still give shape, so you get those lovely feminine curves, which to me are very, very important,” Winslet says of the collection in a behind-the-scenes video.

The Mildred Pierce actress talks up the brand’s appeal to lots of women of different sizes.

“You don’t have to be a size 2 or even a size 4 to be able to wear these garments because they fall so well, they’re cut for women with a shape, and of course I love that,” she says. “That’s me all over.”

Stunning Kate Winslet graces the cover of Harper’s Bazaar UK for the November issue looking like a combination of Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor with her hair and 60s style eye liner.

The actress is breaking her year-long silence on the subject of her split and divorce from director Sam Mendes and how it affected her.

“One thing I will say about me and Sam is that it’s fine, it’s really fine,” Winslet said. “We’re grown-ups at the end of the day, and however hard it’s been for me, it’s been equally hard for him.”

“As a woman, especially when you have children, one gets so good at soldiering on – almost too good,” she revealed. “Because you know what it’s like – as soon as you open that can of worms, it’s so f***ing big, you wish you’d never taken the goddamn lid off.”

The Mildred Pierce actress said that despite the heartache, she feels that she has new adventures waiting for her.

“I do truly feel that I’m back,” Winslet shared. “I feel that I’m just at the beginning of a new narrative, and it’s incredibly exciting. It’s complicated, I know, and uncertain – but it’s where life happens, between the cracks. It can be a painful process, but I truly hope that never stops for me.”

Kate Winslet was a knockout on the red carpet the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards at the Nokia Theatre LA Live in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 18th.

The Contagion actress wore the hot color of the night:  red. Her gorgeous dress by Elie Saab had a v-neck and cap sleeves and she paired it with simple accessories – drop earrings and a simple bangle. Perfection!

Winslet, 35, landed an award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Movie or Miniseries for her work on HBO‘s Mildred Pierce.

Kate Winslet is simply perfect as Elizabeth Taylor for V magazine‘s September/October Heroes issue.

The 35 year-old actress is photographed by Mario Testino and styled by Carine Roitfeld as the stunning violet-eyed Hollywood legend.

Winslet spoke about Taylor and how what she found remarkable about the late actress.

“There was a real fearlessness in her. Which in old Hollywood perhaps didn’t feel quite as prevalent. Now, actors and actresses can bend the rules a lot. Back then, there didn’t seem to be a rule book, and there was some expectation in terms of how glamorous a woman should look. There is sort of a coolness and aloofness to the way [Elizabeth Taylor] would look in posed photographs. In candid snapshots she was really quite soft, and she would really screw up her face. I do that as well.”

Kate also shared how she actually loathes nude scenes, even though she seems to find herself in them rather frequently.

“I hate it! Listen make no mistake, I just get on it. I just go in and say ‘Oh f**k’ let’s do it.’ and Boom. If you complain about it or procrastinate it’s not going to go away. Its a profoundly bizarre thing to do. As actors you talk about it all the time. You can literally be tangled in sheets, and you turn to the other actor and say ‘What the f*ck are we doing?’ Dear Mum, at work today I had so-and-so’s left nut sack pressed against my cheek. It’s sort of unethical if you think about it in those terms.”

Well, Kate. That was unexpected!

Kate Winslet and her children were vacationing on Sir Richard Branson‘s private island when a fire broke out.

The 35 year-old actress and her daughter Mia, 10 and son Joe, 7 were among the guests staying at the Virgin Group mogul’s exclusive resort when the flames began.

Branson said that Winslet helped his 90 year-old mother get to safety as well.

“My mum is 90 and can walk, but it was more just to speed the process up than anything else. But anyway, she was great. She swept her up into her arms and got them out of the house as fast as possible,” Branson told The Telegraph.

Everyone was able to get out safe, including Branson’s mother Eve, daughter Holly Branson and about 20 more family members.

Branson also noted that he lost thousands of personal photographs and notebooks. He also said that while there is extensive damage, he wants to rebuild “something even better” and be able to keep the staff employed.

The cause of the blaze is believed to have been started by a lightning strike from Hurricane Irene.

Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin are both likely starring in the upcoming film Labor Day.

Kate Winslet will be set shortly to star in Labor Day, the adaptation of the Joyce Maynard novel that was scripted and will be directed by Jason Reitman…

…a single mother of a young son who takes in a stranger with a dangerous past. She falls in love with him over the course of Labor Day Weekend.

…Josh Brolin’s reps tell me he will be in the movie, too, playing the guy who engages in the weekend affair with Kate Winslet’s character…

This is all early news, hopefully it doesn’t fall through. Sounds like a great duo for this story, not to mention it sounds like a compelling one. I absolutely love Kate Winslet, she’s one of the few actors who I’d watch a movie for the simple fact that she’s in it. Brolin is great too, so this movie has already piqued my curiosity.

Kate Winslet takes over the ad duties from Karen Elson (who nabbed the role from Angelina Jolie) for St. John Knitwear.

The 35 year-old actress had her photo shoot for the company last month and the first image has hit the web with Kate looking very glamorous in a retro Jersey City theater.

They want to keep it looking like me and not have it look like me pretending to be a model wearing these clothes,” said Winslet of the concept. “I’m obviously not a model. I’m not the size of a model. I don’t have the face of a model or the shape of a model.”

Wearing a dark gray, figure hugging dress, a smoky background and lounging on a dresser, Winslet almost appears as if she’s going to cough in her sleeve from all that fog behind her. Darn good thing she’ll have that fur blanket to shield her!

I don’t know what this ad is trying to tell me, what lifestyle it’s trying to sell, but I ain’t buying. Although Kate looks smashing!

Oscar winning actress Kate Winslet is taking on another ad campaign. This time for St John.

Winslet, who is one of Lancome’s famous faces, has just completed a photo shoot with Craig McDean for the brand. The ads will appear in magazines in the fall.

St. John’s is working with Winslet just one year after the company parted ways with Angelina Jolie, because as the label head Glenn McMahon said Jolie “overshadowed” the company.

Karen Elson, model and wife of White Stripes‘ musician Jack White, was the interim face of the fashion label after Jolie.

Winslet is also a brand ambassador for the luxury Swiss watch brand Longines.

Kate Winslet sat down with her kids to watch a gag reel from the production of Mildred Pierce made just for her and she had to turn it off right away!

When she first saw it, she said “I thought Well, I can show the children this!”

The 35 year-old actress sat down with the ladies of The View to talk about her “potty mouth” and how the fun little surprise made just for her, really does need to stay for her eyes only for a while.

When she first received the video, she said “I thought I can show the children this!” Winslet said she loves “the behind-the-scenes stuff” and they are great memories for her of her time filming.

“It’s all those silly bits, when mistakes happen, behind-the-scenes …put it on …three seconds later off!” Winslet said as she realized quickly what it was all about.

She says her kids, Joe, 7, and Mia, 10, aren’t ready for “hearing mummy say things they’ve never heard mummy say before.”

The British actress also talks about ‘the obsessive love’ that her character Mildred, has for her daughter, Vida, played by Evan Rachel Wood and how Vida just turns on her.

Evan Rachel Wood showed off her new honey blonde hair at the New York premiere of Mildred Pierce on Monday night and the actress had a very interesting topic for reporters.

The actress, who chose a plum colored Elie Saab dress for the red carpet said her costar, Kate Winslet acted as a sort of nudity coach for her and that she had to don a merkin, a hair piece for her vajayjay, for time period authenticity.

“Let’s just say, I had to wear a wig because it was in the 30s, and everything had to look like it was in the 30s,” Evan Rachel explained.

But doing a full frontal nude scene was intimidating and the actress needed encouragement from her costar.

She contined, “I looked at Kate and she was like, ‘You’ve got to do it. Trust me, it’s so brave. Put a merkin on and you’ll be fine.’”
