Keira Knightley 2011 Jameson Empire Film Awards

Keira Knightley attended the 2011 Jameson Empire Film Awards at the Grosvenor House in London on Sunday, March 27th.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actress chose a nude frilly Rodarte Spring 2011 frock with cut out shoulder details and peter pan collar and black pumps for the event.

Knightley was presented the Hero award by James McEvoy and the 26 year-old said it was a great present for her birthday.

“It was my birthday yesterday, so I want to thank Empire for such a brilliant birthday present; to be made a hero on your 26th birthday is fantastic,” Knightley said.

“I want to thank my agent, who’s here tonight. Also, I’m well up for a birthday snog, so please come and find me on table 14! Thank you!” she quipped.

Keira Knightley & Viggo Mortensen Premiere ‘A Dangerous Method’ At TIFF

Keira Knightley and Viggo Mortensen walked the red carpet at Roy Thompson Hall of the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival for the premiere their film A Dangerous Method.

Knightley, 26, wore a lovely, lacy, backless, pale peach colored dress from Elie Saab Couture. She paired the look with matching Miu Miu heels and minimal accessories. Love Keira’s look!

The two stars were at a press conference earlier in the day talking about the film.

“The most positive aspect of what Freud fathered was the idea of listening. One of the most loving things you can do is listen to someone,” Moretnsen, 52, said of his character in the film, Sigmund Freud.

“It was a very challenging role and I think that was one of the reasons why I really wanted to play her because I really didn’t know who she was,” the British actress said of her character Sabine Spielrein.

A Dangerous Method costars Michael Fassbender, Vincent Cassel and Sarah Gadon and was directed by David Cronenberg. It opens in theaters November 23rd.

Keira Knightley Keeps It Casual In Venice

Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley wowed crowds and fashion watchers at the Venice Film Festival with her bold, floral print dress at the photocall for A Dangerous Method.    The next day, however, she was spotted rocking a more simple look:  a navy shirtdress and brown loafers with a coordinating belt.

Keira’s recent admission that she’s “a bit boyish” was the first thing that came to mind when I saw these photos.  I’ve got to say, though, that it’s totally working for her here.

See more Keira after the jump.

Keira Knightley At ‘A Dangerous Method’ Photocall

Keira Knightley stepped out for a photocall at the 68th Venice Film Festival in Italy for her latest film A Dangerous Method.

The 26 year-old actress chose a lovely multi-print silk dress from the Mary Katrantzou Fall 2011 collection. She paired it with nude heels and wore her hair in a super sharp bob.

Knightley said she prepared for her role as a patient of Carl Jung‘s (played by Michael Fassbender) using a variety of background materials, including chatting with therapists.

“It was biography, translations of books and notes, [her characher, Sabina Spielrein's] diaries. I spoke to psychoanalysts as well,” Knightley said.

A Dangerous Method, directed by David Cronenberg, is the story of Jung (Fassbender) and Sigmund Freud (Viggo Mortensen) and psychoanalysis in it’s infancy. The two men’s differences in method begin to pull them apart and when Jung takes on Sabine’s (Knightley) case of hysteria, the split is intensified.

The film opens November 23rd.

Keira Knightley Admits “I’m A Bit Boyish” To Marie Claire Australia

Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley appears on the cover of the Australian edition of Marie Claire for September 2011.    She’s got a new, short haircut that I really like on her.  It’s got a 1920s flapper feel, very appropriate for someone who doesn’t view herself as terribly feminine.

She told the magazine about her signature style.

“If I had to say I’d go with boyish chic. I’ve definitely got a bit of boyish. I was a tomboy. I didn’t wear skirts until I was 14. I hated them. I love a man’s shirt.”

That’s not why she cut her hair, though.

“They had asked me to cut it for a movie and I said, ‘No, you can do it with a wig.’ But then I’d been thinking about cutting it so, you know, we had a glass of champagne and we were still talking about it, then another glass, and by the third glass my hair was cut off.”

Oh no!  Drunken haircuts, never a good idea.   But she doesn’t regret it.

“Not at all, which is kind of amazing because I thought I would. But it’s so easy. Wash it. Go. Perfect.”

Keira Knightley Says She Doesn’t Like ‘The Safe Options’

Finding risks and taking chances romantic, actress Keira Knightley went back to live theater in London this year and loves every second of it.

“I don’t like the safe options. I like things that have a 50-50 chance of me falling on my face,” she told Flaunt magazine for June.

“I like the magic when it actually comes together and people enjoy it, but the magic is only there because of the distinct possibility of failure. I find that romantic in a funny kind of way.”

The 26 year-old does admit that as hard as she tries, sometimes the critics get to her.

“I think you do have to try and get a thick skin,” Knightley shared. “And sometimes, the skin goes incredibly thin and everything gets in, and everything hurts, and other times, you’re able to turn around and laugh at it and go, ‘You know what? It’s all fine. It’s all good. It’s cool.”

“It sort of depends on what day of the week it is.”

WATCH: Keira Knightley In Chanel ‘Coco Mademoiselle’ Short

Keira Knightley gets frisky with Argentine hunk Alberto Amman in the short film Coco Mademoiselle.

The actress is a Chanel daredevil on a motorbike through the streets of Paris in the clip directed by Pride & Prejudice helmer Joe Wright.

The 25 year-old is sensuous, glamorous and fabulous with sexy glances as she entices her photographer with zippers being peeled back to show a little skin.

“It’s A Man’s, Man’s World” is her soundtrack but Coco Mademoiselle owns her life.

Mr. Amman – what a sexy surprise he is!

Keira Knightley and ‘Basterds’ Christoph Waltz Join Cronenberg’s ‘Talking Cure’

Keira KnightleyChristoph Waltz

Keira Knightley, Christoph Waltz and Michael Fassbender have signed on to star in David Cronenberg‘s new thriller The Talking Cure.

Keira Knightley, Michael Fassbender and Christoph Waltz have apparently joined David Cronenberg’s long-gestating thriller “The Talking Cure” for Hanway Films.

The story revolves around famed psychoanalyst Carl Jung’s relationship with a young Russian girl driven mad by her past and who became his first patient, and Jung’s esteemed mentor and father of modern psychology Sigmund Freud.

Love Cronenberg‘s work and Christoph Waltz blew me away in Inglourious Basterds so I’m really looking forward to hearing more about this project. Carl Jung came up with some incredibly deep concepts of archetypes.

Keira Knightley is the New ‘My Fair Lady’

keira_knightley1_300_400

There’s a remake underway of My Fair Lady and Keira Knightley is playing the lead.

Mandrake hears that the 24-year-old actress has beaten Scarlett Johansson to the part of Eliza Doolittle in a new film adaptation of My Fair Lady.

Her victory comes as I can disclose that Joe Wright, who inspired Knightley to her best performance, in Pride and Prejudice, has been chosen to direct the film.

“Joe and Keira are looking forward to working together again immensely,” says a friend of the 37-year-old director.

Remakes are inevitable, this movie has already been on stage and screen in different incarnations in the past. There’s also a rumor that Daniel Craig may end up playing Henry Higgins, the other lead. Could make for some entertaining stuff.
