Kim Kardashian and People magazine made a deal for a reported $1.5 million for exclusive licensing rights to the photos of her wedding extravaganza.

For the cover, the mag chose to “lose” her husband, Kris Humphries and go with a solo shot of Kim K, drawing criticism.

Assistant editor Jen Garcia defended the choice saying it’s really about the bride, the dress and well, Humphries is just too tall, darn it.

“It’s all about the bride. We wanted her. It’s her day, we wanted her on the cover,” said Garcia.

“He’s got a little height on her,” added Garcia of the New Jersey Nets forward. “It’s kind of tough to get them in the [same] shot.”

The magazine has 11 pages of Kardashian/Humphries info, including Kim’s three wedding gowns by Vera Wang and to entice readers to pick up a copy, they are offering a $1.00 off coupon.

Hey, with interest waning in Kim – they’ve got to recoup their finances somehow.

Had enough Kim Kardashian-Kris Humphries wedding buzz yet?  You better get used to it:  E! is going to drag this one out for the next two months or so until they air Kim’s wedding special.

To whet your appetite, they’ve released a short clip with some highlights from the event.   You can get a glimpse of Kim’s wedding gown as well as her mom Kris Jenner‘s mother of the bride dress, the rather tacky (in my opinion) altar, and the looooong aisle.  My favorite part?  Kim’s nephew, Mason Disick, serving as the ring bearer.  He’s just too cute!

Kim Kardashian‘s nuptials has one thing similar to Kate Middleton‘s royal wedding – they each had a little of their fashion thunder stolen on their big day.

Kate’s younger sister and bridesmaid Pippa Middleton, got noticed for the peacock green Temperley London dress with plunging neckline, gathered and embellished at the waist.

Kim’s wedding guest, Lindsay Lohan, chose the same fancy frock in white (Kardashian asked guests to wear white or black for the ceremony.)

There’s a couple more differences: Pippa wore her hair pulled back in the front but down in the back, Lindsay kept her bangs down and had the rest of her hair swept back in an updo.

My fellow BSC writer gossipmonkey and I agree: P Middy looked her age – mid 20s. LiLo somehow manages to look older than her mom…

One dress, two very different outcomes.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries were married today, August 20, in Montecito, California.

The entire Kardashian-Jenner family seemed to have a role in the wedding.

Kim was attended by her sisters Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian as co-maids of honor.  Younger sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner served as bridesmaids along with Humphries’ sister Kaela.   Brother Robert Kardashian was a groomsman, and Kourtney’s son Mason Disick, just 20 months old, was the ring bearer.  Kim’s stepfather Bruce Jenner walked her down the aisle.

The couple’s 440 guests included many well-known Hollywood figures, including Mario Lopez, Demi Lovato, Eva Longoria, Ryan Seacrest, Melanie Brown, Avril Lavigne, Sugar Ray Leonard, Greta Van Sustren, Venus and Serena Williams, and  Dina, Ali and Lindsay Lohan.   Vera Wang, who made Kim’s wedding gown, also attended.

Wang actually made three dresses for Kim’s big day.   The wedding gown featured a full tulle skirt and Chantilly lace appliques.   For the reception, Kim wore two very different dresses:  a mermaid-style with more Chantilly lace, and a V-neck bias cut number with a circle skirt.   All three dresses were ivory.

The entire extravaganza will be revealed in a two-part E! special, Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event, in October.

Apparently, one massive wedding extravaganza in Montecito isn’t enough for Kim Kardashian.  She and her groom Kris Humphries will be celebrating their marriage all over again in New York City on August 31.

The founder of Niche Media, Jason Binn, will co-host the party with wedding planner Colin Cowie.  Binn Tweeted the news:

“NY Wedding celebration! @KimKardashian, @KrisHumphries – @colincowie & I are so excited to host”

To me, this sounds like another filming opportunity for Keeping Up With The Kardashians, but perhaps that’s just me being cynicial.

Did you hear that tomorrow’s wedding is estimated to cost $10 million?  Their cake alone is $20,000 and no wonder:  it’s supposedly a copy of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge‘s wedding cake.  Evidently Kim can’t be upstaged by anyone, not even Prince William and Kate Middleton.  Sick, sick, sick.

Kim Kardashian hit up the red carpet of the 2011 Do Something Awards held at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 14th.

The 30 year-old reality TV star is only a week away from her wedding and opted for a white dress for this event as well. Kim chose a long, curve-accentuating dress with cap sleeves and silver details.

Kardashian introduced Demi Lovato‘s performance at the ceremony. The two sat next to each other and tweeted back and forth.

“Just a bit Hollywood LOL but I luv tweeting sitting next 2 u RT @ddlovato: @KimKardashian love you! #tweetingnexttoyou #sohollywoodofme haha,” Kim said to Demi.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star is set to marry her basketball star fiance, Kris Humphries, on Saturday, August 20th.

It might be partly fictionalized, it might not but one thing it has for sure – a leopard print cover. Ugh.

Kim Kardashian and her sisters Khloe and Kourtney are expanding the family’s $65 million empire with Dollhouse, a novel penned by the ladies about a family in the spotlight…

“The novel is based on our lives but we’ve added a lot of crazy fictional twists and turns. You’ll have to decide for yourself which story lines are true to life, and which ones we dreamed up. LOL,” Kim K. said on her blog when the book was announced in May.

A contest was held with fans to choose the name and Kim announced the winner, Courtney Powell, will be featured in the upcoming tome.

The book gets a November 1st release.

Bigger news is just around the corner for the Kardashian clan. Kim’s wedding to Kris Humphries is set to take place on August 20th.

The new magazine World’s Most Beautiful Launch Event was held at Drai’s in Beverly Hills with the debut issue cover model, Kim Kardashian at the party.

The soon-to-be-married reality TV star and her brother, Robert Kardashian, hit the shindig with other celebs like Michael Lohan, Cassie Scerbo and Pussycat Dolls choreographer Robin Antin.

Kim, 30, revealed she hightailed it to New York for a very quick, round-trip, last minute fitting with wedding dress designer Vera Wang.

“I took the red-eye at midnight, landed at eight in the morning in New York, ran to Vera Wang for a dress fitting at 10 a.m., and then left at noon on another flight out,” Kardashian said.

“So I was literally in for an hour, back out. I spent like 11 hours on a plane just to spend three hours in New York.” But “it was so worth it,” she added of her whirlwind trip.

Kim’s wedding to Kris Humphries is set for August 20th. Tonight she appears on Lifetime as a guest judge on tonight’s episode (Thursday, August 11th) of Project Runway.

Kim Kardashian is busy planning her wedding, which is coming up so quickly (August 20) that you just have to wonder if she didn’t have certain details worked out even before she had a groom or a ring on her finger.

Actually, you don’t have to wonder, because she just admitted on her blog that certain things already were in place.   Like her wedding dress designer.  She revealed that Vera Wang will make her gown, and explained:

Vera has been a close family friend for a long time and we had talked about this moment for years, so when it came to picking my wedding dress designer she was the first person I thought of. No one designs gowns the way she does!  I know that Vera can make my dream come true and create the most perfect gown for my special day.

Given that Kim was already seen at the Vera Wang bridal boutique, this is no big surprise, although I still think it’s an unlikely choice for Kim.

By the way, have you seen Kim’s wedding invitation yet?

Designed by Lehr & Black, the black-on-white invitations are “embellished with hundreds of jet black hematite crystals” and were apparently too elaborate for any old envelope.  They arrived at their destinations enclosed in a box.  I wonder how long ago Kim picked them out?

In last night’s episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian is disturbed when a rash develops on her legs just before she is set to shoot a commercial.

Kardashian heads to the dermatologist (and tells him her sister Khloe thought she had ringworm) where he diagnoses her with psoriasis, a condition which her mother, Kris Jenner has as well.

“I’d heard of it before because my mom has always had it, but she didn’t have red flaky dots all over her,” the 30-year-old star said.

“When I gain a pound, it’s in the headlines, so imagine what the tabloids will do to me when they see all these spots.”

With her dermatologist telling her lifestyle, travel and food are among the things that can exacerbate the problem, Kim worries about the impact it will have on her career.

She talks to her mom about it but Kris isn’t very sympathetic. Kris tells her to just deal with it, it’s not the end of the world.

On the day of the shoot, Kim is late but when she finally arrives, she rushes to the make-up artists and tells her the deal. She assures Kim it’s not a problem and can cover it.

Kris’ 10% cut is saved! WHEW!
