With a new movie out (Couples Retreat) and another one about to open (Astro Boy), it might look like Gossip Girl‘s  Kristen Bell gets all kind of work these days.  But that doesn’t happen all by itself!  Kristen knows not to rest on her laurels.  She says:

“After every job, I have ‘I’m never going to work again’ syndrome. It’s just a fact of loving what you’re doing and always wanting more. The one thing I learned from my father is how to be extremely proactive. So when a series gets canceled or a movie wraps, I get on the phone. I’m not an idiot. I’ve got a mortgage to pay. It’s just a matter of making smart decisions, as an actress and a businesswoman. There are a thousand girls out there that have great acting chops and are pretty and personable and I could easily fall out of the loop. Someone else could take my place. I want to ride this wave while I have it.”

Good for her!  Just because you’re famous doesn’t mean you can get cocky.  Keep up the hard work, Kristen!

Couples Retreat

What it’s about: A comedy centered around four couples who settle into a tropical-island resort for a vacation. While one of the couples is there to work on the marriage, the others fail to realize that participation in the resort’s therapy sessions is not optional.

Thoughts: I got the chance to be on the set of this movie at one point, I’m pretty sure the final product is going to be funny. With this many funny improvisational actors in the same place we are bound to get some good laughs.

Here’s the new poster for the upcoming film When in Rome starring Kristen Bell and Josh Duhamel.

Beth Harper (Bell) is a young, successful real estate agent … but she’s completely unlucky in love. However, when the New Yorker travels to Rome to see her newlywed sister, she impulsively steals some coins from a reputed fountain of love, and is then aggressively pursued by a band of wannabe lovers.

Sounds like a total chick flick to me, but who knows, some of those are good. I really like Kristen Bell.

Here’s the first trailer for the upcoming film Couples Retreat starring Vince Vaughn, Jon Favreau, Kristen Bell, Jason Bateman, Kristin Davis and Faizon Love.

I’m not jumping out of my seat on this one, but it seems like it could be pretty funny. It’s a pretty good cast, just not the most fresh concept. It reminds me a little bit of an old episode of I Love Lucy.

Here’s the poster for the upcoming comedy Couples Retreat.

The story revolves around four couples who go to a tropical island resort, with one couple working on their marriage and the others sucked into the resort’s couples therapy. Bell is playing Bateman’s wife, Davis plays Favreau’s wife, and Akerman plays Vaughn’s.

This will probably be pretty amusing, but I’m not expecting a killer comedy here.

Kristen Bell is set to star in You Again, a new film coming from the same director of Race to Witch Mountain, Andy Fickman.

Actress will play a girl who’s horrified to find that her brother is marrying the very girl who made her life a living hell in high school.

Sounds very Disney. I like Bell, she’s great, but this movie sounds like a pile of clichés.

I miss Kristen Bell in Heroes. I thought her character Elle was one of the coolest, but Sylar just had to go and kill her. At least we can still hear her narrating in Gossip Girl.

Kristen was out last night at the Alzheimer’s Association’s 17th Annual “A Night at Sardi’s” in Beverly Hills on Wednesday night (March 4). I am loving her cute dress. If anyone could wear such a playful dress it could be Kristen. What a great cause to help support.

Here are a couple brand new shots from the upcoming Astro Boy which features the voices of Freddie Highmore and Kristen Bell.

The first image is of Astro Boy soaring through the gargantuan METRO CITY. This is a publicity shot, taken from the actual film – you’ll never see Astro this clearly in the final film as he is hauling ass to go do something here. I saw a pre-release image of the one below, which had him in all his motion blur blurriness and it looks like he’s moving out there.�

The second image is of Astro Boy’s nemesis, PEACEKEEPER. If you’re not familiar with ASTRO BOY, this means nothing to you. However, if you are an astromaniac, you know that Peacekeeper is a baddie that absorbs other machines and turns their energy and powers against our little metal laddie.�

It really looks nice, the early teaser trailer didn’t look this colorful.�

Fans of the short lived show Veronica Mars starring Kristen Bell�will probably be seeing a feature film with the original cast.�

The show creator Rob Thomas confirmed that he�s even�working�on the adaptation now. And he says the stars of the show are on board as well.�

Thomas told IFMagazine, “My writing the movie is half the battle. Someone else has to pay for it. Joel�Silver�does have a certain pile of money. He called on me saying ‘Can we do this now?’ Kristen wants to do it. Joel wants to do it and I want to do it. For me, that�s the next project.”�

He�s got the right idea! Have someone else foot the bill! But Rob won�t be giving away any plot details just yet. He says, “I�m feeling like I�m on the right track now. But I don�t want to give that away yet. I know we did that F.B.I. ‘what if’ thing, but we would not go to that place. I think it would open just days before the Hearst College Graduation. So Veronica would be sort of at the end of her college career.”

I’ve never seen the show myself, but I have had a few people recommend it. Kristen Bell has already proven her feature film acting skills in Forgetting Sara Marshall�so this shouldn’t be too much of a stretch, although this show doesn’t have anywhere near the following of a show like Sex and the City.
