Kristin Davis Feels ‘So Blessed’ To Adopt A Baby Girl

Actress Kristin Davis has just become a brand new mother.

The 46 year-old has adopted a baby girl she named Gemma Rose Davis.

The Sex and the City star has been a parent for a few months to little Gemma but has kept details of the domestic adoption quiet until now.

“This is something I have wanted for a very long time,” Davis tells People magazine. “Having this wish come true is even more gratifying than I ever had imagined. I feel so blessed.”

Davis joins a growing list of Hollywood actresses who’ve adopted: Sandra Bullock, Madonna, Angelina Jolie, Meg Ryan, Sharon Stone and Katherine Heigel just to name a few.

Point of interest: Davis’ SATC character Charlotte also adopted her first child, although Charlotte’s daughter was from China.

Davis will next be seen in the movie Journey 2: The Mysterious Island with Michael Caine, Vanessa Hudgens and The Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson in theaters February 10, 2012.

Kristin Davis Goes Boring For Esquire House

Kristin Davis was at the Oxfam America and Esquire House Los Angeles host ‘The Oxfam Party’ over at the Esquire House in
Los Angeles.

I am a really big fan of hers, but this outfit is so boring I think I am falling asleep just looking at it.  Can you say schoolmarm?  Sure, she’s no SJP, but she can certainly do better than this!

Sex and the City Star Adopts Beautiful Baby Girl

Sex and the City’s Kristin Davis has adopted a baby girl.  Not what you think though!  Kristin discovered a baby elephant in Kenya and decided to adopt it!

She told Us,

“I adopted a baby elephant I found abandoned in Kenya. She lives at Kenya’s Sheldrick orphanage now.”

How sweet is that?  Poor little elephant lost her mama and now her new mom is an amazing actress with a huge heart.  Love it.

Kristin Davis Dishes SATC, Body Image For Red Magazine

Kristin Davis is on the cover of Red (UK) for June 2010.  I am not sure I understand what Kristin is doing here in the photo… exercising?  Auditioning for a circus?   ?????   However, she has lots of good stuff to say about Sex And The City and how it helped her hit the big time.  Check it out:

On Hollywood pressure to be ultra-skinny: ‘You get a lot of criticism out in the world or on the internet about how you look. Fat here, fat there. Hippy this, hippy that. That has been my entire career. But never at work. No one at Sex And the City has ever asked any of us four girls to lose weight. Thank God.’

On being an “older” actress – and loving it: Remember when we were young, the actresses that we liked? They were young, even though they seemed older to us. And you thought that you had to make it in your 20s, like if you weren’t going to make it on your 20s, you weren’t going to make it. So the fact I would be turning 45 and be the busiest, most successful I’ve ever been is very, very odd. And it is all because of Sex and the City, really.’

I think I would have done okay without it, but I don’t think any of us would have had this kind of career at this age if it hadn’t been for the larger thing Sex and the City turned out to be, culturally. I do feel incredibly lucky.’

Spoiler: ‘Sex and the City 2′ 80s Outfits Explained

sexandcity80s

Here’s a bit of a spoiler for the upcoming Sex and the City sequel, don’t read if you don’t want to hear any plot details.

Thanks to Patricia Field, the stylist for the movie, we have the scoop on Carrie’s 80′s outfit. “It was in the beginning of the movie,” Field explained to People.

“Carrie was waiting to meet her girlfriends and she was thinking about when she first moved to New York in the ’80s and how she met Samantha and Charlotte. They’re all, in real time, meeting to go shopping. And in her flashback time, she is thinking of when she first met each one of them.”

When asked about Miley and Penelope Cruz’s guest appearances, Patricia said, “That’s in the story line, but I’m not going to tell that one,” Field teases. “But, it’s fun. Miley’s a very good character. She’s a really nice girl. She’s happy and with it! She’s a very cool girl.”

During the first movie the gals traveled to Mexico after Big left Carrie at the alter, and it looks like they’ll be doing some traveling for the sequel too!

Not news that I even care about, but I’m sure there are plenty of rabid fans loving the news about the fashion the ladies will be wearing. This movie will be a big hit just like the first one was.

Kristin Davis Wants To Do A Western

kristin-davis-red-carpet

We may best know Kristin Davis as her character Charlotte York on Sex and the City. But, Kristin wants to trade in Manhattan and her stilettos for the wild west and some cowboy boots.

I just love horses. I want to be the girl on the horse.”

Can you imagine Kristin Davis in a western? I LOVE the idea. She just has a classic look, and I’d love to see her in more than SATC stuff.

As for those stilettos? She admitted that they take some getting used to when on the set.

“We get rusty with the walking and talking in high heels. Our feet are killing us. We are not back up to fighting shape and we have to get tough again.”

Hopefully while filming her new movie, Couples Retreat with Vince Vaughn, she got to wear flip flops on the shore of Bora Bora.

‘Sex and the City’ Sequel Gets Delayed

alg_sex_city

Much to the dismay of rabid fans everywhere, the upcoming sequel to Sex and the City is being delayed.

Filming in New York has already been pushed back until the end of August and now sources claim plans to film in Dubai have upset the government of the strict Muslim nation. A source tells Us Weekly, “The UAE authorities aren’t keen on the title because of the word ‘sex’.”

This isn’t a major setback, just a little longer to wait, I wouldn’t expect to see this out until summer of 2011.

Tropical ‘Couples Retreat’ Trailer

couplesretreat

Here’s the first trailer for the upcoming film Couples Retreat starring Vince Vaughn, Jon Favreau, Kristen Bell, Jason Bateman, Kristin Davis and Faizon Love.

I’m not jumping out of my seat on this one, but it seems like it could be pretty funny. It’s a pretty good cast, just not the most fresh concept. It reminds me a little bit of an old episode of I Love Lucy.
