Lil Wayne Gets Sentenced To ‘No Booze’ For 3 Years

Lil Wayne had some great welcome home parties to enjoy after getting out of prison.  They were fully stocked with booze, tons of champagne, the works.  Bummer for him that wasn’t able to touch any of it.

Before the celebrations, Lil Wayne appeared for the start of his probation that will last for 3 years.  The docs say that he “may not consume or drink any substance containing alcohol” for the full 3 years.

Lil Wayne also can’t knowingly associate with any person engaged in criminal activity or any person with a criminal record without prior written approval from the probation department, or possess illegal drugs, toxic vapors or controlled substances.  He’ll be submitting pee tests as well.

If he breaks any of these rules, it’s off to prison.

So you think he will be a goo boy?

blink182 Touring with Lil’ Wayne?

travisbarkerlilwayne

When 90′s-era punk fans rejoiced these past few months, it was for good reason!  blink182 officially confirmed their reunion and sequential tour.  Now new details are starting to emerge on just how big the reunion could be – According to Travis Barker‘s twitter, the thought of a tour co-headlining with Lil’ Wayne (who’s gone rock on his latest single “Prom Queen”) was put out there as food for thought.  It’d sure be an exciting, and high-selling shin dig!

Katie Couric Interviews Lil’ Wayne

lilwayneinterview

We’ve been hearing about this CBS news piece, Katie Couric interviewing Lil’ Wayne (to air as both part of a CBS Evening News topical and a Grammy Award promotion — duh, the awards take place on the network itself) for awhile now. Check out the full interview!

Sure it’s an extremely odd pairing, but by the time they bowl, it makes perfect sense that a middle-america-catering journalist can bring our generation’s most successful rapper into the dinner table conversation. Finally.

lilwaynerockalbum

Word just started circulating on the net about Lil’ Wayne‘s next album, and its rock feel. Already, a street date has been set – April 7th, with the first single “Prom Queen” debuting this month!

Lil Wayne is a Crotch Grabber (photos)

Lil Wayne was performing in Chicago, IL at the WGCI Big Jam 2008 and did his share of crotch grabbing. First of all…..nice price tag on your shoe dude. What, did you just steal the shoes on your way to the show? Who’s in charge of wardrobe? What I really want to know is,why this is ok…? Why is it cool for these artists to stand up there on stage and crotch grab in front of thousands of people??? WTF? You are not Michael Jackson! I think it’s lame and well……gross. Lil Wayne needs to lay off his ‘lil wayne’! Sorry! I couldn’t help myself. But, seriously. Enough crotch already….

Lil’ Wayne’s Takeover Continues: First the Grammys. Next? Sundance.

As if his pack-leading eight Grammy Award nominations weren’t enough (ontop of scoring the largest music release week of the year), Lil’ Wayne is further-seeking credibility, this time in the form of a Sundance Film Festival-premiering documentary about the rapper’s life.

The Carter is set to premiere January 25th at the resort festival’s “Park City at Midnight”.

The documentary was directed by Adam Bhala Lough, who is no stranger to documenting musicians on film. He previously directed “The Upsetter: The Life and Times of Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry.” The documentary took a look at the legendary reggae producer and his enormous contributions to the genre and to music in general.

“The Carter” is said to take “an in-depth, intimate look at the artist Dwayne ‘Lil Wayne’ Carter Jr., proclaimed by many as the ‘greatest rapper alive.’ “[source]

The 2008 Grammy Award Noms Are In!!

Lil’ Wayne is having THE GREATEST YEAR OF HIS LIFE! The Cash Money rapper lead the pack of musicians-nominated with 8 nominations of his own. Coming in second is Coldplay with 7 noms, followed by Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Ne-Yo each earning 6.

Also impressive were nominations scored by Adele (who received nods for Best New Artist, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year – for “Chasing Pavements”) and Rihanna for Best Dance Recording (for “Disturbia”), Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals (for her collaboration with Maroon 5 “If I Never See You Again”) and Best Long-Form Music Video.

Jason Mraz got a surprising nod for “I’m Yours” in the Song of the Year category, alongside Pink for “So What” who was nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

Favorites of mine Kings of Leon, M.I.A. and Lady Gaga were also nominated.

Check out the full list of nominees below!

Kanye Still Not Happy with EMA’s

Remember last year when Kanye West famously threw a fit over not winning at the MTV European Music Awards? Well he won this year, and in true fashion he wasn’t afraid to speak his mind -

“I won nothing last year and I’d brought out Stronger. Then this year, just because I was there, I won best urban act. This was Lil Wayne‘s year. Britney Spears over Rihanna? Are you serious? I mean f***ing Jared Leto (Of 30 Seconds to Mars)? He’s my boy but he shouldn’t have won over some of those other artists,” said ‘Ye.

Preach!
