‘Terminator 5′ Coming? (Image)

london_terminated-550x244

While the fate of the Terminator franchise continuing is still a question, here’s what the plans would be if a sequel does happen.

Back in April, Film Journal ran their Terminator Salvation promo interview. Here’s McG on his plans for a follow up:

I strongly suspect the next movie is going to take place in a 2011. John Connor is going to travel back in time and he’s going to have to galvanize the militaries of the world for an impending Skynet invasion. They’ve figured out time travel to the degree where they can send more than one naked entity. So you’re going to have hunter killers and transports and harvesters and everything arriving in our time and Connor fighting back with conventional military warfare, which I think is going to be fucking awesome.

If they do make Terminator 5 I would hope they don’t keep McG at all. Terminator Salvation was a pretty lifeless parade of special effects.

terminator-salvation-pic

Terminator Salvation is in theaters today, but it already made $3 Million from midnight showings.

Midnight screenings of “Terminator Salvation” have brought in an estimated $3 million in an early start to the Memorial Day weekend box office.

Warner Bros. didn’t disclose how many theaters offered the midnight shows. Studio’s launching the fourth “Terminator” today at 3,580 playdates domestically, then adding 50 venues on Friday.

The movie is bound to make a ton of money, even though it’s really not a very good film. Some are estimating it will make about $70 million this weekend.

‘Terminator Salvation’ Gets Widest Middle East Opening Ever

The Middle East is getting it’s widest movie release ever with Terminator Salvation this week.

Middle East auds are getting ready for the ultimate man vs. machine showdown. “Terminator Salvation” is getting the widest-ever release for a pic in the region with an unprecedented 76-print day-and-date bow May 21 across the entire Arab world.

Distrib Gulf Film will also be holding 24-hour screenings of the fourth installment of the cyborg franchise, which stars Christian Bale and Sam Worthington and is directed by McG, in its Grand Cineplex theater in Dubai.

Widest opening in the middle east and it’s about a WAR between robots and humans. I wonder how much money the movie will make there?

‘Terminator Salvation’ DVD Will Have Missing R-Rated Footage

termsalvbluray

Good news for those who are unhappy about the PG-13 rating of the new film Terminator Salvation. The DVD and Blu-ray will have 30-40 minutes of additional footage, some of it definitely R-Rated but not for guts or gore.

McG tells Collider that the upcoming DVD/Blu-ray release of “Terminator Salvation” is going to have around half an hour to 40 minutes of deleted scenes.

Amongst the scenes being cut include John Connor giving Sarah Connor-esque speeches, Moon Bloodgood topless, and the alternate ending.

I hope this movie is good with the PG-13 rating. Unfortunately McG is still the director. Oh well, hopefully all that extra footage will be worth it.

Arnold Confirmed to Be in ‘Terminator Salvation’

terminator-4

Arnold Schwarzenegger has been confirmed to be in Terminator Salvation. But he never set foot on the set.

The Governator revealed in a webcast this week that he may appear in the upcoming “Terminator Salvation,” but when he said he didn’t want to act, he left many fans scratching their heads.

Turns out Schwarzenegger has been secretly working with helmer McG and the effects team to reprise his signature role … without lifting a finger.

A body-cast mold of Schwarzenegger, created when he first appeared as the muscle-ripped cyborg, provided the basis for a digital-effects version of his famous character. The figure appears in “Terminator Salvation” as a living, breathing actor.

Him being in the movie in any capacity will add a lot of value to the film, regardless of him being real or not. The fact that we are in an age when putting an actor in a movie without them actually being there is a little freaky. I imagine the CGI version of Arnold will be a little robotic, how convenient huh?

‘Terminator Salvation’ Gets a PG-13 Rating

Terminator Salvation will not have the R rating that the director McG said it would, instead it’s only PG-13.

Fox will be airing an “extended look” at Terminator Salvation on Wednesday during Bones. /Film reader Samir J points out that the promo that aired during 24 advertising the extended preview also features the PG-13 MPAA logo.

Ok so I was looking forward to this movie more since the most recent trailers. Now that it’s been cut up into a PG-13 money machine, my hope is dwindling. I’ll still see it, but now we know it’s just not going to be as good as the other films.

New ‘Terminator Salvation’ Viral Video

Here’s a new viral video for the upcoming film Terminator Salvation

This is similar to the Watchmen viral video marketing. In the long run I can’t imagine this makes people more interested in seeing the movie. The trailer is what makes me want to see it.

Here’s the newest TV spot for the upcoming Terminator Salvation starring Christian Bale.

It’s looking like a lot of action with little substance, but I hope the story is actually engaging beyond the visuals.
