Mel Gibson Has Another Angry, Ranting Audio Tape Released – This Time, He Might Sue
Mel Gibson is once again at the center of accusations he despises Jews and hates his former lover and baby mama, Oksana Grigorieva even more.
Gibson and screenwriter Joe Eszterhas were working together on a project for Warner Bros. titled The Maccabees, a film that would chronicle Judah Maccabee, a Jewish man who led a revolt against the Seleucid Empire.
Eszterhas delivered a first draft which was rejected by both Gibson and the studio but he feels that Gibson had a more negative influence on the project and sent a nine-page letter to the actor with disturbing allegations attributed to the actor. (Read the letter in full at The Wrap.)
The screenwriter’s letter leveled accusations at the Braveheart star and director, saying Gibson unleashed a foul-mouthed rant where he said Jewish people were “oven dodgers” and John Lennon had a “messianic” complex and deserved to be shot. But it was Grigorieva that earned Gibson particularly bitter wrath including a threat to kill her with the help of two former FBI agents.
Although Gibson responded that it was untrue, Eszterhas told of an audio tape made by his teenage son (whom he said was afraid of Mel and that was why he made the recording,) at Gibson’s Costa Rican retreat that proved what he alleged.
Eszterhas decided to release the two-and-a-half minute tape where Gibson’s anger is focused on Oksana, his former lover and his daughter Luci’s mother and is brought on as Gibson looks at photo of himself holding his daughter.
“I am earning money for a filthy little c—sucker who takes advantage of me!” he rages to Eszterhas, reportedly referring to Grigorieva.
Gibson goes on to refer to her as a “f—ing c—t,” among other obscene phrases he uses about her.
In the short recording a crash is heard which Eszterhas attributes to Gibson knocking over a totem. (Here the full audio here, but be warned, the language is explicit.)
Gibson is unhappy with the leaked audio and may sue the screenwriter. Eszterhas and his family were in Gibson’s home when the recording was made and The Beaver star believes he has a “basic human right” to privacy within his own home.
TMZ reports Gibson’s attorneys are looking into privacy laws in Costa Rica and even if the country does not have laws governing the surreptitious recording, they are also looking into his legal rights with Eszterhas releasing the tape and violating his right to privacy.
As with Gibson and Grigorieva’s custody battle, just when you think it couldn’t get uglier, more nasty stuff surfaces.
