Australian actress Mia Wasikowska was on her home turf at the Sydney Film Festival.  She premiered her latest film, Jane Eyre, based on the classic novel by Charlotte Brontë.

Mia gets a lot of oft-deserved hate for her fashion choices, but I kind of like this dress.  I’m not sure what the deal is with the one-shoulder scarf-y thing at the neckline – it doesn’t do anything to enhance the garment, but it’s not doing any harm, either.  It looks like an afterthought more than anything else.  (Does anyone know what designer this is, by the way?)

Directed by Cary Fukunaga, Jane Eyre opens in Australian theaters on August 11.

Here’s the full feature trailer for the upcoming film Alice in Wonderland starring Johnny Depp from the twisted hand of Tim Burton.

I’m a little underwhelmed at the amount of obvious CGI in this film; I miss Jim Henson‘s Creature Workshop. Other than the obvious cartoony feel, I still look forward to seeing all the little funky details and characters in this film coming to life.

Stranger with every poster, I can’t help but feel a little weird about this movie. Johnny Depp is going to be interesting as this crazy character frolicking through the mushrooms.

Here’s the strange new poster for the upcoming Tim Burton film Alice in Wonderland.

Just bizarre. I really don’t know what to make of this movie, but I know I want to see it as soon as it comes out. I really hope it’s not as disappointing as it has the potential to be, the original animated film is actually a lot to live up to in the live action world.

Not exactly what I was imagining, but certainly very crazy. This movie is going to be a major hit. I have to say Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter does seem like a great fit.
