‘Transformers 2′ Robots Shown Actual Size in IMAX!

2009_transformers_revenge_of_the_fallen_009

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will be showing in IMAX and if you see it on the 50 foot screen you will see Optimus Prime exactly to scale!

Bay says the level of character detail is significantly greater than what you saw in Transformers, but you really have to see it in IMAX to believe it. ”The way to see this movie is on IMAX. Never before has there been 4k rendered character animation shot on full IMAX 70 mm film. This is a first and the results are stunning. You will see Optimus Prime in a few shots where he is actually perfectly to scale on the IMAX 50 foot tall screens.”

After seeing The Dark Knight in IMAX last year my interest in actual full IMAX scenes has skyrocketed. To put it simply IMAX scenes are about 3 times the resolution of a standard film! Thats so far beyond HD it’s ridiculous. Now I want to see it in IMAX.

Here’s a brand new photo of Optimus Prime in the upcoming film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Paramount/DreamWorks has just given us an exclusive image from director Michael Bay’s upcoming blockbuster “Transformers Revenge of the Fallen”. As you can see, it shows Optimus either getting ready to battle someone with sword in hand, or he’s just defeated someone. Either way, it looks awesome.

This movie needs to live up to the first one or the third is going to be a failure.

This is the only other poster I’ve seen for the movie other than a basic one with the decepticon face. You’d think they would release a regular poster before a banner type.

Steven Spielberg Thinks ‘Transformers 2′ is Michael Bay’s Best Film

bayspielberg

Here’s Michael Bay‘s recent update to his message board claiming that Spielberg thinks Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is his best film.

Steven Spielberg sat next to me in a big 100 person theater at Sony today. There were 98 empty seats. The lights came up after we just watched my cut of Revenge of the Fallen. He turned to me and said
“It’s awesome”. He felt this movie was better then the first – and probably my best, who knows – at this point in a movie you start to lose your objectivity. I just hope the fans like it. I’m going to start putting it in front of audiences in a few weeks – no you are not invited, yet.

We have 60 days left. Let me tell you it will be a race to finish. It’s 12 at night and we are still working here in the edit room. Everyone at ILM and DD are killing themselves right now, they are doing a stellar job on the effects. We also just finished our trailer which is coming out with Wolverine. Talk to you soon.

Michael Bay loves to glorify himself as usual. I hope the movie is better than the first one, it certainly looks more epic in size.

‘Transformers 2′ Even Longer Than the First

00023262

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will run a little longer than the first Transformers according to Michael Bay

“It’s four minutes longer than the last one,” explained Bay, saying that the runtime was locked. “So, go figure it out.”

Well, our crack research team here at MTV News has gotten to the bottom of the mystery – and by that, I mean that I walked over to my DVD shelf just now and looked at the back of my copy. It says that the 2007 “Transformers” was 143 minutes, which means that “Revenge of the Fallen” will run…drumroll please…yep, 147 minutes.

Thats a long movie; when I first saw Transformers it didn’t feel that long. I hope this movie has the same effect.

Michael Bay Says No to ‘Transformers 3′ in 2011

michael_bay_fios_commercial_image__2_

Michael Bay was surprised by yesterday’s news of the official release date for Transformers 3.  He’s not willing to make the next movie so soon, here’s what he had to say on his official website:

“Wait a minute! I said I was taking off a year from Transformers. Paramount made a mistake in dating Transformers 3 – they asked me on the phone – I said yes to July 4 – but for 2012 – whoops! Not 2011!!! That would mean I would have to start prep in September. No way. My brain needs a break from fighting robots.”

I say get a new director and keep the movie on track, he’s not the only director who can make epic movies.

‘Transformers 3′ Gets a Release Date Already

Transformers 3 has already been given a release date by the studio. July 1st, 2011.

Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures have set a July 1, 2011 release date for Transformers 3, but the studios have cautioned to Variety that the dating of the third installment isn’t an official announcement that the project is going forward; rather that the studios wanted to plan a stake in the date.

They know part 2 is going to make a ton of money so it makes sense that they would set a date for the next film.
