Michelle Obama and Ryan Seacrest Hanging Out!? (VIDEO)

Last night, a TMZ photog spotted Michelle Obama leaving Osteria Mozza in Los Angeles with one of her daughters.  There was of course a ton of security including 1 CHP patrol car, 4 SUVs, and about a half dozen CHP motorcycle officers.

The funny thing was that Ryan Seacrest was at the same hotspot, likely celebrating the imprisonment of his stalker and left only an hour before the Obamas.  That Ryan sure has friends in high places.  Watch the video of the First Lady here.

Michelle Obama Hosts Healthcare Event

First Lady, Michelle Obama hosted a health care event for elderly women at the White House on Friday (November 13th).  She was  accompanied by Nancy-Ann DeParle (Director of the White House Health Reform Office) and three women who shared their stories of their struggle to find good healthcare coverage in this country.

SEE MICHELLE OBAMA ON THE COVER OF GLAMOUR HERE!

Michelle Obama was dressed like a million bucks, as she always is.  Rocking a beehive type ‘do and flashing that big smile, I believe that Michelle gave hope to the elderly and there hopes for better healthcare.

First Lady Michelle Obama Covers Glamour Magazine December 2009 (Photos)

Michelle Obama covers Glamour Dec 09

Michelle Obama is covering yet another magazine and this time it’s Glamour.  This is the first time in the magazine’s 70 year history that they have had a First Lady on the cover.  What an on honor on both parts.  The December 2009 issue features the First Lady and the interns from the East Wing of The White House.  Michelle Obama is getting the ball rolling on mentorship in DC.

Here are some highlights from the interview:

Mentoring matters, especially for young women: “I think that mentoring is such a critical part of the role I can play in this position. I see how little bits of exposure and big bits of exposure really change my girls significantly, and I want that for more girls around the country and the world.”

The real role models aren’t movie stars–they’re the people you know: “They were the people in my life. My mom, for sure. My dad. The teachers. For me, role-modeling was immediate, it was touchable…Children connect with who is in their lives, present and accounted for…That’s why we’re trying to encourage moms, teachers, fathers, to be that presence in their children’s lives, in their communities, because it really makes a difference.”

Don’t wait to be “discovered” by a mentor: “I was blessed throughout my entire career. I had people rooting for me. It started with my parents, but it extended to almost every teacher that I had. When I was a young lawyer, there were other women and men in the firm who took me under their wing. Look for those mentors, because sometimes mentors don’t find you–sometimes you seek them out. Oftentimes, they’re flattered and glad to lend a hand.”

Don’t put yourself last in line: In answer to a reader question about how she keeps her sanity, the First Lady told Katie, “I have always tried to put my kids first, and then…put myself a really close second, as opposed to fifth or seventh. One thing that I’ve learned from male role models is that they don’t hesitate to invest in themselves.”

When it comes to looks and style, set your own standards: “People are always going to have opinions, and people have a right to their opinions, particularly when you’re the First Lady; you’re representing the nation. So I can’t be surprised that people are interested. But I’ve tried to be at peace with the choices that I make first, and then be open to everyone else’s reflection.”

With men, don’t be swayed by “cute”: “Cute’s good. But cute only lasts for so long, and then it’s, Who are you as a person? Don’t look at the bankbook or the title. Look at the heart. Look at the soul…When you’re dating a man, you should always feel good…You shouldn’t be in a relationship with somebody who doesn’t make you completely happy and make you feel whole.”

The December issue of Glamour hits stands next week.

Michelle Obama ‘Stimulates’ With Oprah

Michelle Obama and Oprah eating in NYC

A few days ago I was listening to the radio and heard this clip of Michelle Obama talking about how she takes White House staff and sneaks out to all the yummy, hot spots in D.C.  I was thinking it was kind of odd that she would be publicizing it.  Then as I look at this snap of Michelle and Oprah out to eat in New york City, I find it now typical.  Celebrity soirees left and right.  Blowing big bucks in our faces.  It seems that the Obamas are going to be in a constant limelight.  Yes, the President of the United States is always in the spotlight.  That’s normal.  But, this election seems to have brought Hollywood to the White House.  With so many issues beating up our nation, I don’t think that the Obamas should be acting so damn “flashy”.  Of course we know that they eat lavishly.  But, is it really necessary to “stimulate the economy” by spending our tax dollars on pricey meals.  Flying a pizza chef 860 miles to the White House to make you dinner, Michelle’s super expensive shoes?  Talk about abusing your power.  It’s not like we expect them to live in poverty.  But, the Obama’s have taken advantage of their position and it’s totally disrespectful to the rest of the country that is struggling. If I never see another headline about Michelle Obama’s wardrobe, it will be too soon.

Michelle Obama Is A Comic Book Hero

michelle-obama-comic-book

First Lady Michelle Obama is the star of a new comic book from Bluewater Productions.

She won’t have any superpowers – the comic is a biography – but the book celebrates Mrs. Obama “secur[ing] her place in American history.”

This is the third installment in the publisher’s Female Force series.  The first two featured Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin, and are already in their third print run.

But Bluewater president Darren Davis “expects Obama’s book to outsell Clinton and Palin’s.”

“The reaction has been insane.”

I love the idea of a Michelle Obama comic book, but Oh. My. God.  Did they have the make her look SO demonic?  She’s the First Lady, not The Joker!

First Lady Michelle Obama & Oprah Cover ‘O’ Magazine

Michelle Obama & Oprah Cover O Magazine

Stylish First Lady Michelle Obama shares the cover of “O” Magazine with the famous media mogul Oprah Winfrey. Michelle opens up her home, talks about her new life in the White House and what’s keeping her real in an exclusive interview with Oprah.

Michelle also admits to be privileged to be able to live in what she calls the “people’s house”. Here are some highlights of Michelle Obama’s “O” Magazine interview:

Michelle on what she “knows for sure” in life: “I know that all I can do is be the best me that I can. And live life with some gusto. Giving back is a big part of that. How am I going to share this experience with the American people? I‘m always thinking about that.”

Michelle on how her daughters, 10-year-old Malia and 7-year-old Sasha, know dad is home: “Once someone on my staff e-mailed to tell me that the president was on his way. But you could already hear the helicopter, so it was like, well, no kidding.”

Michelle on her White House vision: “It’s a beautiful home. When you go out and come back, especially at night, with all the white lights on–it’s just beautiful. We feel privileged, and we feel a responsibility to make it feel like the people’s house. We have the good fortune of being able to sleep here, but this house belongs to America.”

Mama Obama ‘Rules’ The White House

Michelle Obama covers People

Michelle Obama might be the First Lady, but she is first and foremost a mom to her girls Malia and Sasha. Being the President Obama’s daughters has it’s perks, but they are still girls with rules. And that’s healthy parenting.

Start with the girls’ chores. They’re still making their own beds, cleaning their rooms and clearing their dishes. And even with their grandmother, Marian Robinson, 71, staying in a third-floor guest room to help out, Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, must show responsibility.

Their mother, Michelle Obama, has asked the White House staff not to do too much. “People want to make your life easy, and when you have small kids I’ve explained this to the staff they don’t need their lives to be easy. They’re kids,” she says.

The girls do have roaming privileges all around the historic mansion and can pop into the Oval Office whenever they want. “I’ve tried to encourage them to feel like this whole place is their home,” Mrs. Obama tells PEOPLE. “We actually had this conversation just let us know where you’re going.”

That rocks. I love how they are handling this. The girls are kids. They need to have as much of the real world stay in their lives as possible. Making your own bed and clearing your own dishes…I love it. Plus, the fact that they can walk into the Oval Office whenever they need their dad, PRICELESS.
