Forest Whitaker is set to join Mickey Rourke in the upcoming film St. Vincent.

That Rourke is set to headline Hill’s upcoming St Vincent is not new, word of that began to circulate in early 2009.  He’ll be playing an aging hitman having a crisis of conscience after taking the confession of his intended target, a premise that is certainly an interesting one.  Making it even more interesting are the recent cast additions of Forest Whitaker, Ray Winstone and Gong Li.

Whitaker is a phenomenal actor, I’m always interested in seeing him in new roles. This should be a good one, thats a lot of talent in one movie.

These posters look fantastic, I can’t wait to see this movie. I really hope it can live up to the quality of the first one, especially with all the extremely talented people involved. It’s certainly going to be one of the biggest titles of 2010.

Mickey Rourke is planning his third wedding.  Who’s the lucky girl this time?  It’s his 24 year old girlfriend Elena Kuletskaya, who he’s been dating for a few months.

Elena is a Russian model that Rourke picked to be his language coach for his role as a Soviet spy for his new flick, Iron Man 2.

“They haven’t booked a venue or made any solid plans. He just knows he wants to do it in April, and he’s been asking what is involved in a traditional Russian wedding ceremony.”

I hope that Mickey has better luck this time!  He has already divorced Debra Feuer back in 1989 after being married for eight years.  Then he married Carre Otis in 1992 and then dumped her six years later in 1998.

There is a 33 year gap between Elena and Mickey…. hmmmmmm.

This movie doesn’t look like the most intelligent piece of work coming down the pipeline, but how can you say no to so many action stars packed into one movie? It’s bound to be fun.

Mickey Rourke is set to play another bad guy, this time it’s the famed killer The Ice Man.

Hey kids, maybe if you murder a couple hundred people for the mob, Mickey Rourke will star in your life story, too. Stay in school. Last month, we wrote about the beef had by true crime writer and biographer, Philip Carlo, with actor/model Channing Tatum portraying Richard “The Ice Man” Kuklinksi in a feature film based on his book The Ice Man. Carlo deemed Tatum unworthy to play the infamous goon, who died in prison in 2006. Rubbing in his dislike for the young actor, Carlo put in a commendable word for the veteran Rourke. Well, the disagreement between Carlo and mega-producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura led to the latter’s rights expiring on the project last month; in the meantime, Rourke got in touch with Carlo and now he’s apparently set to star. Carlo says via the NY Post that Rourke thinks the movie could “be his Raging Bull.”

Talk about a dark role, Mickey Rourke has an evil character to absorb and perform. This is certainly not your average movie role, but I’m sure Rourke is up to the task.

Here’s ET’s Iron Man 2 on-set special with exclusive interviews and footage.

Thats a long video that doesn’t really reveal a whole lot. Those laser whips are pretty cool weapons though, the movie is going to be huge next summer. I sure hope it’s not all just flash/bang and it continues with good storytelling.

Here’s the first shot of Mickey Rourke as the villain Whiplash in the upcoming film Iron Man 2.

Whiplash sports a power pack on his chest that looks similar to the one used by Iron Man. “The technologies are definitely related, and that’s part of the core theme of the film,” says Favreau.

The character’s alter ego, Ivan Vanko, is a Russian who, Favreau says, “has constructed his own version of a suit.” Among the creative alterations: a pair of whips, powered by the suit’s glowing chest piece. Whiplash “is going to light them up,” says Rourke.

Looks cool, but this is really just a tiny little taste of what’s in store for this mega sequel. Rourke is certainly up for the task.
