Mike Myers Becomes A Dad & Welcomes His First Child

Mike Myers is a first-time dad!

The 48 year-old actor and his wife, Kelly Tisdale, welcomed a baby boy.

The newest member of the family entered the world a couple of weeks ago and the “ecstatic” (and very private) couple have chosen the name Spike for their child.

Myers and Tisdale were married in the Fall of 2010 but kept it under wraps until the Spring of 2011. They also didn’t confirm her pregnancy until May of this year.

Myers was married to Robin Ruzman for 12 years, prior to Tisdale.

Although Myers has voiced the Shrek character in the latest installments, he has not been onscreen since his 2008 film The Love Guru and a small role in Inglorious Basterds in 2009; Myers is set for a return to the big screen with two projects: the 4th Austin Powers and the untitled Keith Moon biopic.

Mike Myers is taking the fatherhood plunge.

The 47 year-old actor and comedian is set to become a first time father now that his wife, Kelly Tisdale is pregnant.

“I can confirm they are expecting a child,” Myers’ rep told the New York Post’s Page Six.

The SNL alumni, star of Shrek, Austin Powers and Wayne’s World and his wife, co-founder with Moby of the well known NY cafe Teany are thrilled.

“We are overjoyed,” the couple said in a statement to People magazine.

Myers and Tisdale’s relationship flew under the radar and they were quietly married in the fall of 2010 after dating for four years.

Myers was previously married to comedy writer Robin Ruzman for 12 years and the couple did not have children together.

First Look: ‘Shrek Forever After’ (Image)

Shrek Forever After Image

Here’s the first image from the upcoming sequel Shrek Forever After, the fourth and final installment in the series.

The once-upon-a-time spoofing that began with 2001′s Shrek will conclude when Shrek Forever After, the fourth computer-animated comic adventure starring the hygiene-challenged ogre — and the first in 3-D — arrives May 21. A trailer premieres Dec. 18 at showings of Avatar.

“All that was loved about Shrek in the first film is brought to the final film,” promises Bill Damaschke, head of creative production atDreamWorks. Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz are back as the voices of Shrek, sidekick Donkey and ogress wife Fiona.

This movie will obviously be a lot of fun, but I hope it’s better than Shrek the Third. The first two had a certain magic about them that the third one just didn’t pull off. In any case I want to see it.

‘Shrek 4′ Plot Revealed

shrek

Here’s the newly available plot of the next Shrek film, entitled Shrek Goes Fourth.

After challenging an evil dragon, rescuing a beautiful princess and saving your in-laws’ kingdom, what’s an ogre to do? Well, if you’re Shrek, you suddenly wind up a domesticated family man. Instead of scaring villagers away like he used to, a reluctant Shrek now agrees to autograph pitch forks. What’s happened to this ogre’s roar?

Longing for the days when he felt like a “real ogre”, Shrek is duped into signing a pact with the smooth-talking dealmaker, Rumplestiltskin.

Shrek suddenly finds himself in a in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumplestiltskin is king and Shrek and Fiona have never met. Now, it’s up to Shrek to undo all he’s done in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world and reclaiming his one True Love.

Sounds like a nice change from the somewhat boring path the story was taking. I’ll see it.

‘Puss in Boots’ ‘Shrek’ Spinoff in the Works

puss-in-boots

The lovable Antonio Banderas voiced character Puss in Boots from the Shrek movies is getting his very own feature.

Tom Wheeler has been hired to write the “Shrek” spinoff “Puss in Boots” for DreamWorks Animation, a stand-alone feature foray for the feline assassin/swordsman voiced by Antonio Banderas in the two most recent “Shrek” films.

Michelle Raimo is producing.

The “Shrek” franchise has ballooned into a multibillion-dollar property, with three feature films grossing more than $2 billion worldwide in theaters, tens of millions of DVDs sold and merchandising in every toy store. A fourth feature film, “Shrek Goes Fourth,” is due in theaters May 21, 2010.

So they’ve hired a writer now hopefully they can pull of a quality movie.

‘Austin Powers 4′ in the Works

Mike Meyers is currently writing another sequel to the hugely popular Austin Powers franchise according to Nikki Finke which will be an homage to his late father:

It’s very personal with a father and son theme loosely based on his own life,” an insider tells me. As Myers has previously said, this fourth installment of the super spy spoof movie series will focus on Austin’s arch-villain Dr. Evil, who was based on Blofeld of the Bond films. But what hasn’t been known is that the AP4 plot is really about Dr. Evil and his son (introduced already as Scott Evil, played by Seth Green) Myers said this week he conceived the film’s plot during a “spiritual quest” of self-discovery to help him cope with his dad’s death in 1991 following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. And it was during this time in his life that he said he was inspired to create the character of The Love Guru. “In many ways, The Love Guru is honouring him by dealing with his loss, because making silly movies is how I deal with things.”

There’s no deal in place yet but New Line is panting after No. 4 despite Myer’s recent box office bomb, The Love Guru, for Paramount.

Who knows if it will be worth it, but I liked the first three. What do you think? Would you go see the sequel? Take the poll!
