Milla Jovovich Shows off ‘Resident Evil: Afterlife’ Set (Video)

Milla Jovovich Image

Here’s a new Twitter video that Milla Jovovich posted to the web showing off one of sets of her newest film Resident Evil: Afterlife.

The video really doesn’t show a lot, it’s no wonder they allowed her to post it. Just a bunch of planes and equipment, not exactly zombie insanity in action.

Not  lot to reveal anything about the story here, but hey it is something. I’m curious what else they can do with this concept and if this film will be more compelling than the last two.

Milla Jovovich: “It’s All About My Baby”

Milla Jovovich 2

Milla Jovovich is known for kicking butt in movies like Resident Evil, but she also kicks butt as a mom to her daughter, Ever.  She shared some of her parenting philosophies with Parade.

How being a parent gives you perspective:

“Before you have kids, you create so many problems that are centered in yourself. You’re thinking, Am I ready for this audition? Am I good enough? Now that I have a kid, it’s not such a big deal. Even if I don’t get the job, I know I’m going to be really busy at home. Being a mother to my daughter, Ever, is a full-time job. Now it’s all about my baby, her growing up well and getting everything she needs. Everything else is just a plus.”

On the importance of communicating with your kids:

“You’ve got to know your kids like the back of your hand and make sure they’re honest with you and not scared to tell you things. I know when Ever goes to school I’ll be letting my little bird go, but I just want to make sure she tells me everything that happened, good or bad.”

On controlling what media kids are exposed to:

“I think parents need to take a lot more responsibility than they do about whether it’s OK for their children to go to Resident Evil or any other movie with violence or sex or whatever. It’s really easy to blame Hollywood for violence having an effect on kids, but movies would have no power if parents would just set their own standards. And it’s the same with video games.”

Wise words!  I think Milla sounds like an awesome mom.

Milla Jovovich Will See ‘Faces in the Crowd’

milla_jovovich

Milla Jovovich is set to star in a new psychological thriller called Faces in the Crowd.

Milla Jovovich will star in writer-director Julien Magnat’s psychological thriller “Faces in the Crowd” for Forecast Pictures, Radar Films and Minds Eye Entertainment.

Story centers on a woman who barely survives an attack by a serial killer and wakes up in hospital with a head injury that leaves her “face-blind.” No longer able to recognize faces, she must navigate a world in which facial features change each time she loses sight of them. All the while the killer is closing in, determined to eliminate the potential witness.

Sounds like it has a lot of potential, especially with Jovovich as the lead. She’s a really good actress, it’s nice to see her do something other than a campy horror film.

Compelling New ‘Fourth Kind’ Featurette

fourth-kind

Here’s a new featurette for the upcoming film The Fourth Kind starring Milla Jovovich.

It’s like watching a legitimate documentary until it gets to the end. I wonder how many people will believe this little farce. Fact mixed with fiction offers a lot of possibility for marketing.

‘Resident Evil: Afterlife’ Starts Shooting

22evil600

The newest film in the franchise Resident Evil: Afterlife has begun shooting in Toronto.

Screen Gems and Constantin Film announced today that Resident Evil: Afterlife, the next installment in the widely successful “Resident Evil” film franchise has begun production in Toronto, Canada. The fourth film, which will be shot and released in 3-D, is a first in the “Resident Evil” film franchise. Most of the key creative players, who turned the “Resident Evil” film franchise into a global phenomenon, will be reprising their roles in “Afterlife.”

Actress Milla Jovovich returns as the zombie-fighting heroine Alice. Ali Larter reprises her role as Claire Redfield from Resident Evil: Extinction. Spencer Locke, who played K-Mart in “Extinction,” is also set to return. New to the film franchise is leading man Wentworth Miller, who has signed on as Chris Redfield – Claire’s brother and a popular character from the game series. Shawn Roberts will take over the role of Alice’s nemesis Wesker. Boris Kodjoe and Kim Coates have also been cast.

I can’t say that I like the last two films in this series, but I am interested in seeing the next one. I think it’s just the fact that Milla Jovovich always manages to be interesting in her roles for me.

Milla Jovovich Steams Up Maxim September 2009

milla-jovovich-maxim-cover

Milla Jovovich has a lot to celebrate lately.  She just got married to her sweetie Paul Anderson (congratulations, guys!), and she’s stripped down to bare essentials for Maxim‘s current issue.

Of the sexy photoshoot, she said:

“Look, I do Vogue, OK? I’m not doing this  to advertise a designer; I had a little girl recently, and I’m doing this to show my post-baby body! Lingerie and a sheet were all I needed.  I know it’s all about my body. I want to give readers exactly what they want, and they want to see me.”

Milla’s daughter Ever is a year and a half old, and from the looks of it she’s made good use of the time working on that post-baby body.  Hooooottt!!!  I’d say Maxim‘s readers will be pleased.

Milla Jovovich To Marry This Weekend

milla-jovovich

Celebrity couple, model/actress, Milla Jovovich and director, Paul Anderson, are all set to marry this Saturday, August 22. They plan to wed surrounded by a small group of 50 family and friends at their home in Los Angeles.

It’s going to be small,” . “It’s just going to be family and close friends. And it’s at our home and it’s going to be kind of Havana/Cuban, like very California-Spanish feeling. It’s going to be nice.”

As for her dress, Milla will be wearing a “60s mini dress” that she has designed herself.

But why now? The couple have known each other since 2002, when Anderson directed Jovovich in Resident Evil. And they already has a daughter together, Ever, who is 21 months old.

We’ve been together for a long time. We’ve talked about marriage a few times, but we were pretty easy about the whole thing. What decided it? Having a baby. That pretty much decided it. So we don’t have a little b*****d running around.”

Hopefully that sense of humor will help them get through the years of being married. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Milla Jovovich Has A Thing For Knives

milla-jovovich

Actress/model/mom Milla Jovovich has come out and said that she has never been liked most traditional toys, and much prefers her weapons collection or doing martial arts.

“I have so many weapons at home. It’s not like I sit at home twirling knives, but I’ve always been into handling weapons. As a kid I liked ninja warriors, not dolls. I have some kukris. They are one-handed knives and a bit like machetes, very vicious instruments with a curved blade. They are used for hacking and I love them because they are so versatile. You can really get into the meat of an animal, slice cucumbers and kill zombies – all in one day.”

I so understand what she means.  I had to make a salad yesterday and immediately after was fighting off the undead.  Good thing I had my machete.

As for getting her kicks on the while working, Milla loves doing stunts.

“I get a thrill out of doing dangerous stunts. In ‘A Perfect Getaway’ I have to steer a kayak close to sharp rocks, miles off the coast of Puerto Rico. It’s dangerous – there’s a very high tide and if my boat tips over I’ll go face-first on to the rocks. It’s so grueling trying to get this kayak to go where I want it to go.

“Then I have a vicious cat fight with a girl who is trying to kill me. We have knives and we’re hitting and punching each other on the edge of a cliff, rolling around in the dust.

Hmmm, hot mommy Milla rolling around in the dust, fighting, and she likes to play with knives at home?  Sounds like Angelina Jolie has some competition in the male fantasy department now.

Milla Jovovich Will Be Cloned and in 3D for ‘Resident Evil: Afterlife’

millaclones

Milla Jovovich will play multiple versions of her character in the upcoming sequel Resident Evil: Afterlife which will also be in 3D.

She (Jovovich) has confirmed that her husband, Paul WS Anderson, will direct as well as produce, and that he’s reasearching 3D techniques in order to shoot this chapter in the format.

“Let’s just say this. The clones are definitely in it. You’ve got multiple Alice’s kicking serious butt. And definitely the real Alice has some pretty major things happen to her that change the stakes a little bit. That’s probably all I can give you in a vague sort of way. It’s definitely going to be a different Alice than who we’re used to…There’s the clones and it’s going to be a lot of work. I’m gonna be working every day for the next four months on this and it’s gonna be bigger than ever. It’s super-exciting.”

Jovovich is one of my favorites, I wish she could land more intensive emotional roles. She’s a really great actress, but she’s always stuck doing the action thing. In any case, I’ll still watch Resident Evil: Afterlife.
