Miranda Cosgrove is facing the dilemma that many tween stars run up against – how do they grow up and move into more adult roles without completely trashing their image.

The NY Times has a great article on Miranda, examining her next career move and how she is navigating the waters that many teenage girl stars fail to get through without getting completely soaked.

As part of Nickelodeon’s roster of teen stars, Cosgrove did what was once thought impossible: over take Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana in the ratings two years ago. Yes, long ago, the iCarly star and show beat out Disney’s powerhouse to surprise many.

As Cyrus, 18, has shifted away from her original audience with a definite sexy edge, the 17 year-old Cosgrove has maintained her innocence – both on screen and off.

Where does she go next? Stay in the business and transition to more grown up fare (bare it all for a magazine) or head off to college?

“It’s weird for me. My friends are going through this thing of figuring out what they want to do with their lives. And I — at this point, I think I know what I want. But if I go to college, I can figure it out for sure.”

Cosgrove puts it simply. She has one pure teenage wish left to conquer. When asked:

“Where do you think you’ll be in a year?”

She paused, thoughtfully. “I really don’t know,” she said. “I hope at least I have my driver’s license.”

iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove has been injured in a tour bus accident early Thursday morning that has also sent her mother and driver to the hospital.

The 18 year-old Nickelodeon star suffered a broken ankle when the crash occured in Illinois. Cosgrove’s Crazy Cats tour bus and a tractor trailer were involved in the highway collision.

“Miranda Cosgrove’s tour bus was involved in an accident early this morning in Illinois on I-70, just outside of Vandalia,” her rep said in a statement.

“There were five passengers on the bus, and Miranda suffered a broken ankle. At this time, we are told everyone will be fine.

“Because of this, her tour is postponed until further notice,” the statement concludes. “Miranda thanks everyone for their understanding and support.”

A source is telling People magazine that although Miranda only had a broken ankle, her mother and the driver have suffered more “life threatening” problems as a result of the crash.

“Miranda’s mom was on the bus with her and got really beaten up by the crash,” the source said.

“She’s expected to fully recover, but it’s scary because the driver was hurt, too, and he’s in really bad shape because the injury happened close to his heart.”

Cosgrove’s tour is postponed until further notice.

Traveling to New York City last weekend, Miranda Cosgrove hit the Mondrian Hotel for Seventeen magazine’s “Pretty Amazing” luncheon.

Miranda chose an embellished Brian Reyes tank top, a Charlotte Ronson abstract print skirt and a cute side braid for the afternoon event.

The 18 year-old star met up with the five finalists for the contest which she is judging. The winner will get to be on the cover of the October issue of Seventeen and a $10,000 scholarship from Neutrogena.

While in NYC, the iCarly actress took in the Broadway show, Normal Heart starring The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons. Cosgrove also tweeted she was able to get some go-kart time in and had fun at the zoo.

Miranda Cosgrove has quite a wish list when it comes to the kind of guys she’d like to date.

The iCarly star will be on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today and the teen star was asked by the host to describe her ideal guy to date.

Cosgrove said “What kind of guy? Shia LaBeouf and Zac Efron put together. With a Michael Cera personality.”

DeGeneres is now on the lookout for Miranda as the 17 year-old said she was open to matchmaking.

“I like to set people up. I’ll be thinking. The next time somebody’s here, I’ll mention you and we’ll see what happens,” said Ellen.

Emma Roberts and Miranda Cosgrove were fabulous at the 19th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party held at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, California on Sunday, February 27th.

Roberts wore a lovely Jenny Packham shimmering gray gown and Cosgrove chose a black sparkly cocktail length number with black peep toe shoes.

The 2011 People’s Choice Awards took place at the Nokia Theatre Live L.A. Wednesday night (January 5th) and young Hollywood came out in full force.

Taylor Swift won for Favorite Country Music Artist and Zac Efron grabbed the Favorite Movie Star Under 25 trophy.

Ashley Tisdale, Miranda Cosgrove, Emma Roberts, Raven Symone and sisters AJ and Aly Michalka were all on hand for the evening. The stars brought out their fashion A-game as Tisdale wore Farah Angsana, Swift chose J Mendel, Roberts picked Chrisitan Dior, Cosgrove wore Nicole Miller, and Gomez wore Paule Ka on the blue carpet and Irina Shabayeva for her performance.

AnnaLynne McCord, Cassie Scerbo and Josie Loren were also at the ceremony.

iCarly‘s Miranda Cosgrove has been enjoying the success of her debut album Sparks Fly since its release this past spring.  She’s busy at work preparing for her Dancing Crazy tour, which kicks off on January 24th in Kansas City.  What else is Miranda up to?  She spoke to the Contra Costa Times earlier this week.

On her rock aspirations: It would be really cool to be some kind of mixture of Mick Jagger, Steven Tyler and Stevie Nicks. Maybe, as I get older. …

On co-writing some of the songs on Sparks Fly: With “Kissin U,” I wrote about a guy I really liked, which was super scary. I had to really get my nerve up to tell him that it was about him. It was a little embarrassing, but he was flattered.

On getting ready for college: I’ve applied to five colleges, including USC, which is close to home, and NYU, which is across the country and would mean a whole new life. Right now, I’m trying to figure out a major and I’m kind of all over the place. For a long time, I thought it would be film. Now, maybe musical theater. I’ve even thought about psychology. I keep changing my mind.

Little Miranda really has come a long way since she played the annoying little sister in Drake and Josh. I find iCarly increasingly irritating these days, but I do think that she’s quite a talented performer and can’t wait to see how her career shapes up.  Read Miranda’s entire interview here.

Miranda Cosgrove was in London for the premiere of Despicable Me over at the Empire Leicester Square and she was breathtaking.  Honestly, I can’t get over just how beautiful this girl is.  If she didn’t have a lick of talent or any personality, she’d still be a star, just by her beauty alone.
