So what’s new about Miss Universe having photo scandals? Â Well, this time the Miss Universe organization is the culprit. Â You could say they are the ‘leak’. Â Yes, The reigning/on her way out, Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza did a racy photo shoot, loved her pics and wanted to share them with the world. Â So, she got her way and the MIss Universe Organization submitted the snaps to Maxim for all the world to enjoy.
At the ripe old age of 23, Dayana Mendoza has reigned as Miss Venezuela and Miss Universe, gone to an Italian interior design school, and traveled the world while fulfilling her duties as the official hottest woman in all of existence. Not bad. Now the sultry South American’s reign is coming to an end, and she’s ready to do something her hectic schedule hasn’t allowed her to do in a year—pass out.
When you look at these pictures, you can see why Dayana is so proud. Â Who wouldn’t be when they look like that? Â BUT, I think it’s wrong that these officials can bend the ‘racy photo’ rule whenever they feel the need. Â Either you can have topless, seductive photos out there or you can’t. Â It’s not fair to everyone else. And yes, of course Donald Trump is fine with these pictures. Â He is supportive in fact.
Lastly, if you’re going to be done with your time as the reigning Miss Universe, wouldn’t it be best to wait until you are officially done rather than cause all this chaos over your sexy pictures? Â Oh wait! Â That’s the point! Â More self promotion…….

First their daughter Elizabeth, 25, joined mom’s modeling profession and now Georgia May, 17, steps into the limelight as the newest face of Hudson Jeans. Shot by Mario Sorrenti, the sultry ads will appear in the September fashion issues hitting newsstands now. After seeing that pout, there is no doubt who her parents are.

British supermodel Kate Moss is UK Vogue’s 2009 cover model for their September issue. Mario Testino photographed Moss and gave her a retro 60s look. Considering it’s the biggest edition a fashion magazine puts out each year, this is a pretty blah cover. Nothing really surprising or stunning. Moss looks all right. I’m underwhelmed.

Naomi Campbell is one of five models who have gone naked in a new series of ads for Dolce & Gabbana’s D&G Anthology line of perfumes.
Each of the scents is named for a Tarot card, and each with its own “iconic” model to promote it.
Naomi is the face of 3 L’Imperatrice, which is the Empress in the Tarot deck. The scent has notes of “watermelon, kiwi, pink cyclamen and musk,” which sounds like barf to me. But hey! I’m sure someone will love it. And hopefully Naomi won’t throw one of those bottles at anyone; they look dangerous.
Also appearing in the ads are Claudia Schiffer and Eva Herzigova. Check out the entire series here.

Lara Stone has been working steadily in the fashion arena for about 10 years, starting when she was discovered at 15 on a family vacation. The 25 year old beauty, who has a gap in her teeth, is bigger than most models today and has everything lined up against her, is thriving as sort of an anti-dote to the thin boyish frames and androgyny of many models. Consciencious of how she is perceived by fashionistas in the industry, Stone tries not to dwell on it too much, but does admit to letting it get to her on occasion.
[W Mag] You’re curvier than many other models. Did you ever feel pressured to change the way you look?
[Stone] I guess so. When I first lived in Paris I was a lot skinnier, and also a lot younger. It’s still like that [the girls] are skinnier and younger. I mean it’s not so great for me. It is a bit of pressure. I’m still working enough as it is - but I don’t want to be the only fat one. If you know what I mean.
[W Mag] The irony, of course, is that you aren’t fat at all.
[Stone] I never really know what to say about the whole body thing. I try not obsess, really. Most things fit, and then somethings really don’t fit, and they have a seamstress fix it. I went through kind of a big change a few months ago, and I decided I want to be healthy, not just skinnier but healthier.
Stone’s figure is working for her now as the trend is beginning to shift toward models with more curves and more heightened sexuality. She has been described as having “x-rated lips” and a cross between “a warrior and Brigitte Bardot.” Stone’s body is reminiscent more of Cindy Crawford, Helena Christensen and Christy Turlington - the supermodels of the late 80’s. Ironically, they were on top until Kate Moss came along and the entire modelling world shifted gears. Fashion is so fickle.

Peaches Geldof has scored again with another set of gorgeous set of retro-themed ads for Miss Ultimo lingerie.  I think the previous set of promos was cuter, but somehow setting Peaches in a bowling alley is more glamorous.
And once again, I love it. I’m even going to refrain from any comments about Peaches playing with balls.
The model has nothing but praise for her employer’s products:
‘I love the stylish yet sexy 1950s feel of the whole collection. It appeals to a girl who can mix and match her underwear, to make undressing as fun as dressing. I like the different colours and styles. It’s sexy, but also kitsch and playful. Most of all, it’s comfortable and fits well.’
Seriously, this is beautiful modeling work. Brava!

Sophie Dahl has been known to turn heads. The model who has written three books including the cookbook: Miss Dahl’s Voluptous Delights, is now getting her own cooking show on BBC 2. The granddaughter of the great children’s author Roald Dahl, could give Nigella Lawson a run for her ‘Domestic Goddess’ money.
Dahl said: “For me, food is more than just fuel; it’s a joy and an adventure.
“Cooking often serves as an emotional barometer, and with this show we will run the gamut - from a solo dinner that suits melancholy, to a homecoming feast for 20; it’s cooking with an anecdotal thread, irreverent, unpredictable and not without flaw.”
Dahl has graced the covers of many magazines in the past, including Vogue and Elle. As well as hosting this upcoming cooking show, she is a guest writer on many fashion and food magazines. Perhaps her show will prove as popular as Lawson’s was and cross over to the US.

Olay Skincare is adding a familiar face to its advertising campaigns. Twiggy, the original supermodel, is coming back to be the face of the beauty brand 25 years after she first posed for the company. Olay Definity is the anti-ageing serums and creams that for 12 months, Twiggy will represent. On having the iconic sixties model work for them again, spokesperson Sarah Clarke said:
“We were thrilled to welcome Twiggy back to the brand. She is a true beauty icon who continues to be an inspiration to millions of women across the UK.”

What that is exactly, no one quite knows yet, but Chanel is launching ahead with Jen Brill, Poppy Delevingne, Caroline Seiber, Vanessa Traina and Leigh Lezark as head of the program.
