WATCH: ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Trailer: Unintelligible Bane & Catwoman’s Occupy Wall Street Warning

The Dark Knight Rises

Christopher Nolan‘s latest take in the Batman mythos is still months away from hitting the big screen but the first theatrical trailer has appeared to whet our appetite for more.

The Dark Knight Rises trailer is causing massive buzz among fans already.

Tom Hardy gets his mask on as the super villain Bale and while he’s evil and menacing, many are complaining of having trouble understanding what he says thanks to that mask. (For the record, I don’t think it was that bad. It was a bit garbled for a moment but nothing terrible.)

One of the more intriguing aspects of the storyline is the warning Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) delivers to Bruce Wayne/Batman (Christian Bale.)

Nolan was rumored to have wanted to shoot scenes in Zuccotti Park in New York City where the Occupy Wall Street protesters are located but that didn’t happen. Instead it looks like the director is letting Catwoman voice the sentiments of the people taking part in the ongoing demonstration.

“A storm is coming, Mr. Wayne,” Kyle whispers in Bruce’s ear. “You and your friends better batten down the hatches because when it hits, you’re all going to wonder how you ever thought how you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us”

Add that to Bane’s destruction of the football field – taking out the pricey athletes and coaches – not the everyday Joe sitting in the stands – and this film just might have more political undertones to it than your normal superhero summer blockbuster studio fare.

But Nolan isn’t known for taking the average route.

Check the trailer below and tell us what you think of the first look. (Read the article)

Are Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson ‘Dirty Old Men’?

morgan-freemanamd_nicholson

Morgan Freeman is ready to be in a new movie tentatively titled Dirty Old Men, with hopes of Jack Nicholson joining in.

Warner Bros. is pre-emptively picking up an untitled comedy spec by Josh Cagan and Greg Coolidge to which Morgan Freeman is attached to star and Peter Segal is eyeing to direct.

Lori McCreary, Freeman’s producing partner at the duo’s Revelations Entertainment banner, will produce with Segal and his producing partner, Callahan Filmworks’ Michael Ewing. Freeman will exec produce.

The script, which had a working title of “Dirty Old Men,” revolves around an aging playboy who finally meets the love of his life and his best friend and wingman for the past 40 years (Freeman) who does everything to break up the new couple. The tone is described as similar to “Wedding Crashers” and “The 40-Year-Old Virgin.”

The studio would love to have Jack Nicholson reteam with Freeman on the film; the pair starred in Warners’ 2007 hit comedy “The Bucket List.” Nicholson is not attached to the project but is aware of it.

Hopefully Nicholson will join in on the fun. The two of them together in this movie sounds like a perfect match.

Clint Eastwood’s ‘Invictus’ Trailer Starring Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman

invictus1

Here is the trailer for the upcoming film Invictus from director Clint Eastwood starring Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman.

This movie is probably going to be good and everything, but it just looks boring to me. Hopefully it’s very enthralling, I’ll watch it based on the fact that Eastwood directed it.

Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon on New ‘Invictus’ Poster from Clint Eastwood

invictus

Here’s the new poster for the upcoming Clint Eastwood film Invictus starring Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon.

The film tells the inspiring true story of how Nelson Mandela joined forces with the captain of South Africa’s rugby team to help unite their country. Newly elected President Mandela knows his nation remains racially and economically divided in the wake of apartheid. Believing he can bring his people together through the universal language of sport, Mandela rallies South Africa’s rugby team as they make their historic run to the 1995 Rugby World Cup Championship match.

Doesn’t sound like a very exciting movie, in fact it sounds boring. But hey, this is Clint Eastwood directing, I’m sure its a good film. It just seems odd.
