Everyone’s Dishing On ‘Breaking Dawn 2′ Ending (Spoiler Alert!)

Breaking Dawn Part 2 Poster

The stars of Twilight Saga:  Breaking Dawn 2 just can’t keep quiet about their upcoming movie.   All the major players are on a press blitz ahead of the film’s November 16th release date, and with each appearance a little more information gets leaked.  (Strategically designed to get Twihards even MORE hyped about the final installment in the Twilight franchise?  Probably.)

Robert Pattinson Cozies Up To Fans In Australia

Taylor Lautner appeared on Jay Leno on Wednesday night.  When pressed, Lautner revealed that the movie might not end exactly the way fans expect.  He said:

“There’s a very thin line, because the fans would freak on us if we changed anything too much, but I can confirm there is a twist.”

Speaking at a press conference, Kristen Stewart revealed a smidgen more about the movie’s final scene:

“I wish I had a better way of saying it, but it’s crazy. It’s so crazy….it’s a nice little knife twist as well.  You’re like, ‘Really it’s over?’ And we’ll give you one more little—I love that thing, I think it’s really great.”

Breaking Dawn 2: Hot Vampire Couple Kellan Lutz & Nikki Reed Meet Fans In Dublin, Ireland

“That thing”… hmmm, what might that “thing be? Perhaps series author Stephenie Meyer can shed some light here.  She told MTV:

“There’s no way not to [be emotional] with the end of this one. [Director] Bill [Condon] has a very good sense of how to really wring your emotions. He put the end together in such a way that I don’t think you cannot have a moment. I can only imagine the fans will really appreciate that moment of reflection.”

A small change to the plot, a knife twist, an emotional moment of reflection.  Enough to whet your Twilight appetite?

Disney Purchases Lucasfilm For $4 BILLION, Promises New Star Wars Film In 2015

Disney and Lucasfilm

Has George Lucas gone over to the dark side?

In a joint statement, the Star Wars creator and Disney CEO Bob Iger announced today that the entertainment behemoth has acquired Lucasfilm in a cash and stock deal valued at $4.05 billion.

Fans can also expect a new Star Wars movie in 2015, with subsequent films every two to three years following.

Lucasfilm co-chair Kathleen Kennedy will become the new president of the company, reporting to Walt Disney Studios chair Alan Horn.  Kennedy will be the executive producer on new films in the franchise, which Lucas serve as creative consultant.  He explained his decision to sell his company:

“For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next.  It’s now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers. I’ve always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime. I’m confident that with Lucasfilm under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy, and having a new home within the Disney organization, Star Wars will certainly live on and flourish for many generations to come. Disney’s reach and experience give Lucasfilm the opportunity to blaze new trails in film, television, interactive media, theme parks, live entertainment and consumer products.”

Are there even any trails left for Star Wars to blaze in these areas, especially that of consumer products?  One thing’s for sure:  if Disney can’t do it, no one can.

Fans – what do you think of this acquisition?  Are you excited about new Star Wars films, or worried that the franchise will just become Disneyfied?  Sound off in the comments, and may the force be with this new partnership.

Victoria Justice Brings A Pop Of Color To ‘Fun Size’ Premiere

Victoria Justice

It’s always sunny in Los Angeles, at least when Victoria Justice is around.  She lit up the red carpet at the premiere of her current movie, Fun Size, in a yellow minidress by Versace.  Love the contrast of her dark hair on the yellow, and her red nails and lipstick, but I’m not so sure what I think of that sculptural detail on the left side of her dress.  It looks like a shoulder pad that migrated to the wrong part of the garment.  Still, though, I think Justice is adorable, and if anyone can pull off that kind of thing, it’s her and her little 19 year old body.

In Fun Size, Justice plays Wren, an older sister tasked with babysitting her little brother (Jackson Nicoll) on Halloween.  He gets lost, and she has to find him before their mom (Chelsea Handler) finds out he’s missing.  She gets by with a little help from her friend April (Jane Levy) and two nerdy guys they enlist for the cause (Osric Chau and Thomas Mann).   Silly, light-hearted Nickelodeon fun.

Chasing Mavericks

Heading out to the movies this weekend?  You might enjoy one of these flicks, opening today:

Cloud Atlas:  A tale that spans centuries and cultures as it illustrates how everything is interconnected.   The ensemble cast is nearly as epic as the story, and includes Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Doona Bae and Hugh Grant who all play multiple roles.  Written by Lana Wachowski and Andy Wachowski (The Matrix movies, V For Vendetta).

Chasing MavericksGerard Butler plays Frosty Hesson, the guru of the late professional surfer Jay Moriarty.  In 1990, Hesson took the then 12 year old Moriarty under his wing and trained him to surf Northern California’s legendary Maverick’s, home to huge waves and massive wipeouts.   Also stars Jonny Weston as Moriarty, Elisabeth Shue, Abigail Spencer and Leven Rambin.

Fun Size – A Halloween teen flick starring Victoria Justice.  Older sister told to babysit, little brother lost, hilarity ensues as she and her friends try to find him before Mom finds out.  Chelsea Handler also stars.

The Women Of ‘Skyfall’: Dazzling And Daring At London World Premiere

Berenice Marlohe

The latest movie in the James Bond series, Skyfall, premiered last night in London. While the male members of the cast played it safe with basic black tuxedos, the women went full bore with the red carpet glamor.

Bérénice Marlohe wore a red Vivienne Westwood gown with a gathered skirt and bustle.   Dame Judi Dench opted for an unadorned white gown with matching floor-length jacket – very striking in its simplicity and elegance.  Helen McCrory wore a champagne, princess-cut dress with an embellished bodice and poufy skirt.

The real fashion risk-taker of the night was Naomie Harris.  Her two-piece gown by London designer Marios Schwab consisted of a sequined bodysuit and a black sheer overdress.  It’s got a futuristic feeling to it somehow.  Schwab included a few variations on this theme in his Autumn/Winter 2012 collection.  Harris’ look is never boring, and I completely appreciate her for keeping it fresh on the red carpet.

Plenty Of Assets On Display At Skyfall World Premiere: Kelly Brook, Tamara Ecclestone & More

Tamara EcclestoneKelly Brook

Last night’s Skyfall premiere was awash in stars ready to celebrate the latest film in the James Bond franchise.  The night also marked the 50 year anniversary of the first Bond movie, Dr. No, starring Sean Connery as 007.  Here’s a peek at who attended and what they wore.

Kelly Brook sparkled in a silver gown with a dipping neckline that showed off considerable cleavage.  Not to be outdone, Tamara Ecclestone donned a green velvet number with a high slit and a neckline ended somewhere just above her navel.  Now that’s a wardrobe malfunction just waiting to happen.

Keep reading to see more pictures of the amply-endowed Brook and Ecclestone, as well as these Skyfall premiere attendees: Minnie Driver, Boris Becker and wife Lilly BeckerSam Taylor-Wood and Aaron Johnson and Bear Grylls wearing Union Jack pants with his tuxedo shirt and jacket.  That alone is worth the click, trust me.  Hail Britannia!

Daniel Craig

I can’t think of anything more appropriate to wear to a 007 event than a classic tuxedo.  Skyfall‘s male cast members – Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes – did not disappoint at the movie’s world premiere last night at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Skyfall is the 23rd film in the James Bond franchise.   Daniel Craig stars in his third turn as Bond, opposite Javier Bardem’s villain, cyberterrorist Raul Silva. Its title song, “Skyfall,” was performed and co-written by Adele; the track skyrocketed to the number one spot in iTunes’ UK store just ten hours after it was released on October 5.

Angelina Jolie Scores ‘Maleficent’ Roles For Her Kids

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie has ensured that her upcoming movie Maleficent is a family affair.  She’s secured roles for three of her six children in the film.

With Jolie in the title role, Maleficent takes a closer look at the evil witch who put a curse on Princess Aurora, also known as Sleeping Beauty.   Her daughter Vivienne Jolie-Pitt (4) will play a young Aurora, who is later portrayed by Elle Fanning.  Vivienne’s siblings Pax Jolie-Pitt (8) and Zahara Jolie-Pitt (7) will also appear in Maleficent, but in non-speaking roles.

Their sister Shiloh has already had a turn on the silver screen; she had a small part in her father Brad Pitt‘s movie The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.

With two über A-list parents, it’s no surprise that the Jolie-Pitt kids are venturing into the family business – celebs’ children do it all the time.  Do you think Brangelina’s brood will make a career in entertainment?  Comment and tell us what you think.

‘Iron Man 3′ Trailer Is Here – Tony Stark’s World Is Turned Upside Down By Villian Mandarin

Tony Stark is taking a page from Bruce Wayne’s playbook.

The first Iron Man 3 trailer shows how influential Christopher Nolan‘s summer hit, The Dark Knight Rises is on the superhero genre.

Robert Downey Jr.’s snark is noticeably absent, the tone is darker and the villian, the Mandarin (Sir Ben Kingsley) is much more menacing.

Stark finds himself in all sorts of scrapes and has a load of new armor which is glimpsed in the trailer, but it’s Kingsley’s uttering that is surely the most TDKR/Bane-like.

“Some people call me a terrorist. I consider myself a teacherrrr,” Mandarin threatens.

“Lesson number 1: Heroes. There is no such thing.”

Iron Man 3 opens May 3, 2013.
