Where’s Alanis Morissette been lately? Apparently licking her wounds over Ryan Reynolds breaking their engagement and then hooking up with younger, hotter model Scarlett Johansson about 13 minutes later.

And surprise surprise, now that RyJo have announced THEIR engagement, Alanis has some things to say.

“I took a break over the past two and half years. I was tending to my personal life,” says the singer… During that time, she says she hit “rock bottom” due to “a personal unraveling of significant relationships in my life.”

She channeled her feelings into songs for her album due on June 10th, Flavors of Entanglement. Come on, Alanis, lyrics like It was a slap in the face/How quickly I was replaced/And are you thinking of me when you f… her? are sooooo 1990s.

You can’t ever say that Nine Inch Nails doesn’t care! Today they are offering their latest album, The Slip, free to download on their site.

The ten-track album is available in several formats including MP3, FLAC, M4A or 24/96 WAVE.

The download also includes a pdf with artwork and credit. The band also said for those fans who still like physical formats, a vinyl and CD format will be out in July.

“We encourage you to remix it, share it with your friends, post it on your blog, play it on your podcast, give it to strangers etc,” Nine Inch Nails said on the site.

On the site, the band added: “Thank you for your continued support and loyal support over the years. This one’s on me.”

Now that is awesome!!! And from the comments on the site, all the fans think it’s great too!

Kylie Minogue’s X2008 Tour begins in Paris this Tuesday. Between the geisha aesthetic and the video below, I confess I am both deeply curious and rather scared of this tour. White women always look kind of creepy with the geisha makeup on (IMO). The 1980s shoulder pads in the kimono don’t help either!

By all reports, Prince deserves some kind of reward for rocking the freakin’ house at Coachella this past weekend.    I, however, would like to give an award to the photog who captured the moment above.  What in the world is going on here?  He was either in the middle of one of the Morris Day covers in his set list, or he really, really needed to pee (or maybe he pulled a Fergie and just DID…..)!!

It’s never too early to attend your first music festival, right?  At least that’s daddy Joel Madden’s philosophy.  He took three and a half month old Harlow and mom Nicole Richie to the Southern California desert to hang out at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival this weekend!

“[Nicole] hasn’t been able to do a whole lot over the year, so we’re having a little family trip,” Madden told PEOPLE at the BPM Hpnotiq Smurf House, where he DJ’d a festival pre-party Saturday afternoon.

I’m sure this is only the first of many cool experiences in the life of little Harlow.  Ah, to be a celebrity baby!

emzy.collins, 25, loves music. That is evident in this emerging artist’s songs. The way he plays, the way he sings, the music moves you. emzy started playing music at a young age. In family pictures you can see him holding onto a mandolin that is practically the same size as him, with the biggest grin on his face, in another you can see him using a bucket for a drum.

emzy brings a passion to his music whether he is playing the piano or the guitar, you can see he loves every minute of it. It drives him. That sparkle in his eye will get you every time.

I got a chance to do another interview with emzy about things going on and his life right now. I first interviewed him in January after I found his music on MySpace. I found his music easy to get lost in, and when you listen to it you forget everything else but what he is singing.

Taylor Blue: If you were stranded on an island, and only had three things with you, what would they be? (And no boats allowed!!

emzy.collins: I would like to have a Kawai grand piano, a guitar, and my dog, Coby. I have watched a great deal of both Survivor Man and Man vs Wild, so I think I am ready.

T: When I first met you because of a song you wrote inspired by Heath Ledger, “We’re All Standing“, what kind of response did you get from others from that song?

e: Overall, it was a very good response. Some songs are easier to complete; this was one of those songs. I had the whole movie/idea playing in my head crystal clear.

T: That song is awesome live! How would you classify your music?

e: The answer I would like to say is I don’t. I would like to be able to think without a box around me, but I understand most listeners would like some sort of a base to start from (i.e., pop, rock, heavy metal). But to give the answer most people would like, I will say Ambient pop.

T: What inspires you the most to write??

e: My imagination and my heart..

The first single from Scarlett Johansson’s new Tom Waits cover album Anywhere I Lay My Head has been released.  It’s called “Falling Down.”

Here are my thoughts on it:

The singing really isn’t as good as it could be, but maybe that’s the point?  It’s not like Tom Waits was a good singer, he was just distinctive.  The background vocals and music is really pretty in that haunting way, though.  Basically, I was unimpressed at the beginning of the song but was won over by the end.  I’ve listened to it a bajillion times because of that.  In a world of Paris Hilton and Heidi Montag cringeworthy pop albums, I say kudos to Scarlett for having the balls to try something different!

But, if you want to hear how beautifully Scarlett can REALLY sing, I’d suggest checking out her version of “Summertime” done for a charity album called Unexpected Dreams–Songs from the Stars.  You can listen to “Summertime” here.

The Juno’s (Canadian Music Awards) were last night, April 6. I was really bummed because it was held in Calgary, Alberta…and that’s really close to where I live. Calgary was buzzing since about Thursday with free concerts and meet and greets. (I didn’t get to go to one of them!!!)

Feist, who is from Calgary, won five Juno’s: Single of the Year; Pop Album of the Year; Album of the Year; Songwriter of the Year; and Artist of the Year!! What a year for her since she made it famous singing the IPOD commercial!!

When Gwen Stefani first broke away from No Doubt and went solo, I’m sure none of us expected the kind of super-stardom she would gain from it.  Now with another baby on the way, she thinks it is a good time for a reunion.  Do you think they will be successful if they get back together?

Gwen recently posted the following update to the official No Doubt message board:

Been thinking so much about you all lately as I am back in the studio again with the boys trying to write some new music. What an amazing few years it has been. So inspired going through the dance record phase of my life. Thank you so much for all your support! The tour was incredible. We ended up doing over 100 shows around the world and it was so rewarding and again inspiring. Thank you to everyone who came out to see it…memories for life! Great to be home with with all my boys. Feels crazy to be pregnant all over again!!!!! We have been spending every day up in the little studio in our house trying to write music. My favorite part so far is just seeing the guys everyday and hanging out. We have so much fun together. The songwriting part is a bit slow on my part…I think it has something to do with the baby in my belly but I’m sure it is all of the process and I really believe this could be the most inspired No Doubt record so far. Singer Sheryl Crow was boasting about joining Fleetwood Mac for their summer 2009 concert tour, but apparently not everyone in the mega supergroup is on board with her as the final replacement for Christine McVie who retired from the band years ago.

He [Lindsey Buckingham] tells Billboard.com, “I don’t think anything is written in stone yet. I think we were all a little surprised she was announcing that to the world with such certainty. We have talked about the possibility of bringing another woman into the scene to kind of give Stevie (Nicks) a sort of foil and shake it up a little bit (and) she was certainly a name that has come up. We’ll have to see.”

It certainly would be a great show with Nicks, Crow and Buckingham all in the line up. Buckingham is also confirming that new music is being written for the new album next year.

Leave it up to a pregnant Jessica Alba to do a music video to help out her fiancee, Cash Warren.

Jessica is seen lip-synching to Panic At The Disco’s Back to the Streets in the video which has been posted on new site Ibeatyou.com, co-owned by Warren and his friend basketball player Baron Davis.

I love these videos and Jessica adds something special to them!! Jessica even posted about it on her MySpace page:

Rock gods Led Zepplin reunited for a one time performance in London in December after a long drought of 27 years apart. After the performance, the band was in demand to do the reunion tour and make gobs of money but so far, they haven’t confirmed anything. It appeared that Duff McKagen of Velvet Revolver let the cat out the bag by confirming they would be the opening act. However guitarist Slash is denying those reports and squashing the summer concert concept of the two bands together.

He says, “There’s been a huge rumor going arond about us opening for them and I think that was something that was taken out of context.”

And the legendary guitarist is adamant that if the Robert Plant-fronted group is to hit the road, it won’t be for a while yet.

He adds, “As far as Zeppelin doing a tour, that remains to be seen. I saw Robert last night and he’s got his solo thing going on and as far as Velvet Revolver is concerned, we’ve got another record to do and we’re not even thinking about that.”

Now that would be a great tour, but it doesn’t appear to be reality.

Fans have waited a very very long time for British pop superstar George Michael to return to the US and tour. After 17 years, the former Wham! frontman will hit the arenas for 22 dates in Canada and the US starting in June.

The 22-date arena tour will run through August 3. While his international appeal remains strong, Michael’s popularity in the US has weakened over the past decade, although his last album, 2004’s Patience, peaked at no.12 thanks to an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

Michael, 44, rose to fame in the early 1980s as one half of the singing sensation Wham! and later released his solo debut album, 1987’s Faith, which sold an excess of 10 million copies in the US. Hit singles on that album included “Father Figure”, “I Want Your Sex” and the title track, “Faith”.

Michael has an album to promote, due out in April called “Twenty Five.” You may have also seen him recently on the premiere episode of the show “Eli Stone” on ABC.
