Naomi Watts is on the cover of More for October 2011, all tousled, soft and ethereal.  It’s a perfect look to accompany a frank and accessible interview in which she discusses a variety of subjects, including her father’s early death, parenting, and how she caught the attention of her current partner Liev Schreiber.   She also speaks fondly about her two-year relationship with the late Heath Ledger, whom she dated from 2002 – 2004.

“We had a beautiful relationship, only a couple of years, but he was a man who was completely full of joy, and there was a lot of laughing and affection. He was really a very special soul and made a great impact on my life. And a great actor, but I know there was so much more to come. And it’s a tragedy for his little daughter.”

Ledger died in January 2008 from a prescription drug overdose, leaving behind his daughter, Matilda, whose mother is actress Michelle Williams.

Naomi Watts was a vision in casual white at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic.  The fedora is a jaunty addition, and I really quite love her lace-up oxford shoes.  Definitely a fun, very different look from all the sandals and peep-toes on the red carpet these days.

Her dress is cute, if a bit shapeless, but doesn’t it look familiar?  It does to me.  She wore a similar, if not the same, garment at the Israel Film Festival last month.   I know Naomi loves to wear white (and she looks great in it), but how many white, knee-length dresses with asymmetrical hems does a girl need?

Naomi Watts & Kelly Killoren-Bensimon went to the 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards held at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall in New York City Monday night.

Watts, 42, shimmered in pale gold embroidered silk shift dress from Calvin Klein.

Killoren-Bensimon chose a sheer gown from Azzedine Alaia for the awards.

The Real Housewives star also interviewed some celebs as fashion correspondent for Extra!

“Almost ready to interivew [sic] @andersoncooper and @ladygaga at CFDA. Im proud to be fashion host for EXTRA,” she tweeted.

It’s film festival season, and Naomi Watts has been making the rounds.  This week she attended the Israel Film Festival, celebrating it’s 25th year, with her husband Liev Schreiber.  Liev was there to receive the IFF Achievement In Film Award in recognition of his prolific career (over 40 films to date!).

The Festival founder Meir Fenigstein praised Liev’s work:

“Liev Schreiber is the perfect choice to receive this award as he is one of the most admired and respected actors working today. His incredible work in an impressive variety of films has entertained and inspired audiences worldwide.”

Pantene is grabbing two hot actress to be their new celebrity brand ambassadors: Eva Mendes & Naomi Watts.

E! Online is reporting the duo has signed on to a multi-million dollar contract with the two stars for print, online and television ads ready to launch in July.

“With their undeniable beauty and confidence that women admire, Eva and Naomi are wonderful additions to the Pantene family,” said Pantene spokeswoman Julie Marchant-Houle.

Mendes will be the face of Pantene’s Breakage to Strength line and Watts has the Flat to Volume duties under control.

Naomi Watts turned up for the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival Chanel Artists Dinner held at the Odeon restaurant in New York on Monday night.

The actress wore a chic sleeveless shift dress from Chanel and kept her hair elegant and simply styled.

Watts was asked by USA Today what she owns from the fashion house.

“How much Chanel do I own? I don’t own a lot,” the actress said. “But every now and again, they send treats my way. My favorite is a patchwork handbag of mine.”

Naomi Watts recently talked with the New York Daily News and revealed that she does the same work-motherhood-relationship balancing act that most of us moms have to do every day:

“I see myself as any other woman.  Every day I’m struggling to get it right, be a good mother and have time for my relationship with Liev [Schreiber]. I’m not sure whether I’m doing any of it right, but I’ve finally got to the age where at least I know that I’m just doing my best.”

And that’s all you really can do. But as I always say when stars try to tell us that they are just like the rest of us… try doing it all for just one day without your staff, and see what it’s really like to be the rest of us!

Naomi has a bunch of movies coming up, including Woody Allen‘s You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger, Mother and Child, Fair Game, and Dream House.

Getting actress Penelope Cruz to guest edit the May edition of French Vogue really came with some perks namely Meryl Streep, Gwyneth Paltrow, Julianne Moore, Naomi Watts, Kate Winslet and Bono, to name a few. The actresses all appear together on one cover in Gap t-shirts that benefit Bono’s ONE charity. The other two alterna-covers have Penny cozied up to Bono for one and Cruz wrapping herself around Meryl on the other.

Actress Liraz Charhi is joining Naomi Watts and Sean Penn for the upcoming film Fair Game.

The Israeli actress has been cast in “Fair Game,” the Doug Liman-directed drama about outed CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson. Naomi Watts already has been cast as Plame. Sean Penn plays her husband, ambassador Joseph Wilson.

Charhi will play Sawsan, an Iraqi doctor in Cleveland whom Plame sends undercover to Baghdad to gather intelligence on Saddam Hussein’s nuclear program in exchange for bringing her brother to the U.S.

The movie centers on how Plame’s status was compromised because of a leak from the Bush administration, allegedly in retaliation for a 2003 op-ed piece her husband wrote claiming the administration manipulated intelligence on Iraq.

Sounds like a very intriguing film, with some great actors. I’m looking forward to seeing more about this one.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban took their beautiful daughter, Sunday Rose down to Australia to celebrate Easter with Nicole’s family.

I think that Nicole looks so amazing.  Sunday is only 9 months old and Nicole looks like she was never pregnant!  She has always been in such good shape and has that natural beauty.

Sunday Rose looks just like her daddy, don’t you think?

Up next for Nicole is a film with her BFF Naomi Watts, Need.  I have enjoyed Nicole Kidman since her early beginnings on Five Mile Creek.  She is so talented.
