Photo Of The Day: Neil Patrick Harris And Zachary Levi Serve Up T-Day Dinner At L.A. Mission

Neil Patrick Harris and Zachary Levi

Neil Patrick Harris and Zachary Levi were just two of an entire army of stars who volunteered at the Los Angeles Mission today.   They helped serve 4,000 meals to the city’s homeless in the organization’s 76th Thanksgiving Celebration.  Celebs dished up plates of smoked turkey, twice-baked potatoes, corn and maple stuffing, spaghetti squash casserole, veggies and pumpkin pie.  This year’s event had a little extra sprinkling of Hollywood star power:  the menu was created by Top Chef champ and Ink proprietor Michael Voltaggio.

2012 Tony Awards: ‘Once’ Dominates With Eight Wins

Neil Patrick Harris took center stage and hosted the 66th Annual Tony Awards at the Beacon Theater in New York City Sunday night.

The romantic musical drama Once pushed all the competition away more than once for eight wins, including Best Musical and Best Actor. Peter and the Starcatcher was the next most awarded show with five trophies for the evening ceremony. Clybourne Park landed the top honors for Best Play.

Death of A Salesman won for Best Revival and Oscar-winning director Mike Nichols took the category Best Staging for his work on the Arthur Miller play.

Hugh Jackman was awarded a Special Tony Award by his wife, Deborra Lee Furness, for his work on stage and promoting theater work.

Lots of Hollywood stars turned out for the theater event. Ricky Martin, Jessica Chastain, Sheryl Crow, Amanda Seyfried, Nick Jonas, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone were just some of the nominated, performers, presenters and supporters on hand.

Even with all that star power, the Tony Awards broadcast on CBS was down 17% from the previous year.

Neil Patrick Harris ‘The Smurfs’ Movie Is ‘Sweet And Sentimental’

Cutting a dashing figure on the blue carpet, Neil Patrick Harris attended the premiere of his new film, The Smurfs at New York City’s Ziegfeld Theatre.

The 38 year-old star, who suited up in a pinstripe Dolce & Gabbana for the event, said he was pleasantly surprised by the genuineness of the movie.

“[...]And it’s also weirdly sweet and sentimental, the movie, which I wasn’t expecting, to be kind of moved a couple of times by the adult sweetness of it,” the How I Met Your Mother actor revealed. “Which felt authentic and not too sugary.”

Neil Patrick Harris & David Burtka Are Engaged!

I cannot help but squeal a little bit while I type these words:  the most adorable gay couple ever, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, are (and have been) engaged!

On Friday, NPH exuberantly Tweeted his excitement at the news of New York State legalizing same-sex marriage:

“It PASSED!  Marriage equality in NY!! Yes!! Progress!! Thank you everyone who worked so hard on this!! A historic night!!”

He also revealed that he and Burtka have been engaged for over five years, “wearing engagement rings for ages, waiting for an available date.”   Well, since they live in California, that date might yet be a long time coming, so perhaps they’ll consider a New York wedding.

Congratulations Neil and David!

Neil Patrick Harris will suit up to host the 2011 Tony Awards again.

The How I Met Your Mother actor previously emceed the event in 2009 and won an Emmy for his closing musical number and CBS is set to give him another try.
