It was wedding bells today for Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo.

The couple tied the knot in a small ceremony on top of a cliff on the gorgeous and secluded Necker Island, owned by Sir Richard Branson.

Minnillo, who donned a two piece Monique Lhuillier wedding dress (Lachey wore a Dolce & Gabbana suit) said guests were in the dark about what was really going on.

“Nobody knew where they were going,” Minnillo revealed.

“Our wedding invitations were in the form of a plane ticket,” Lachey added. “We told them they were going away and the attire was ‘island chic.’ It was all very vague.”

While Lachey, 37, and Minnillo, 30, exchanged vows, a TLC camera crew was on hand to document the nuptials for an upcoming special.

The singer said he and Vanessa thought long and hard before saying yes to the cameras at their wedding.

“We kind of wrestled with that for a while, for obvious reasons,” Lachey said. “Having done reality TV in the past, I didn’t necessarily want to jump right back into it without having thought it through to great length, and we did.”

Lachey is no stranger to reality TV programming. He and his first wife, Jessica Simpson, were turned into huge stars with their MTV show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. Minnillo hosted the Ashton Kutcher-produced reality competition True Beauty.

Lachey and Minnillo began dating in 2006 and became engaged in November of 2010.

Vanessa Minnillo is going to marry Nick Lachey at long last, and she celebrated her upcoming nuptials with a bachelorette party in Las Vegas.  She partied at the Lavo Nightclub in the The Palazzo Resort and Casino.

The exact date of their wedding is being kept under wraps, but given that they’ve just had a wedding shower, and she’s having a bachelorette party, it can’t be far away.  Unless this is all just intended to throw all of us celebrity writers off.

Either way, Vanessa looked cute in a peach-colored mini-dress.  It’s a a fairly conservative style, but something so very form fitting can’t exactly be called entirely modest.

Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo will head to CBS for a guest spot on Hawaii Five-O.

The real-life engaged couple will play a (wait for it…) fictional engaged couple. Minnillo’s character will work on a cruise ship that finds itself on the wrong end of maritime pirates.

The reboot of the classic TV show has been a standout hit for the Tiffany Network and stars Daniel Dae Kim, Alex O’Laughlin, Scott Caan and Grace Park.

Lachey and Minnillo’s episode is slated for February sweeps.

Nick Lachey finally popped the question to Vanessa Minnillo and the two are officially engaged.  They gave a joint statement,

“We’re excited and incredibly happy about our engagement and we look forward to a wonderful future together.”

Nick gave Vanessa who he’s been with since 2006 an Asscher-cut diamond with baguettes from Bader & Garrin.  They haven’t shared a photo yet, but I can tell you that is an amazing ring.  As soon as they share, I’ll show you!

Nick had to go to Twitter to make sure all his fans knew the engagement is legit,

“Hey all. If anyone’s heard the rumors of my engagement, they are absolutely true! Vanessa and I couldn’t be happier. Thanks for all the love.”

That is really cute.  Congrats to the happy couple!

Vanessa Minnillo chatted with Parade and it wasn’t about your normal celebrity gossip stuff either.  Vanessa was more than open about her love life with Nick Lachey.

She took us to the shower scene…. the one they play out at least twice daily….

“We shower, honestly, at least twice a day.  We shower in the morning and we shower at some point during the day or before bed. It’s so funny because we’ve turned it into an intimate time for each other.  We both have our own shower heads, so we just talk while we’re soaping up and doing our hair.”

TMI, ya think?  Sure, they aren’t our parents… but come on…..  Oh no, there’s more.  Minnillo is very onto this shower thing,

“It’s not a sexual thing and it’s not a romantic thing, it just becomes an intimate thing. You’re in your full form, so to speak, and you’re vulnerable and we just both let our guard down. I’ve had some of my most intimate conversations with him in the shower.”

I am sure that all that happens in the shower is a lot of conversation…. that what two hot, naked, wet people do in the shower….

It looks like Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo are heating up their relationship once again. The hot couple was spotted out at Billy Marks West Bar in New York City on Tuesday night (September 1st) and they were very focused on each other,

“They were both there to celebrate a friend’s birthday. They stood by the bar the entire time, talking pretty much only to each other.”

“It was more in how serious they looked at each other that told you that they were more than just friends.”

I think they were ‘subtlety announcing’ their on again relationship status when they held hands outside the bar while they waited for their shared cab ride home.

What do you think? Are they getting serious again? Will we hear wedding bells soon? One thing is for sure, this will be a new dagger in single Jessica Simpson’s lonely heart.

So, Jessica Simpson gets dumped by the second man of her dreams, Tony Romo as a lovely birthday present.  Poor girl. Jess has been staying out of the spotlight since the breakup.  Her ex-husband, Nick Lachey on the other hand is talking about it, a little.

“I certainly have heard about her breakup and I wish her the best, as I’ve always done. Aside from that, there really is nothing to say.”

“I haven’t talked to her in probably two years,” Lachey says. “I wish her happiness. That’s where it pretty much ends.”

Wow, could he be more icy about it?  I think Jessica must have pushed him over the edge and he really wants to keep his distance from her.  Even when she might need his shoulder…

Nick is a single man once again since his breakup with Vanessa Minnillo. He’s doing just fine though, or so it seems…

“I’m in a good place,” he says. “I’ve learned, through years of not only being in this business, but being in relationships, that you have to take it as it goes. With every experience, you learn something about your life, and you try to take that and move on and be a better person because of it. We’ll see what happens.”

Good for you, Nick.  Glad you can move on with your life and not let women ruin it for you.  Live and let live, right?

Unfortunately for him, Nick Lachey is probably best known for his role in Newlyweds and his marriage to Jessica Simpson. But now with a new album coming out and a role as executive producer for the new MTV show Taking the Stage, Nick is growing up and really progressing in his career. He sat down with Life & Style Magazine, and here are some highlights:

“I don’t think you can expect to make money anymore in the music industry. You do it because you love to do it. I love to sing; I have no expectations on a business level. You put your best foot forward and be proud. The record business has been on a downward spiral for a long time.”

“I tell people all of the time, the biggest thing is don’t take no for answer. In 98 Degrees we were trying to get a record deal or just an answer or response with our first album. If we took no for answer, we would have packed it in immediately. But we didn’t. You can’t let it discourage you. It’s a demoralizing industry to your psyche, but you have to believe in your training.”

Former Newlywed Nick Lachey has hooked up with American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi… Oh, chill out! It’s just a musical duet, nothing risque.

“She and I wrote it together,” Lachey told Access Hollywood about his collaboration with DioGuardi, according to Us Weekly. “Initially, just in the studio, we thought, ‘All right, let’s sing it together and then we’ll maybe find someone else to be on it,’ but she did such a great job on it.”

The song, titled “Temporary,”�will be included�on Lachey’s upcoming album, Coming Up For Air.

DioGuardi has written for some of the biggest names including Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Santana, Pink and former American Idol winners Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. Makes me think this song might actually be halfway decent.
