Nicole Richie and Joel Madden tied the knot Saturday, December 11th, at the Los Angeles estate of her father, singer Lionel Richie. There were two tents erected in the backyard and a trained elephant was brought in for the evening affair. The menu included a choice of filet mignon or seared ahi tuna.

Richie and Madden invited 130 of their closest friends and family to celebrate with the duo who have been together for four years. Some of the guests included were Good Charlotte bandmate (and brother) Benji Madden, Sam Ronson, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale. The bride wore Marchesa.

Nicole Richie looks relaxed and sensational on the cover of Australia’s Sunday Telegraph magazine. The Winter Kate design mogul had this to say to about style, shoes and scarves:

SPLURGE ON SHOES
“If you’re going to spend on one thing, even when you’re on a budget, I’d say splash out on shoes. They make an outfit. And your feet don’t grow any more, so you can wear a good pair of shoes forever.”

EMBRACE FASHION HISTORY
“I’m a big vintage shopper and I love thrift stores. The beauty of anything vintage is that you’re not going to see lots of other people in the same thing. I like to be different.”

NEVER FORGET THE FINISHING TOUCHES.
“I wear a tonne of accessories. I love scarves. I’ve lost count of how many I have, but you can never have too many – they totally lift an outfit and make it individual.”

Richie was crowned Entrepeneur of the Year by Glamour UK for her growing fashion empire earlier this year. Richie will also guest star (again) as Heather Chandler on Chuck when the show returns this fall.

Come on.. we’ve all been there.  I have been there more than once.  What am I talking about?  Traffic school!  Nicole Richie was spotted leaving her session at traffic school down in Van Nuys, covering her face with her handbag.

The only thing I can think when looking at these snaps is, polar opposite.  Seriously, they couldn’t look more different.  Nicole Richie has gone back to dark hair.  I hate the outfit 100%.  There is nothing good about it.  Nicole looks drab.  Sorry girl, huge fan.  Just not of this look.

Then there’s Christina Aguilera.  I am a major fan of hers as well.  But is she trying to channel Courtney Love?  I know that her red lipstick is trademark.  But mixed with that awful haircut and ugly dress, I see Courtney.  Eww.

So my question is, who’s the worst mess?

Nicole Richie has fully recovered from her pneumonia and is hitting the streets getting in her Christmas shopping.  Pottery Barn Kids was on her list of spots to shop and it looks like she picked out some great stuff.  I love that store!  How great does Nicole look?  Not like she has two kids and just got through with pneumonia!

Could it be true?  Did Nicole Richie and Joel Madden tie the knot in a private ceremony?  The perfect couple with the perfect babies have a perfect little family, all that was left was the need to ‘put a ring on it’…. So, it looks like that’s just what they did!

Nicole and Harlow were spotted at the Griffith Park Train Museum over the weekend and a little something else was spotted on Nicole’s finger!  A wedding band!  The couple has been denying that they got married…so, if that were true, why would Nicole wear a ring of any kind on her ring finger?  If I wanted to douse the rumors, I would certainly not wear a ring on my ring finger!

Nicole Richie is venturing again into fashion territory. She already has a jewelry line, House of Harlow 1960, and a maternity line at Pea In A Pod that just premiered in August. Her expanding fashion empire now adds a new clothing line, Winter Kate. The 37 pieces will have the hippie chic look Richie has become famous for:

Tops, vests and bed jackets make up “Winter Kate,” which draws inspiration from Nicole’s own personal retro, bohemian fashion. But the mother of two also said that she drew inspiration from some of her favorite animals and birds, so expect a lot of funky colors. Additionally, the line will include easy to slip-in dresses, tunics and a kimono-sleeved, maxi dress.

The name for this line is inspired by her first born daughter, Harlow Winter Kate. She better start naming something after her second child soon or Sparrow James Midnight will be in therapy saying “Mom always did like Harlow best!” (Incidentally, I happen to love both the girls names.)

Her latest line will debut in stores in spring of 2010.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have big hearts.  They are proving this by making a huge difference in the lives of homeless children in downtown Los Angeles.

The busy parents of Harlow and Sparrow just broke ground on a playground at Beyond Shelter’s Broadway Village 2. They have been raising funds for over a year now for this project.

“It’s so rewarding to see the smile on these kids faces.  I spend tons of time here,” says Richie. “When I found out the kids play on a concrete slab or play inside all day, it hit me. Kids need to have an imagination, to be outside and to be free.”

Little Harlow will be spending time playing with the kids when the playground is completed,

“Now that she’s playground age, she can!” Adds Richie, “We started [the Richie-Madden Children's Foundation] so it could be something that our siblings, parents and our kids could all do together. It’s something we talk to her about all the time.”

I am very excited for the next project they have planned.  It’s an online registry for moms in need.  4EveryBaby is going to help expecting moms get ready to take care of their babies.  Wow, that is an amazing gift.

Thank you Nicole and Joel.  I hope this inspires more people to get up and make a difference!

Nicole Richie has already debuted her amazing post baby bod. Now just 6 weeks since little Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born, we get to see the pictures of his sweet face.

People Magazine got the first snaps and wow, Sparrow is so cute!  Just like his big sis, Harlow who is just 21 months herself.  Nicole and daddy, Joel Madden are happy parents,

“I couldn’t be happier.  The only thing you want is for your kids to be healthy and happy, and they are. I’m right where I belong.”

“I’m glad I had a girl before I had a boy,” says Richie. “She just loves him so much.” Adds the children’s proud papa, “She’s very gentle with him.”

Congrats on your beautiful family!  You are so blessed.  Good luck in the sleep department!

On Monday (October 5), Nicole Richie was driving her car when she was rear ended by a paparazzo.

Following the accident, Nicole was taken to the hospital complaining of some pain. Luckily, she has since returned home with no major injuries.

As for the photog who hit her?

The photographer, Eduardo Arrivebene, was arrested and charged with driving without a license. He has since been released on $1,225  bail.

Luckily, Nicole’s two children with boyfriend Joel Madden, Harlow and Sparrow were not in the car at the time of the accident.
