Oprah Winfrey has put a daring duo of talk show hosts on the cover of December 2009 O Magazine. She and a super glammed up Ellen DeGeneres grace two alternate covers promising readers “JOY!”
I hate it when they tart Ellen up. She is such a cute soft butch! Even if she is a Cover Girl (don’t even get me started on that), she doesn’t need all the war paint they often slap all over her. Leave the make up to her wife, Portia de Rossi! Shame on you, Oprah, for not letting Ellen be herself.
The good folks at that bastion of journalistic integrity, the National Enquirer, are claiming that Oprah Winfrey has only three years left to live. And why shouldn’t they claim this? They have it on good authority from “medical experts,” after all! The problem is, of course, her weight.
…according to experts who have reviewed her medical history… [h]er weight has soared to 250 pounds - and medical experts say that unless the 55-year-old talk-show queen undergoes lifesaving surgery to remove her thyroid, she’ll eat her way into an early grave.
Without the surgery, it’s unlikely that Oprah will ever be able to control her weight, and she could suffer a fatal heart attack or stroke, those experts warn.
Apparently it’s gotten so serious that Oprah is considering the surgery, but it’s going to be a “secret.”
A “close family insider” said:
“She’s down on herself for all the weight she’s gained, and even though she prides herself on being open and honest with her viewers, she’s considered having thyroid surgery, but not telling anyone.
Oh come on! Of course she’s going to tell her viewers - she’s Oprah! I bet you she’ll even Tweet about it! Assuming this is true, that is… consider the source, folks - consider the source.
It makes me laugh. I am sure Oprah meant for the caps to be on so she could announce to the world that she had finally arrived. And why not, she is practically royalty now. But really all I can see is this causing more fail whales for the rest of us. Everyone will want to join Twitter.
I was surprised Oprah hadn’t made a statement about the Chris Brown-Rihanna abuse scandal. Now she did. Oprah sent out a clear and loud message “He Will Hit You Again!” no matter how long it takes. Who is capable of doing it once will end up repeating it!
Rihanna should go on Oprah and tell the whole story since everyone is so eager about hearing it. I know we have read the horrific reports, seen the photo but there’s nothing better than the victim speaking up. If Rihanna spoke up, I bet she would see how insane it is the thought of forgiving Chris and getting back to the abuser.
Stylish First Lady Michelle Obama shares the cover of “O” Magazine with the famous media mogul Oprah Winfrey. Michelle opens up her home, talks about her new life in the White House and what’s keeping her real in an exclusive interview with Oprah.
Michelle also admits to be privileged to be able to live in what she calls the “people’s house”. Here are some highlights of Michelle Obama’s “O” Magazine interview:
Michelle on what she “knows for sure” in life: “I know that all I can do is be the best me that I can. And live life with some gusto. Giving back is a big part of that. How am I going to share this experience with the American people? I‘m always thinking about that.”
Michelle on how her daughters, 10-year-old Malia and 7-year-old Sasha, know dad is home: “Once someone on my staff e-mailed to tell me that the president was on his way. But you could already hear the helicopter, so it was like, well, no kidding.”
Michelle on her White House vision: “It’s a beautiful home. When you go out and come back, especially at night, with all the white lights on–it’s just beautiful. We feel privileged, and we feel a responsibility to make it feel like the people’s house. We have the good fortune of being able to sleep here, but this house belongs to America.”
Oprah Winfrey likes to “toot her own horn”, so to speak, so she went on BFF Gayle King’s radio show on SIRIUS XM’S Oprah & Friends channel to discuss the talk of her filling the Illinois senate seat vacated by Barack Obama. Here’s the scoop:
“I’m pretty amused by the whole thing.” The talk show host was speaking about comments made by Blagojevich during an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” Oprah told her good friend Gayle that she missed the GMA interview while she was exercising in the morning, but would have “fallen off the treadmill” if she had.
Blagojevich, accused of trying to sell the U.S. Senate seat formerly held by Obama to the highest bidder, told GMA: “She seemed to be someone who had helped Barack Obama in a significant way become president. She was obviously someone with a much broader bully pulpit than other senators.”
Oprah set the record straight with her best pal Gayle and when asked whether she would have considered accepting an offer for the senate seat, she said “absolutely not,” especially with her crazy schedule. However, she added that she is sure whe would make a good senator, but “I’m just not interested.”

Oprah Winfrey’s production company, Harpo, has reached a deal to make a move to HBO.
Kate Forte, head of Harpo Films, said Tuesday that Winfrey’s company wanted to make a more eclectic mix of programming than was available on broadcast TV, working with people who did not like the restrictions of commercial interruptions. She would not detail any of the future projects.
Winfrey has worked at ABC for 15 years, and her “Oprah Winfrey Presents” series has focused largely on movies positive or inspirational in tone. The most recent was an adaptation from a Mitch Albom book, “For One More Day,” about a drunk about to commit suicide who is saved by the ghost of his mother.
Winfrey’s movie starring Halle Berry, “Their Eyes Were Watching God,” was the most-watched television movie in six years at the time of its 2005 airing on ABC.
ABC wanted to extend the deal, but Harpo Films believed HBO was a better fit, Forte said. “This is really a dream come true for us,” she said.
I am so over Oprah. Isn’t it someone else’s turn yet?
Rumors have been swirling around that Oprah Winfrey had booked Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin to appear on her show. Because she’s a woman, right, and therefore should be interviewed by Oprah, rather than someone harder hitting like, oh, I dunno, Bill Moyers? *eyeroll* Anyway, it turns out it’s not true at all. Winfrey told Entertainment Tonight that the rumors are “categorically untrue.”
“There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show,” she tells ET. “At the beginning of this presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over.”
Oprah hon, you may not be using your SHOW as a platform for any candidates, but you certainly are using your FAME as a platform, and you can’t really separate your show from your fame. I guess I respect her attempt at being non-partisan, even though I am sure a large portion of that decision is based on not wanting to offend viewers on either side, which makes her words just the eensiest little bit disingenuous, don’t you think? Gotta keep those ratings solid.
Oprah is definitely invited to the wedding, but Ellen wants her to play a bigger role, the tabloid insider squeals. Ellen wants her to be the minister.
I’m not sure if this is really true or not. But Oprah is Ellen’s friend and Ellen does nothing half way! I can’t wait to see the pictures from this wedding!
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes welcomed Oprah to their Castle dream house for an exclusive couch interview with Tom.
Top Gun star had a little spot for Oprah at his house with some comfortable shoes. How cute!? Things started to get freakier when Katie had to go somewhere and she is programmed to say says I love You over and over again! Oh and she loves Oprah too, but everyone loves Oprah!
I was a little disappointed when they quietly (no jumping up and down) sat down on the couch for the interview. Here are some of the highlights:
On the couch-jumping incident: “I just felt that way, and I feel that way about her. I can’t even articulate it, to be honest. That feeling, that connection. Just who she is and what she means to me.”
On attacking Matt Lauer: “I was feeling pressed in the interview with Matt Lauer. For me, my issue was really about child drugging. It’s not like it is today, like people are really kind of openly talking about this.”
On Suri: “She’s spectacular. She really is just magic.”
On keeping Suri hidden for three months: “We just want to have our baby, have the kids and everyone get to know Suri, get the family up here and just chill and have that time that you never get back. You don’t ever get those moments back. Kate and I didn’t feel any need to [rush] it. We said, ‘Why? It’s our family.’ We just were on Suri time.”
On Scientology: “It’s a minority religion, and I think that sometimes people misinterpret [it]. I think the best thing is for people to read about it themselves. I believe people have the right to choose what they believe in. The code of Scientologists says you respect the religious beliefs of others. That’s part of being a Scientologist, and that’s who I am as a person.”

Magician and illusionist David Blaineset a new world record today on Oprah. He held his breath underwater for 17 minutes and 4 seconds today, finally overcoming the shame of his last attempt. Two years ago, Blaine tried to break this record and went into convulsions.
A lifelong dream, a glad Blaine, 35, told Oprah moments after setting the record in a water-filled sphere. I cant believe that I did that.
The previous record for holding one’s breath under water was 16 minutes and 32 seconds.
The stars of the Sex and the City movie are gearing up into full promotion mode already! The whole gang - Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Chris Noth - will appear on Oprah this Thursday, May 1.
In their taped interview, SJP tells Oprah:
“I am excited excited is like a flip-flop to a high heel. Like it doesn’t even describe [it].”
A flip flop to a high heel! Was she in character when she gave that interview? LOL!
Cher and Tom Cruise? I never saw that one coming…But Cher is admitting to the affair she had with Tom some 25 years later. She was 36 and Tom was just an innocent 23….
“He was shy. He said he felt like such a boob in school and nobody talked to him. We went on a date once for dinner in a New York restaurant and the waitress was from his old school. He told me she never talked to him back in school, but now he was recognized he got all her attention. It could have been a great big romance because I was crazy for him.”
Catch the rest of the story when Cher is on Oprah next month!!
Fortify your couch and maybe bone up on your self-defense skills! Three years after his famed couch-jumping incident, the very brave Oprah Winfrey has decided to have Tom Cruise back as a guest.
Winfrey will interview Cruise from his home in Telluride, Colo., for the first show on May 2, which will cover his “family, his life and the future”…. Then on May 5, Cruise will appear in Winfrey’s Chicago studio.
How many times will he stick his foot in his mouth? And I wonder if Oprah’s made him sign a No Attacking The Host Or Her Furniture agreement? After all, this is the dude who said, “I will forever with [Katie] be jumping on couches, dancing on tables and hanging from chandeliers.” If I’m Oprah, I’m nailing my stuff down about now!!
If you forgot just how nuts Cruise was back in 2005, check out the video above.
“I never knew doing good could feel so good It’s taken me 48 years. And I credit you for this.” -Simon Cowell to Oprah Winfrey. Simon gave a family $162 000 to a struggling family to help pay off their mortgage. Everybody now….Awwwwwww
