I haven’t even seen all of these movies yet but I plan on seeing them all! There are obviously going to be variations and surprises when nominations are announced. All of these movies are up for critic awards already. James Franco and Anne Hathaway Set to Host ’83rd Annual Academy Awards’

James Franco and Anne Hathaway are set to host the 83rd Annual Academy Awards!

Oscar telecast producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer announced just now that “James Franco and Anne Hathaway personify the next generation of Hollywood icons— fresh, exciting and multi-talented. We hope to create an Oscar broadcast that will both showcase their incredible talents and entertain the world on February 27. We are completely thrilled that James and Anne will be joining forces with our brilliant creative team to do just that.”

Very young hosts this year, it’s an interesting choice. Much like the expansion of the Best Picture category from 5 to 10 films that started last year, this seems like an attempt to bring up the ratings by pulling in a younger audience. They are actually both very talented and funny, I’m sure they will be great.

Hilary Swank Is Sexiest at 2010 Oscars

Hilary Swank brought the sexy to the 2010 Oscars red carpet. Wow.  Can you say kinky vixen?  Goodness!  I wasn’t expecting that from her at all!  Hilary has an amazing body, she proves it every year on the red carpet.  But, this one takes the cake.  She couldn’t win Best Dressed, but she certainly made the sexiest appearance by a long shot.

Amanda Seyfried & Sigourney Weaver TIE For WORST Dressed At 2010 Oscars (Photos)

Amanda Seyfried Worst Dressed 2010 Oscars

I am a super huge fan of Amanda Seyfried BUT, she failed miserably at the 2010 Oscars last night.  Amanda’s red carpet appearance was nothing short of frightful.  Her hair was pulled so tight it almost disappeared, the makeup was dismal, and well, she pretty much reminded me of the Ghost of Christmas Past…. sorry.

82nd Annual Academy Awards – Oscars WINNERS – COMPLETE List

Then there was Sigourney Weaver…. ugh. That dress is not Oscar worthy.  That’s a date night dress… cocktail party maybe?  NOT good on the 82nd Annual Academy Awards red carpet when you’re surrounded by tons of glamorous women!

Sadly, the young Miley Cyrus knew how to dress like a pro while the veteran, Sigourney Weaver looked like…. you fill in the blank…

Miley Cyrus 2010 Oscars Red Carpet

Miley Cyrus was quite simply, drop-dead-gorgeous on the red carpet at the 2010 Oscars last night.  There was a lot of great fashion, some really terrible attempts at ‘fashion’, and then there was Miley Cyrus who looked amazing.

Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin to Host Oscars

oscars

Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin have been chosen to co-host the Oscars next year.

Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin are joining forces to co-host the 82nd Annual Academy Awards, the telecast’s producers Bill Mechanic and Adam Shankman said Tuesday.

Doubling down on comedy, the producers said, “Steve will bring the experience of having hosted the show in the past, and Alec will be a completely fresh personality for this event.”

As a solo act, Martin hosted the Oscars in 2001 and 2003, earning an Emmy nomination for his first turn at-bat. He’s also been a presenter on a number of occasions including this year, when he appeared with Tina Fey to hand out a trophy.

Baldwin has appeared as a presenter, most recently in 2004 when he was nominated as best supporting actor for his appearance in “The Cooler.”

These two are bound to bring us a lot of laughs. I think they will make a great team, expect a lot of dry humor.
