Paula Abdul is back with Simon Cowell for his U.S. version of the British hit The X-Factor.

Cowell had one last judges seat to fill and Abdul (who is finally confirmed) will take her place at the table with Cowell, music producer Antonio “LA” Reid and singer Cheryl Cole.

Former Pussycat Dolls lead Nicole Scherzinger and Steve Jones are co-hosting the new reality singing competition and at stake for the winner is a $5 million contract, among other prizes.

With all the judging/hosting talent in place, the first taping took place on Sunday, May 8th in downtown Los Angeles.

Paula Abdul Gets Her Time Slot For ‘Live To Dance’

Paula Abdul and her new show, Live To Dance have been placed into their time slot on CBS.  This is going to be a very short lived season either way.  The show will land in Survivor’s time slot, Wednesdays at 8pm.  Since Survivor 22 will debut in February, so Live To Dance will be over before that.

Paula Abdul Reveals Her New Dance Show Details

CBS gave a press release that says the show will

“be broadcast LIVE starting Wednesday, Jan. 12,” and starting the next week, CBS says “the first six dance acts will compete against each other LIVE on CBS with two acts advancing. After a total of three rounds, the six dance acts that have advanced will compete against one another in the grand finale.”

I wouldn’t normally want to watch this show, but I want to support Paula.  So I will give it a go.  Will you be watching?

Paula Abdul Reveals Her New Dance Show Details

Since leaving American Idol, Paula Abdul has put forth a lot of effort to get herself settled into a new career path and she has definitely succeeded!

Paul has ditched the singing aspect of the industry and joined the dancing side.  I think that is very smart.  Her new show is called, Live to Dance. She picked Australian Idol co-host Andrew Günsberg to be the host.  Paula will be judging and mentoring the contestants.  He co-judges will be choreographer Travis Payne (This Is It), and Pussycat Doll’s Kimberly Wyatt.

The first open auditions take place this weekend in New York City and then head to Los Angeles later in the month.

CBS says that the show “represents one of the most inclusive talent searches on television, searching for dancers with raw ability from any age group across the nation performing either solo or in a group.”

I think this is going to be the best dance show to date.  Good luck Paula!

Is Paula Abdul Going Back To American Idol?!

Paula Abdul, X-Factor Judge

American Idol producers might be trying to get Paula Abdul back in the ‘saddle’, but it’s supposed to be a huge secret.  The ratings for the show have dropped so much that producers are scrambling, trying to find a way to fix things.  Especially when Simon is gone next season.

Simon Cowell Has Picked His NEW X Factor Judges (Photos)

In Touch reports,

“They want Paula back.  They’re not sure if she’d be the fifth judge, but they are talking to her. People tuned in to see Paula’s wacky antics and her chemistry with Simon. The show is just not as much fun to watch without her.”

I don’t see Paula coming back as a permanent judge for Idol.  I think she will be with Simon on X-Factor. That’s where she belongs.  That chemistry, as wacky as it is, is PERFECTION.

What do you think?

Last night on VH1 Divas, Paula Abdul was hosting and took advantage of the opportunity to make fun of her replacement on American Idol, Ellen DeGeneres. From the wig to the pantsuit, Paula nailed Ellen perfectly. Too funny!

Have a look:

Was that not hilarious?  Ha!  I don’t think Paula was unkind.  Ellen is the joke maker.  So, I think she won’ be the least bit offended.

Paula Abdul Gets A NEW Job!!

We still haven’t gotten Paula Abdul back in a seat at the judges table on American Idol, but in the meantime we get to see her host the VH1 Divas concert on September 17th.

There will be a lot of girl power in the building with great talent lined up: Miley Cyrus, Leona Lewis, Adele, Kelly Clarkson, and Jordin Sparks.  I’m there!  Can’t wait!  It will be a great show.

Paula, are you really not coming back to Idol???

Paula Abdul To Go Dancing With The Stars (photos)

Can you believe it, Paula Abdul fans?  It’s not set in stone yet, but it is looking like Paula is going to take her dancing skills to the limit and be a contestant on Dancing With the Stars.  Steve McPherson with ABC wants Paula on the show and I think he will do just about anything to get her on board

I think she is the best pick yet for this season.  We all know that Paula has got it going on in the dancing department and she could go all the way.  She would also make the ratings go over the top with all of her American Idol followers.  I still think that if Idol wants Paula and they pay her that $10 million she wants, she’ll go back.  They just better hurry up!  Paula’s getting some juicy offers!

What do you think?  Do you want to watch Paula Abdul on Dancing With the Stars?

Punch for Paula

Constantine Maroulis opening night of "Rock of Ages"

One can only hope that Paula Abdul’s sense of self worth has been restored given all the media frenzy over her recent decision not to return to American Idol.  However, when she daydreamed about how her soon-to-be broken hearted fans would cope with this news, did she ever imagine one taking a few punches for her?  Paula must have a way of inspiring young talent because she sure made a big impression on Idol’s Season 4 veteran, Constantine Maroulis.

American Idol” alum Constantine Maroulis, 33, got his butt kicked by an Abdul hater during Casio’s G-Shock party Wednesday night at Cipriani Wall Street.

“It was hilarious! Constantine got into it with this guy who was probably 6 inches shorter and 60 pounds lighter,” laughs an observer. “The guy body-slammed him and punched him in the face and then just stood up, straightened his tie, and said, ‘B—ch, don’t you ever,’ before walking away.”

The attendee adds, “Security didn’t know what to make of this guy. He was so well-groomed in his suit, and he didn’t look like a threat at all. Constantine was so overwhelmed he just sat there on the floor for a few minutes.”

Not sure what hurt Constantine worse, the punch or his pride.  In an attempt to save face with his fans, he tweets:

“It broke up quick, didn’t even know him. Or throw one punch. I don’t mind a fight … but only when it’s fair and I’m looking!”

Awww….it’s okay Constantine!  Nothing wrong with defending a woman’s honor!  I’m sure Paula appreciates the gesture!

Paula Abdul Will NOT Be Returning To American Idol For Season 9

wenn2243919_paulaabdul

I am shocked by this news.  I’m sad.  I can’t imagine American Idol without Paula Abdul.  Apparently when Paula said that she’d been invited to return to the show, she was mistaken.

“Very sadly, it does not appear that she’s going to be back on ‘Idol,’ ” David Sonenberg told the newspaper. “I find it under these circumstances particularly unusual; I think unnecessarily hurtful. I find it kind of unconscionable and certainly rude and disrespectful that they haven’t stepped up and said what they want to do. … She’s not a happy camper as a result of what’s going on. She’s hurt. She’s angry. I think at this point we’re going to be considering everything, including some kind of a competition show. She has tremendous ideas for a whole variety of shows,” Sonenberg said.

I really hope that Fox and the show’s producers get off their butts and make something happen.  Paula Abdul deserves a huge contract.  Idol will not be the same without her.  Sound off below and share your support for Paula!
