Sisters In Fashion: Dakota And Elle Fanning’s Stylish Cover For W Magazine

Pippa and Kate Middleton, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Beyonce and Solange Knowles and the Fanning girls are all fashionable sisters in magazines for the holidays.

First up was Vogue’s Annual Best Dressed Women and now Dakota and Elle Fanning take the cover of the December issue of W magazine.

The sisters are photographed by Mario Sorrenti in stylish, gorgeous and amazing in gold lace Valentino Couture dresses for the holiday issue.

Dakota, 17, spoke about staying grounded:

“I don’t know if I’ve ever gotten any formal advice, but I’ve always felt that you should never forget that you’re just a person,” the Twilight actress said. “Even though you’re not like everyone else, you are just like everyone else. For instance, I met someone the other day, and they said, ‘Hi, I’m so-and-so.’ I said, ‘Hi, I’m Dakota.’ And they’re like, ‘Yeah, I know.’ But I can’t lose the fact that I still need to introduce myself to people even though they might already know my name or who I am. Oh, yeah, I guess you already know my name, but I’m going to say it anyway.”

Elle, 13, said she’s adjusting to having her older sis off at college:

“She is a nice older sister. But it’s not like we always get along. Now that she’s going to college, it’s different. I went into her room at home in California, and all her clothes were gone! Her closet was empty! I don’t get to go in there and steal clothes anymore. It’s really strange. It’s sort of like she’s off making a movie, but this time she’s not coming back.”

Keanu Reeves & Chloe Moretz Recreate ‘Taxi Driver’ For Scorsese Photo Shoot In Harper’s Bazaar

Paying homage to Martin Scorsese, Harper’s Bazaar has lined up Chloe Moretz, Keanu Reeves and other actors to recreate scenes from some of the director’s most famous films – all while clad in designer duds, of course!

Moretz, wearing Louis Vuitton, takes on Jodie Foster‘s star making role in Taxi Driver with Reeves portraying Robert DeNiro‘s Travis Bickle.

Foster gave the magazine a sweet story about Scorsese trying to instruct her in a scene with DeNiro:

“When we were shooting Taxi Driver, I think Marty was really uncomfortable with the fact that I was so young. The memory I have is of him and Robert De Niro trying to tell me how to unzip [De Niro’s] pants. And Marty keeps bursting out laughing. He can’t get a word out, and he tries to act serious, you know? He keeps smoothing down his face on both sides, but he just keeps laughing. And then De Niro decides he’s going to take over because he can do it.”

Other photos include Kate Bosworth, enraptured (and wearing Givenchy) for the Michelle Pfieffer role in The Age of Innocence.

Christina Hendrick (in Zac Posen) and Jack Huston recreate the Cameron Diaz/Leonardo DiCaprio dance in The Gangs of New York.

Emily Blunt, Ben Kingsley, Michael Pitt and more famous faces grace the Scorsese inspired photo shoot by Jason Schmidt.

Olivia Wilde Covers Allure Magazine

Olivia Wilde graces the cover of Allure magazine for the October issue looking fresh-faced and beautiful.

The 27 year-old actress spoke about her  Here’s what she had to say.

On being linked to Ryan Gosling, Justin Timberlake, Chris Pine and Salman Rushdie: “Isn’t that hilarious? I mean, in order to be dating all the people they think I am, I’d need four vaginas!” the actress says. “It’s impossible!”

On her divorce from Tao Ruspoli: [It was] “the most difficult thing I’ve ever dealt with.” However, she doesn’t seem to have regrets. “I got married at a very young age, so I sort of jumped into a stage of adulthood prematurely,” she says. “I learned quite a lot.”

On playing Justin Timberlake’s mom: “We were rehearsing, and I remember the director saying, ‘No, stop! It looks like you’re going to make out.’ ‘Nope—that looks like you’re going to make out, too.’ We were like, ‘Oh, God,’” she says. “I had to find a way to think of him as my son.” In the end, Wilde tried to defuse any sexual tension by picturing Timberlake as a toddler. “He’s got these incredible blue eyes, so I imagined him as a little baby Justin. And he was able to transfer a lot of his feelings about his mom onto me,” she says. “We’re both total acting nerds.”

Justin Timberlake & Amanda Seyfried Are Red, White & Blue For W Magazine

Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried get patriotic as a perfect-on-the-outside political pair for W magazine‘s October issue.

Here is a bit of what the two shared.

Justin on what is romantic to him: “To me, romance is not just about love. I recently saw Lust, Caution, and it’s tragic and romantic. I don’t know how they shot those [sex] scenes. Those scenes looked crazy.”

Amanda on finding the romance in every role she plays: “It’s [In Time] set in the future, where money buys you time. My character falls in love with Justin’s character—she wants to give him all the time he needs so he can save the world. It’s very romantic. No matter what’s happening in my life, I can always get lost in the romances of my characters.”

Justin on “bringing sexy back”: “It does seem brash. But truthfully, I didn’t see myself in that song. I wanted people to feel as if they were saying the lyrics themselves. I imagined guys and girls, and guys and guys, and girls and girls singing it to each other in Ibiza or in a club in Manhattan or at a huge open-air festival. At the end of the day, I hope it was a song that people used. Because that was always my experience with music—I put myself in the mind and movement of the artist. I don’t think Michael Jackson really thought he was “bad,” but you felt like you were bad when you sang that song.”

Amanda on sex scenes: “Sex scenes are great. A lot of my costars have been sexy guys my age, and so, why not? I’m not going to pretend it’s not fun. Justin was great—he had come from doing Friends With Benefits, where he basically had sex every day at work—and so it was easy for both of us. We just kind of got it on, and then were like, “That was good!”

Michelle Williams Transforms As Marilyn Monroe & Covers Vogue

Taking on the role of Marilyn Monroe is a daunting task for any actress and Michelle Williams does so for both her upcoming film, My Week with Marilyn and for the Vogue October issue.

The 31 year-old actress said that no matter how hard she tried to convince herself not to take on the role of Monroe, she felt compelled to do it.

“As soon as I finished the script [for My Week with Marilyn], I knew that I wanted to do it, and then I spent six months trying to talk myself out of it. But I always knew that I never really had a choice. I’ve started to believe that you get the piece of material that you were ready for.”

Williams said that being Monroe around other people gave her a small sense of what the iconic blonde must’ve felt as people, men in particular, watched her.

“But I do remember one moment of being all suited up as Marilyn and walking from my dressing room onto the soundstage practicing my wiggle,” Williams tells the magazine. “There were three or four men gathered around a truck, and I remember seeing that they were watching me come and feeling that they were watching me go–and for the very first time I glimpsed some idea of the pleasure I could take in that kind of attention; not their pleasure but my pleasure. And I thought, Oh, maybe Marilyn felt that when she walked down the beach.”

My Week with Marilyn will debut at the New York Film Festival and will open in theaters on November 4th.

Flawless Kate Winslet Pays Homage To Elizabeth Taylor For V Magazine

Kate Winslet is simply perfect as Elizabeth Taylor for V magazine‘s September/October Heroes issue.

The 35 year-old actress is photographed by Mario Testino and styled by Carine Roitfeld as the stunning violet-eyed Hollywood legend.

Winslet spoke about Taylor and how what she found remarkable about the late actress.

“There was a real fearlessness in her. Which in old Hollywood perhaps didn’t feel quite as prevalent. Now, actors and actresses can bend the rules a lot. Back then, there didn’t seem to be a rule book, and there was some expectation in terms of how glamorous a woman should look. There is sort of a coolness and aloofness to the way [Elizabeth Taylor] would look in posed photographs. In candid snapshots she was really quite soft, and she would really screw up her face. I do that as well.”

Kate also shared how she actually loathes nude scenes, even though she seems to find herself in them rather frequently.

“I hate it! Listen make no mistake, I just get on it. I just go in and say ‘Oh f**k’ let’s do it.’ and Boom. If you complain about it or procrastinate it’s not going to go away. Its a profoundly bizarre thing to do. As actors you talk about it all the time. You can literally be tangled in sheets, and you turn to the other actor and say ‘What the f*ck are we doing?’ Dear Mum, at work today I had so-and-so’s left nut sack pressed against my cheek. It’s sort of unethical if you think about it in those terms.”

Well, Kate. That was unexpected!

Lady Gaga Bares All For Harper’s Bazaar

Lady Gaga leaves it all behind for the cover of the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar.

The “You and I” singer dons considerably less make-up than usual for a more natural appearance. Should we call her Stefani Germanotta – she seems so different in these photos than her Gaga persona?

Gaga says whether she has on loads of cosmetics and accessories or none at all, it doesn’t matter. She doesn’t see a distinction.

“I think that artifice is the new reality. It’s more about just being honest and sincere to the core of what you do. Whether I’m wearing lots of makeup or no makeup, I’m always the same person inside.”

The singer says that so much of what we’ve come to see as natural really isn’t so why shouldn’t she indulge create and play with those ideas.

“Don’t you think that what’s on the cover of a magazine is quite artificial?” she asks. “There’s this idea that it’s all natural, but everything’s been staged to look natural. It is also an invention. It’s just that my inventions are different. I often get asked about my artifice, but isn’t fashion based on the idea that we can create a fantasy?”

Gaga also shared her love of her new hobby, surfing, which she picked up on a rare vacation from work.

“I fell off a lot in the beginning,” she says, “but one of the surfers said to me, ‘Now that you can stand up, just look into the future and enjoy the ride.’ I thought that was an interesting metaphor about life.”

The October issue goes on sale September 27th.
