New Full-Length Trailer For Disney Pixar’s ‘Brave’

The first full-length trailer for Brave – the Disney Pixar 3D film of Scottish heroine Merida and her journey to find true bravery.

Merida (voiced by Kelly Macdonald) makes a wish from a witch that doesn’t turn out as planned and she confronts tradition, her destiny and a few crazy beasts along the way.

The visuals are lush and gorgeous, as expected and the vocal talent is superb – costarring along with Macdonald are Emma Thompson, Julie Walters, Robbie Coltrane, Craig Ferguson and Billy Connolly.

And of course there is crazy Scotsman mooning the crowd in a kilt – what can I say, it was funny.

Brave will be in theaters June 22, 2012.

Pixar’s John Lasseter Celebrates His Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star

John Lasseter

Pixar’s Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame on Tuesday.   On hand to celebrate with him were his wife, Nancy Lasseter, members of the Pixar team, and several actors who have lent their voices to his monstrously popular animated films, including Bonnie Hunt, Owen Wilson, Brad Paisley, Emily Mortimer, Cheech Marin and John Ratzenberger.

Lasseter looked like a big goofy kid at the ceremony, in jeans and one of his signature Hawaiian shirts, with a big smile on his face.  He professed that getting his star was  “the greatest honor you could give me.”   At the end of his comments, he paid tribute to his former Pixar partner the late Steve Jobs, saying,

“There is one last person I want to share this with, and that is my partner Steve Jobs. Without Steve, Pixar wouldn’t exist. These films wouldn’t exist. I honor him. The only thing Steve Jobs ever asked of me was, ‘John, make it great’.”

Animation fans and children everywhere certainly would agree that Lasseter has indeed done just that.  Pixar’s next project is the upcoming Brave, due out in June 2012.

More photos of his star ceremony after the jump.

First ‘Brave’ Teaser Poster from Pixar Looks Beautiful

Here’s the first official poster for next year’s big Disney/Pixar animated film Brave.

Beautiful detailing, if the movie looks like this in full motion Pixar will really out-do themselves again. Brave promises to be a great original story something we know Pixar is extremely good at. Unfortunately all we have this year is Cars 2, but Disney/Pixar has great stuff coming for the next three years. Hopefully we’ll see a teaser trailer for Brave with the release of Cars 2 this friday!

Disney Announces Release Date for Mysterious New Pixar Film

Disney has announced that another Pixar animated film will be released on November 27, 2013, but hasn’t even given a hint as to what it might be.

Disney’s next Pixar pic is November 27, 2013. It’s an original project, not a sequel — and it doesn’t have a title yet. And that’s all Disney is saying.

Now don’t worry, this isn’t the next Pixar movie after Cars 2. No next summer’s Pixar release is called Brave, then the following summer (2013) it’s Monster’s University. So this mysterious new project will be the second Pixar release for 2013, I get the feeling after it’s been announced in the next few months it may get pushed to summer 2014, unless it’s a holiday themed movie. Only time (and Disney) will tell.

First Look: Princess Merida in Pixar’s ‘Brave’

Here’s the first look at the main character Merida in the upcoming Disney/Pixar film Brave.

The rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland serve as the backdrop for Brave, a new tale that joins the lands ancient lore, stories of epic battles and mystical legends passed down for generations. Directed by Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman, and produced by Katherine Sarafian, Brave is the grand adventure of Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald), a skilled archer who confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts to discover the true meaning of courage. The film also features the voices of Emma Thompson, Billy Connolly, Julie Walters, Kevin McKidd, Craig Ferguson and Robbie Coltrane. Brave, full of heart, memorable characters and Pixar’s signature humor, takes aim at theaters on June 22, 2012, and will be presented in Disney Digital 3D in select theaters.

Very cool, I’m glad Pixar is venturing into the original fairy tale realm, who better to do it? This movie is amongst the many I’m excited about for next summer. Cars 2 should have the full trailer for Brave attached to it so we can get a glimpse at this likely excellent addition to the Pixar library. I’m beginning to wonder if Pixar is capable of making a bad movie.

‘Monsters Inc.’ Sequel Titled ‘Monsters University’ Gets a Director

The Monsters, Inc. Sequel has officially been given the title Monsters University and today it secured it’s director.

Two days ago, we finally got a title, Monsters University, and a plot description, Mike and Sully meet and become friends, but now we have another wire in the scaring machine. Longtime Pixar story artist Dan Scanlon will helm the film. He’s previously handled the short Mater and Ghostlight, but it’ll be interesting to see what he does with more screen time.

I completely love the original Monster’s Inc. so this movie is one I’ve been looking forward to for a long time. I can’t wait to see how much better the world of the Monsters will look with modern animation technology. It’s been 10 years since the first film! Hard to believe it’s been that long but better late than never!

Barbie and Ken Get Their Own ‘Toy Story’ Short Film

Barbie and Ken from Toy Story 3 are reportedly getting their very own short film called Hawaii.

Back in June Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich revealed that they planned to keep the characters alive by using them in a series ofToy Story short films, to appear before their full-length features. Now we know what the first everToy Story short will be about.

Story artist Floyd Numan says he’s seen the short, to be titled Hawaii and Digital Spycaught him on twitter when he revealed what it’s about. Says Numan, “Ken and Barbie want to go to Hawaii.”

Sounds like a great idea, Pixar always seems to be on top of their game. Seeing more of these characters after the trilogy will always be welcome, especially since this is the only way we’ll see more of them. Hawaii will be attached at the beginning of another new Pixar film, Cars 2 perhaps? Or will we have to wait until next December with Brave?

‘Toy Story 3′ Emotional Ending Set To ‘LOST’ Score – Life & Death

The emotional ending of Toy Story 3 was hard enough. Watching the toys we’ve become so attached to – Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jesse and all the other toys – sliding down the incinerator walls set to a heart-tugging Randy Newman score, that is Pixar storytelling at it’s finest.

LOST took viewers on that same heartbreaking journey last spring as the show came to it’s conclusion, the characters slipped away, one by one, set to composer Michael Giacchino’s poignant theme.

Set yourself down to cry a spell as you watch the Toy Story 3 ending set to LOST’s music and well, the apt title “Live Together, Die Alone” comes to mind. It becomes so powerful, I honestly dare you not to at least tear up.

I need more tissues.

Fresh New ‘Toy Story 3′ Poster

Toy Story 3 Poster

Here’s the latest poster for this summer’s mega-hit Pixar sequel, Toy Story 3.

As much as the most recent trailer doesn’t excite me, my faith in Pixar is strong. I’m sure this will be at least good, Pixar doesn’t do bad movies.

New Full ‘Toy Story 3′ Trailer Reveals New Toys

Toy Story 3 Poster

Here’s the new trailer for the upcoming highly anticipated sequel Toy Story 3.

This trailer doesn’t make the movie look all that great, don’t get me wrong I’m sure it will be good, but it doesn’t have the kind of kick that Pixar films tend to have. Here’s hoping it’s even better than the first two!
