Ellen DeGeneres appears in a new ad urging Californians to vote no on Proposition 8. The ballot measure would eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry in the State of California, a right that was granted via a State Supreme Court ruling this past May.

The ad is simple and heartfelt. Ellen says:

I got to do something this year that I never thought I’d never be able to do – I got married. It was the happiest day of my life! … I believe in fairness, I believe in compassion, I believe in equality for all people.

Ellen’s wedding to Portia de Rossi was beautiful! I don’t know whyanyone would want to take that away. I know lots of folks disagree with me, and I respect that. I just don’t happen to feel the same way. Bravo to Ellen for speaking her mind!

Ellen Degeneres and Portia DeRossi were out at the YES! on Prop 2: Stop Animal Cruelty fund raiser in Bel Air, California yesterday. We all know that Ellen supports almost every cause that helps stop animal cruelty and this is no exception.

Ellen and Portia still look like newlyweds. Ellen recently said that being married makes her feel different…

“My heart just feels a little bit different, softer and somehow more in love. I don’t know how. But it just feels really romantic and lovely. I just feel really blessed.”

It’s awesome that two people that love each other so much were able to get married.

Now that Ellen DeGeneres has made an honest woman out of Portia de Rossi, they can start thinking about the next step in many couples’ lives:� starting a family.� Among the options?� Adopting.

“I would adopt the Jonas Brothers,” she quipped. “They really are good kids. They appreciate everything still.”

Ellen DeGeneres and her beautiful long time girlfriend Portia de Rossi finally married in a private ceremony Saturday night at their home in Los Angeles.

Only 19 guests, family and friends including both brides� mothers, attended the intimate ceremony. Ellen and Portia exchanged written vows and rings by Neil Lane (if you thought the engagement ring was beautiful, wait till you see their wedding bands!).

US Magazine claims that they have the exclusive news that Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi are getting married this weekend. They are planning to get married on Saturday with a small intimate ceremony with only close friends and family attending.

Wedding rumors before said that she was marrying in October at a resort in California so we will have to wait and see if this is true.

Ellen and Portia started dating in 2004. In an interview with the Advocate Ellen said this about Portia…

“I feel like I found my perfect fit. She�s taught me lessons about myself, and I feel like I�ve taught her.”

Ellen Degeneres plans on marrying her girlfriend, Portia deRossi soon and she plans on doing something out of the ordinary with the wedding pictures.

She plans on distributing one photo to a bunch of media outlets. In fact, Ellen says she’ll give one out to anyone who asks pretty much! She says she refuses to get compensated by the media just because she’s tying the knot.

And she also feels it’s necessary to “normalize” gay marriage, rather than make it a phenomenon.

Ellen is always pushing the envelope. She is really a person that we can all love! Why not make it normal. I think it’s something that needs to happen!

Ellen Degeneres is getting married! YAY! It’s about time that Ellen is able to talk about Portia de Rossi on TV and people accept it! TMZ first broke the news…

A spy in the audience of this afternoon’s taping of the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” tells us that after Ellen mentioned today’s California Supreme Court ruling striking down the state’s ban on gay marriage, she surprised everyone and announced that she was going to tie the knot with longtime girlfriend, actress Portia de Rossi.

Portia was in the crowd and after she made the announcement, the studio audience went wild, giving the two a huge standing O.
