Queen Latifah Advises Kate Middleton “Don’t Take Anything Personally”

Queen Latifah is royalty in her own right. The 40 year-old star is a woman who has made a successful enterprise out of virtually everything she touches. Best-selling author, Oscar nomination, award winning rapper are just a few things she’s turned to gold.

Latifah, who rules her own Queendom, has some advice for another future Queen – Kate Middleton. She tells Parade magazine Kate should enjoy her time now because her privacy is about to disappear:

“Make sure you have a sanctuary, because everybody in the world is going to be in your business. He happened to be born a prince; you happened to go to college and meet him. You’re two kids who fell in love. I just hope you have a happy life. And don’t take anything personally.”

You can catch more from Queen as she covers Parade for this Sunday, January 2, 2011 and is the host of the 37th Annual People’s Choice Awards on January 5th.

Queen Latifah Signs Her New Book At The Grove

Queen Latifah made an appearance at the Barnes & Noble at The Grove in Los Angeles to sign copies of her new book, Put Your Crown On.   I love how she turns up looking just like any other sister you might see in any town.   She’s got no celebrity pretension about her here.  Sell those books, La!!

Queen Latifah Spills Her Secrets In New Book

Queen Latifah is on fire these days! Girl stars opposite Common in Just Wright (lucky!), took a turn in Valentine’s Day, and launched a fragrance last year. She just celebrated her 40th birthday and has also just released a book, Put on Your Crown: Life-Changing Moments on the Path to Queendom. Here’s some of the highlights:

On the benefits of exercise: “When my body feels good, I feel more energized and alive, and that’s sexy. I’m taking care of this body God gave me.”

On the awkward nature of doing sex scenes in Just Wright: “My character has a love scene with the character played by Common, and it’s the most intimate I’ve ever had to be on camera. I know I’m good at [kissing], and I know I feel sexy when I’m kissing, but I never had to worry about whether or not a camera angle is making me look crazy while I’m doing it. I had to put all of this private stuff on-screen, with no idea how I looked. But you know something? I got through it. … Despite my jitters, I had to get into that moment and that character and push through my inhibitions.”

On regretting not having had children: “If I ran into a 19-year-old version of myself, I’d just tell her to live, full out. I might also tell her to go ahead and have a few babies and not worry about the timing of it.”

Sadly, The Queen remains coy about her sexuality. Which is the BIG thing inquiring minds want to know about her, right? Chely Wright came out, Queen La… you can do it too!!

New ‘Valentine’s Day’ Featuring Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift

lautnerswift

Here’s the newest trailer for the upcoming star packed romantic comedy Valentine’s Day, coming out on February 12th, 2010. This one features Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift.

This trailer is certainly better than the last version, it seems the re-shoots might have actually helped. And clearly they added the stuff with Lautner and Swift to pull in a bigger audience. Regardless, I still have no interest in seeing this.

Star Packed New ‘Valentine’s Day’ Poster

Valentine's Day Poster

Here’s the newest poster for the romantic comedy, Valentine’s Day. It features  Ashton Kutcher, Emma Roberts, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Julia Roberts, Queen Latifah, Taylor Lautner, Topher Grace and Bradley Cooper just to name a few.

This movie is packed with stars, but but that doesn’t nessesarily make it a great film. I know one of bit part actors in the film, and she said they were going back to re-shoot scenes they’d already finished. That may just mean test audiences didn’t like something and the studio wanted some things tweaked. In any case, this movie will be THE date movie for it’s upcoming Valentine’s Day release.

Queen Latifah Works It Out (Photos)

Queen Latifah leaves Urth Cafe

Queen Latifah was spotted leaving the Urth Cafe after a workout in West Hollywood on Friday (october 23rd) and the girl was looking fit.  I give her props for putting in the time at the gym in spite of her very busy schedule.

You don’t get to see the celebs without there makeup all that often even at the gym. But the Queen looked good au natural.  Do you think that is a cup of coffee or hot tea she got there?  Coffee after a workout….that cracks me up!

Coming up in 2010 for Queen Latifah is Hairspray 2: White Lipstick.  I fully enjoyed the first Hairspray movie and I can’t wait to see this one.

Queen Latifah Spotted At Lesbian Club

Queen Latifah is notoriously hush-hush about her sexuality, but sometimes actions speak louder than words.  She is in New York filming her new movie, and has been seen at least twice “chilling” at weekly lesbian night at the Country Club nightclub.    One time, she was accompanied by “five stunning women.”

Five women, no less.  Some men can’t even accomplish that!  Go Queen La!

Jamie Foxx, Queen Latifah, and Carter Jenkins have joined the already formidable cast of the new film Valentine’s Day.

Jamie Foxx, Queen Latifah and Carter Jenkins have joined the all-star cast of New Line’s romantic comedy “Valentine’s Day,” being directed by Garry Marshall.

The ensemble already includes Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Shirley MacLaine, Bradley Cooper, Ashton Kutcher, Topher Grace, Emma Roberts, Hector Elizondo, Patrick Dempsey and Eric Dane.

It’s almost hard to believe how many stars they have in one pic! Should be interesting to see how this plays out, hopefully it’s beyond a series of cameos with a bad love story blended in.
