Kevin Costner Cast as Slave Driving Villain in Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’

Kevin Costner has been cast in Quentin Tarantino‘s next film Django Unchained.

Kevin Costner is in negotiations to join a cast that is headed by Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson and Leonardo DiCaprio. Costner is in talks to play Ace Woody, and it’s a real surprise turn for an actor most associated with good guy roles. He’s the sadistic trainer of the male fighting slaves who entertain the white patrons of Candyland as well as the female slaves who are forced to be prostitutes.

Although Costner is definitely not one of my favorite actors, it’s refreshing to see him taking a role as a bad guy. I think the combination of Leonardo DiCaprio and Costner as the villains will make for some very interesting moments in this film. I can’t wait to see how this movie turns out!

Jamie Foxx Likely to Star in Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’

Jamie Foxx is likely to be the star of Quentin Tarantino‘s next film Django Unchained.

Foxx will join Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson in a Sergio Leone-style spaghetti Western that Tarantino wrote and has set in Mississippi during slavery. No deal has been made yet, but it shouldn’t take long.

I’m glad that Tarantino has made his choice, Foxx is a great actor who will slip into this role with ease. Tarantino knows how to pull the character he wants out of his actors, I’m sure Foxx will be work well with him. I’m actually glad it didn’t go to Will Smith as originally planned, Jamie Foxx has shown range with comedy and drama in a way that I don’t think Smith is even capable of.

Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’ Gets a Release Date

Quentin Tarantino‘s next feature film Django Unchained has been given a release date of December 25th, 2012.

Whether or not it stars Will Smith or Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz or Leonardo DiCaprio, The Weinstein Company has just claimed Christmas Day 2012 for Quentin. That’s the day they’ll release Quentin Tarantino‘s Western influenced film Django Unchained.

I couldn’t be happier, as long as the world doesn’t end on the 21st it’ll be my favorite Christmas present in 2012. The film still hasn’t locked down the full main cast, but whoever does land the roles will have to get to work right away. With the fast approaching release date, the film will have to start shooting later this year. I can’t wait!

Quentin Tarantino Wants Will Smith to Play a Slave in ‘Django Unchained’

If you didn’t know already Quentin Tarantino‘s next film will be titled Django Unchained, it’s a spaghetti western and he wants Will Smith to star. He’s made some huge steps towards making that happen.

Sources tell me that international on Quentin Tarantino’s new Spaghetti Western Django Unchained is going to Sony to co-finance production later this year and distribute sometime in 2012. This after the filmmakers met with every major studio except Warner Bros. Of course, The Weinstein Company is taking domestic…

…Right now, Will is still pondering his role as a slave in the script, which I just read and would be a very risky project for the actor, who’s known for carefully controlling his professional persona. Other top-flight casting will start immediately. The film is a take-off on the Sergio Leone/Eastwood “Man With No Name” films. According to the script, it’s not a Spaghetti Western remake or reboot but a brand new story with a similar character and similar stylized violence from those 1960s films.

It’s bizarre and unusual, Tarantino hasn’t wanted big names in his films until recently (Brad Pitt in Inglourious Basterds). Will Smith taking on a controversial role like this would be a great boost for him in my opinion. I’m sure his character is more than just a slave, he’s probably a bad-ass too. It’s odd, but that’s one of the main reasons I like Tarantino so much. He’s always full of surprises, and I’m sure Django Unchained will be yet another gem in his collection.

Quentin Tarantino’s Next Film is a Spaghetti Western with Christoph Waltz!

Some details on Quentin Tarantino‘s newest film have surfaced. It will be a spaghetti western starring Christoph Waltz!

Deadline reported that Tarantino said he has completed the script for the new movie and that the writing, unlike his work on “Basterds” and “Kill Bill,” came together quite quickly. Meanwhile, the actor Franco Nero gave an Italian-language interview at the Los Angeles Italia festival in which he said that talent has already been coalescing around the project, including himself, Keith Carradine and Treat Williams.

“It’s a movie that contains humor, lots of action, but also a great plot,” Nero said…

…Christoph Waltz, who won an Oscar for his turn as a cold-blooded Nazi in “Basterds,” would also star in the flick.

Can’t wait to find out more about this one, Tarantino is one of my favorites. Christoph Waltz working with together with Quentin again only means more cinematic greatness. Supposedly the film will be a tribute to the  legendary Sergio Leone, sounds great to me!  I’ll keep you posted as more details emerge.

Quentin Tarantino May Revive Lindsay Lohan’s Career With a Movie Part

Lindsay Lohan

Quentin Tarantino is looking to cast Lindsay Lohan in his new movie, and possibly revive her fading career.

According to the report, Tarantino has a “hardcore” character in mind for Lindsay that he thinks may help resurrect her career that’s recently spiraled out of control. “Lindsay is just the kind of character Quentin loves,” an insider told AbsoluteNow.com.

“Jaded” Lindsay Lohan Loses Another Movie Role “No one expects her to do anything significant on film ever again, but he has at least one role he feels she would be perfect for. It’s a shocking, hardcore character but it will put her back on the map much as Quentin did for John Travolta.”

She has the potential and the talent, hopefully collaborating with Tarantino will bring her back with some style and intensity. I’m looking forward to seeing the character that he has in mind for her.

Lady Gaga Starring in New Quentin Tarantino Film?

Lady GagaTarantino

Reportedly Lady Gaga is taking a big step into acting and is likely to play an assassin in Quentin Tarantino‘s next film!

Gaga has reportedly been asked to play an assassin in Tarantino’s next flick, because the filmmaker is absolutely fascinated with her.

“Quentin is a huge fan of GaGa and loves her whole personality,” reveals a source close to the director. “He has already sounded her out on a couple of projects, one of which would see her playing an assassin.

“Movies would be a huge new venture for GaGa but she’s excited at the prospect and Quentin has told her she’d be a natural.”

Gaga apparently caught the acting bug after her brief cameo on Gossip Girl. “She sees acting as a natural progression in her career,” a source said in November. “One idea she has is for a rock opera which would be a huge big budget movie made to her own very unique ideas.

“But she is also keen on straight dramatic roles. She has the drive and confidence to make it big as an actress. It’s just a matter of finding time between her first love — music.”

She’s certainly got her own bizarre world of style going on, and a hugely successful music career. I wonder if she’s a good actress? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Quentin Tarantino Wants to Make a Western

Quentin Tarantino Western

Quentin Tarantino wants to make a western!

The NY Daily News caught up with Quentin Tarantino, who says he’s interested in making a Western, but one that is a little different.

“I’d like to do a Western. But rather than set it in Texas, have it in slavery times. With that subject that everybody is afraid to deal with,” Tarantino said. “Let’s shine that light on ourselves. You could do a ponderous history lesson of slaves escaping on the Underground Railroad. Or, you could make a movie that would be exciting. Do it as an adventure. A spaghetti Western that takes place during that time. And I would call it ‘A Southern.’”

Pretty much anything Tarantino decides to make I’ll be glad to pay to see. There have also been talks of another Kill Bill movie, but that’ll happen eventually anyway.

Tarantino Calls Himself a “Bad-Ass” and Talks Casting (Video)

Quentin Tarantino Video

Here’s the amazing Quentin Tarantino talking about the casting process for Inglourious Basterds, talking about projects of the future and calling himself “bad-ass”.

It is true what he said, but he shouldn’t be saying it. Let other people say it Quentin! That’s not enough for you? I can’t wait to see what movie he makes next, Inglourious Basterds was one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long while.
