Predators Poster

Here’s the first teaser trailer for the upcoming film Predators.

Looks like it could be pretty good, lots of good actors in this one, I’m looking forward to seeing more on this movie. Hopefully it’ll be on a whole other level than the AVP movies, those were bad.

Fox is Bringing ‘Machete’ to Theaters

Machete Poster

The new Grindhouse spin off Machete that was planned for a straight to Blu-ray release has been picked up by 20th Century Fox for theatrical release.

20th Century Fox beat out five other studios for the rights to distribute Robert Rodriguez’s “Machete”, the spin-off feature from the fake trailer first seen with 2007′s “Grindhouse”.

The winner is no huge surprise as Fox is already working with Rodriguez on “Predators”, the upcoming “Predator” franchise reboot he’s producing for release this Summer.

This movie is going to be a blast! Pure corny, bloody, silly fun. The cast is great and Robert Rodriguez clearly has a grasp of the genre.

Killer ‘Machete’ Cast Includes Alba, De Niro and Lohan!

The new Robert Rodriguez film Machete starring Danny Trejo now has some major stars attached! Jessica Alba, Robert De Niro, Michelle Rodriguez, Lindsay Lohan, Cheech Marin, Jeff Fahey, Don Johnson and Steven Seagal are attached to the pic!

Robert Rodriguez has cast Jessica Alba (Sin City), Robert De Niro, Michelle Rodriguez (Fast & Furious), Lindsay Lohan (Mean Girls), Cheech Marin (Once Upon a Time in Mexico), Jeff Fahey (“Lost”), Don Johnson and Steven Seagal (Under Siege) alongside Danny Trejo in the spin-off action flick, Machete.

The film is based on the “fake” trailer in Rodriguez’s 2007 Grindhouse, featuring Trejo and Fahey reprising their original roles. Machete is being produced by Rodriguez who is the co-director with Ethan Maniquis, his long time editor. Rodriguez and Overnight Productions announced today that shooting is gearing up out of Troublemaker Studios in Austin, Texas.

Wow, that’s a great list of stars, it makes me wonder if this movie will actually come to theaters instead of the original plan to go straight to Blu-Ray/DVD. I wanted to see it long before all these names were attached, good job Robert Rodriguez!

Robert De Niro may be taking a role in the new Grindhouse Robert Rodriguez film Machete!

Bloody Disgusting has scored some interesting casting rumors about “Machete”, the upcoming Robert Rodriguez-directed vigilante action film based on the “Grindhouse” trailer.

According to the site Michelle Rodriguez (TV’s “Lost,” “Fast and Furious”) and Jonah Hill (“Superbad,” “Funny People”) are set to play Luz and Julio respectively, while the legendary Robert DeNiro has a small role as ‘Senator McLaughlin’.

I hope it’s true, this movie would have much more value with him in it, even if it’s a small part.

‘Predators’ Gets a Release Date

the_predator

The release date has already been set for the upcoming Robert Rodriguez helmed Predators. That date is July 7th, 2010.

20th Century Fox has already set a July 7, 2010 release date for Robert Rodriguez’s Predators, which the studio promises to be “a bold new chapter in the Predator universe.”

Rodriguez officially announced the project just yesterday, calling the project “a reboot of the ‘Predator’ series.” Rodriguez previously wrote a Predator 3 that was then discarded because it was “too big.”

That means that work pretty much has to begin now to get the movie out by then. I’ll keep you posted on all the happenings. This movie is going to be huge.
