Reese Witherspoon must have had a good Thanksgiving in the UK with her boyfriend, Jake Gyllenhaal. She was seen shopping today in Brentwood just after returning back to the States. The kids spent their Thanksgiving with their dad, Ryan Phillippe.

She must also be happy that her new movie, Four Christmases, beat out Twilight this weekend. I can’t believe it did! It just proves that Reese still has it.

According to a family friend, the kids love Jake so much that when it’s time for Reese Witherspoon to hand them over to Ryan , little Deacon can’t stop talking about Jake. “It’s Jake did this, Jake brought mommy flowers and coffee, Jake says we should recycle,” the friend tells OK!

It’s reportedly taking it’s toll on Ryan. “Ryan called Reese and suggested she stop letting him (Jake) spend so much time with the kids,” the insider tells OK! “He was pretty irate on the phone. Reese barely let him finish the sentence before she shot back that what she does with her personal life is her business.”

If you really think about it, Ryan is being silly. It is bound to happen when you separate. Ryan may be thinking that he’s being replaced by Jake, but he should be confident in knowing that he will always be their dad.

Some people rebound from failed romances very quickly. Actor Ryan Phillippe, who was married to and has two children with Reese Witherspoon, is that kind of person. When the pair split in October of 2006, he was reportedly seeing actress Abbie Cornish. Now things have progressed with his divorce and settlement being final so Phillippe and Cornish had a public shopping trip with his kids.

On December 2, the couple took Ava, 8, and Deacon, 4, shopping for Christmas décor in L.A. “Ava seemed very comfortable with Abbie,” says a witness. “Ava picked a wreath and Abbie put it around her head as a joke. They were both laughing.”

It would be good for the kids if everyone gets along, so let’s hope that is the case here.

Indie film darling Ryan Philippe has admitted to feelings of despair and suicide after his marriage to actress Reese Witherspoon went down the road of most Hollywood Hook-ups: Divorce.

In a surprisingly candid confession he told UK magazine Man About Town: “After the divorce I wanted to die. I was ready to kill myself. I was not taking care of myself at all. I would wake up and cry and vomit.”

Witherspoon’s paycheck and bankability in Hollywood was rising while Philippe’s was not and among other things, (including rumours of affairs on Philippe’s part,) this is speculated to have contributed to their break-up.
