Lady Gaga joined a cavalcade of stars who rang in the new year at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve (co-hosted by Ryan Seacrest) on Saturday night.  She helped celebrate the show’s 40th year along with Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Florence + The Machine, and Gym Class Heroes.

After her performance, Lady Gaga set the famous New Year’s Eve Ball on its descent, which she said was a “dream come true.”

When the festivities at Times Square ended, the Mother Monster moved the party to her family’s Upper West Side restaurant, Joanne.  Joining her were several other celebrities, including Seacrest and girlfriend Julianne Hough, Jenny McCarthy, and Ashley Tisdale and her new boyfriend Martin Johnson.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries were married today, August 20, in Montecito, California.

The entire Kardashian-Jenner family seemed to have a role in the wedding.

Kim was attended by her sisters Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian as co-maids of honor.  Younger sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner served as bridesmaids along with Humphries’ sister Kaela.   Brother Robert Kardashian was a groomsman, and Kourtney’s son Mason Disick, just 20 months old, was the ring bearer.  Kim’s stepfather Bruce Jenner walked her down the aisle.

The couple’s 440 guests included many well-known Hollywood figures, including Mario Lopez, Demi Lovato, Eva Longoria, Ryan Seacrest, Melanie Brown, Avril Lavigne, Sugar Ray Leonard, Greta Van Sustren, Venus and Serena Williams, and  Dina, Ali and Lindsay Lohan.   Vera Wang, who made Kim’s wedding gown, also attended.

Wang actually made three dresses for Kim’s big day.   The wedding gown featured a full tulle skirt and Chantilly lace appliques.   For the reception, Kim wore two very different dresses:  a mermaid-style with more Chantilly lace, and a V-neck bias cut number with a circle skirt.   All three dresses were ivory.

The entire extravaganza will be revealed in a two-part E! special, Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event, in October.

Robert Pattinson took a few moments from filming The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn to have a chat with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show today.

The actor is jovial and has some laughs with Seacrest as they talk about how secretive the BD set is and that Pattinson is playing a character named Jacob in Water For Elephants.

Early on, the American Idol hosts asks Rob: “You probably can’t go much of anywhere without being recognized. My gosh have things taken off for you in so many directions. Are you enjoying it, Rob?”

“I am, I’m pretty happy with the way things have gone,” Pattinson said. “I mean, stayed working stayed, pretty happy and I think that’s the most you can ask for.”

Ryan Seacrest got the scoop this morning when Kim Kardashian stopped by on his radio show to world premiere her heavily auto-tuned song “Jam (Turn It Up.)”

On Air With Ryan Seacrest played her tune and told the host how it came about:

“[Producer The Dream said] let’s just have fun. Let’s donate the proceeds, let’s just have fun with it don’t take yourself seriously, try something you’ve never done before.”

Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson sat behind the judges table of the season 10 premiere of American Idol on FOX last night and gave us a slightly different Idol. Most things haven’t changed, Ryan Seacrest is still there, the contestants were all over the map from really good to God awful and of course, the golden tickets to Hollywood were the goal.

One thing sorely missing was Simon Cowell’s sharp criticism. Cowell could be downright mean, but some of those contestants needed a wakeup call. Is it better to have someone let down sweetly who still thinks they have a shot or to hear Cowell bark “That was absolutely dreadful!”?

Tyler tried to give the bad news with the softest ego blow possible saying “Oh, baby. You’re just not ready.” I missed Simon. I don’t want the rejected to end up in the corner in a fetal position crying their eyes out but a good dose of reality is called for on some of the more deluded candidates.

If you watched, you must have noticed Lopez struggling with telling a contestant no, you’re not going to Hollywood. And I did feel for her – she doesn’t want to deny anyone a shot at their dreams. At one point she said out loud “Why did I sign up for this?”

Someone should tell her to toughen up quick because it’s only going to get worse.

Kim Kardashian, Justin Timberlake, Usher and lots of other celebrities are not posting to their Twitter or Facebook accounts in support of Alicia Keys‘ Keep A Child Alive drive to raise $1,000,000 in recognition of World AIDS Day on December 1st.

“It’s really important and super-cool to use mediums that we naturally are on,” Keys said. “It’s so important to shock you to the point of waking up. [...] It’s not that people don’t care or it’s not that people don’t want to do something, it’s that they never thought of it quite like that.”

The stars are staying digitally silent until the goal is reached but 3 days later and the total is nowhere near the million dollar mark. So what gives? Or more accurately what is preventing everyone from ponying up the cash?

I wonder if it’s simply that we are so over saturated by many celebs who use those pages as another kind of commercial to push yet another product, that as a group we are tuning them out (even if we are following them online.) Let’s be honest, twitter and Facebook can be like background noise – it’s there and you know it, you just don’t fully focus your attention on it.

Of course there is also the point that by making the stars give up their primary means of communication, you don’t have the 100 tweets and retweets a day reminding you to give up the cash.

I guess the thought was the silence would be deafening…? This could take a while.

American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest has a new love in his life.  Maybe this will put all of those annoying gay jokes at rest, at least for now.  Seacrest has been falling for Julianne Hough!  How cute are they together?!  I say match made in Heaven!

Ryan even made a surpirse trip with his pal, Kara DioGaurdi to the CMA Music Festival to watch Julianne perform.

“Ryan was so excited to see Julianne that during the 10 minutes it took to get [to the show], Ryan was fixing his hair and making sure he looked perfect to see her,” says a source.

For now Ryan wants to keep this new relationship hush, hush:

“Ryan was adamant he didn’t want anyone to know he was in Nashville to see Julianne,” the source says, “because their relationship is still in its early stages and Ryan really, really likes her.”

This cutie pie couple was spotted hanging out with friends in Malibu (below) so I don’t think they are going to be able to keep it under wraps for too much longer.

Ryan Seacrest has had a stalker after him and it looks like the creep might be caught!

TMZ is reporting that a man that looks just like the guy who attacked Ryan Seacrest’s bodyguard last month has been arrested inside the E! building in Los Angeles. This is where Ryan works on a daily basis to do his show.

We’re told Uzomah went to the lobby and asked to see Seacrest. The guard was aware of Uzomah and E! called the LAPD.

Uzomah — who is 6’4″ and 200 lbs — pled guilty last month in the O.C. hospital incident to three misdemeanors. The judge placed him on three years probation and ordered him to stay away from Ryan.

We’re told Seacrest was in the building at the time Uzomah entered.

UPDATE: The suspect had a knife on him and is being held by the LAPD in the lobby of the E! building.

The suspect has been identified as Chidi Uzomah, who is 6’4″, 200 lbs.

Who knew that hosting a talent show could pay so well? Ryan Seacrest is about to triple his salary as American Idol emcee, making $45 million for three years of work. The Hollywood Reporter says that the contract with CKX, parent company to AI’s producer 19 Entertainment, is said to be the biggest payday ever for a reality TV host.

The three-year deal gives CKX exclusivity on Seacrest’s on-camera services for broadcast TV. Seacrest has a separate cable deal with Comcast and is E! Entertainment’s lead anchor. He also produces such shows as E!’s “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and ABC’s upcoming Jamie Oliver reality series.

It looks like Ryan Seacrest will be pretty busy with his own projects as well as American Idol, his radio show on KIIS FM in Los Angeles, and American Top Forty! Way to go Ryan.
