Will ‘Spider-Man 4′ Be in 3D?

spidey3d

There’s a chance that the next Spider-Man film will be in 3D.

Forbes talked to Sony Pictures Entertainment’s co-chairmen Amy Pascal and Michael Lynton and asked whether they were considering doing Spider-Man 4 in 3-D.

Pascal answered, “Could be,” while Lynton added, “People are paying a premium to see movies in 3-D and that’s a very big deal. It’s never been done before that someone says you have to pay more to see Spider-Man than a romantic comedy.”

I like 3D but I think it needs to be perfected more before it becomes a standard in the industry. I guess they will just do it if people are willing to pay a little extra for it . I imagine by May 6, 2011 (Spidey 4′s release date) 3D will be much more of a standard format.

Talking ‘Spider-Man 4′ and ‘Evil Dead’ Remake with Sam Raimi

Here’s what Sam Raimi said about Spider-Man 4 and a possible Evil Dead remake.

Spider-Man 4Raimi tells MTV that while there has been talk of a fifth film, he is currently only developing “just that one film”, Spider-Man 4. Tobey Maguire is set to return, but no announcement has been made regarding Kirsten Dunst. Raimi insist that he “can’t imagine making a Spider-Man movie without Kirsten”. And while he wouldn’t reveal any plot details, he did confirm that they are “working from all the material in the comic books and nothing [invented] outside of that.” And he tells IGN that he is “in the earliest stages of working with the writer,” and is “closing in on Spider-Man’s adversary or adversaries.”

The director also tells IGN that he has been talking with his partners about “having a young director come in and remake Evil Dead.” The reason he gives for the remake is that the original film was made “in 16mm on a shoestring budget” with mono sound, and he would like to see what Evil Dead would look like with a real budget and real effects.

“It was always meant for the big screen, but never really seen on the big screen,” Raimi tells IGN. “What you could do with it now would be so much better.”

I really hope he can make Spider-Man 4 better than the last one.

‘Spider-Man 4′ Gets a Release Date Whether You Want it or Not

spidey4-5

Even though many people couldn’t care less, Spider-Man 4 has an official release date. That date is May 6, 2011.

The studio and Marvel Entertainment have set a release date of May 6, 2011 for the film, which means once again Spidey will have ruined your summer before Memorial Day.

The most recent Spider-Man movie really left a bad taste in my mouth for this franchise, hopefully Sam Raimi can bring back the freshness of the first two films in this next entry.

Here’s the brand new trailer for the upcoming scary movie from horror master Sam Raimi entitled Drag Me To Hell

It’s nice to see Sam Raimi returning to his roots, and don’t worry the movie still has his comedic flair that we all loved in the Evil Dead movies.

New Details on Sam Raimi’s ‘The Shadow’

MTV got some new info on the upcoming new movie The Shadow. The film is being produced by Sam Raimi andMichael Uslan. Here is what Uslan said:

I think the one thing going in is we all see The Shadow as more of a force of nature than a specific person in a secret identity, Uslan told MTV in an exclusive interview. The Shadow may actually be many people.

Weve gone back to the pulp roots, the comic book roots of The Shadow, with a dash of the radio roots, added Uslan. But weve deeply ensconced ourselves in the world of pulps and comics.

Sounds cool to us, but that begged the question of when well see this Shadow revamp hit the multiplex.

Sam [Raimi] and Josh Donen are my partners and we have it set up Sony, and a wonderful writer named Siavash Farahani who has worked for me before is writing the screenplay, Uslan said. Its coming along great, were very excited about it. You know, it takes time to nurture these things. You probably know all the stories. The first Batman film took me 10 years to get made.

With these guys working on it, you can bet it’s going to be vastly different from the 1994 Alec Baldwin version.

BothSam Raimiand Tobey Mcguire are expected to return, but have yet to formally commit. Kirsten Dunst is also up in the air, although the actress hasvoiced her willingnessto continue as Peter Parkers love interest.

I was honestly expecting a little faster movement towards this sequel. Hopefully they are taking the time to make the script worth it.

New Images from Sam Raimi’s ‘Drag Me To Hell’

New images from Drag Me To Hell directed by the man behind the Spider-Man Films Sam Raimi.

I was on the set of this movie one of the shooting days, I can’t say much due to confidentiality agreements, but it’s definitely going to be a bloody good time. It’s great to see Sam Raimi getting back to his roots.

WhenMTVaskedKirsten Dunstif she would be returning forSpider-Man 4, the actress responded Im in. Which sounds like a done deal if you ask me. But when pressed if she officially signed on to return, the actress changed her tone, Im not saying anything, I know theres rumors

More of that constant screaming is now guaranteed for the next Spidey film.

Toby Maguire Getting $50 Million for Spidey Sequels?

Toby Maguire is apparently trying to pull in a solid $50 Million for the next Spider-Man films, plus a guaranteed daily work hour limitation.

TheTimes Onlinesays hes worked a deal that will earn him a stunning $50 million paycheck for shootingSpider-Man 4&5back to back.

Whats really interesting about his contract, according to their sources, is that in addition to earning a ridiculous amount of money, hes being granted family time as part of the deal. What the heck is family time? Its a lot like part-time maternity leave, apparently. Shooting twoSpideymovies back to back is expected to take anywhere from 6 months to a year, and Maguire has a 22 month old daughter hed rather be spending time with. So his deal will stipulate that hes allowed to take early mornings and evenings off, to hang out with his kid.

I personally wouldn’t mind if they got somebody else to play Spider-Man, they could pay a better choice a lot less money. Not to mention more hours to work.

Raimi & Maguire Locked in for ‘Spider-Man 4′

Sony has locked Sam Raimi andTobey Maguirein to work on the upcoming Spider-Man 4, and the studio may shoot 4 and 5 together!

It’s time to end once and for all the rampant speculation.Sony doesn’t want any info to leak but I’m told that both star Tobey Maguire and director Sam Raimi will be returning to makeZodiacscreenwriter Jamie Vanderbilt‘s script ofSpider-Man 4. Sources tell me that Sony has recently locked in both veterans ofSpider-Man1through3.

I’m also told that, right now,the studio is trying to figure out if it can feasibly shootSpider-Man 4and5at the same time because doing that is so cost effective and”it wasn’t so easy to get everybody back together”.

Great news! Lets hope the next movies are an improvement over Spider-Man 3. Don’t get too excited yet though, Spider-Man 4 will not be released until 2011 as shooting won’t begin until late next year.
