“Sex and the City” star Sarah Jessica Parker is tired of having paparazzi following her everywhere. As paparazzi became neighbors, she also fears for her family’s security:
Parker says, “Photographers moved into apartments next door to us and we really found ourselves kind of living like a spy movie… I feel like they think they have to be there. Like they punch in or something.”
SJP might as well enjoy all her fame and fortune now, because when the “Sex and the City” fever is gone I don’t know what she is going to do… maybe a sequel… and another sequel…

Hats seem to be all the rage lately in Hollywood. Sarah Jessica Parker started it and now Paris Hilton not wanting to be left out has joined in. She was in London promoting her fragrance, Can Can, on Thursday. But I’m sure it looks like she’s getting married. Wow…Paris…why??

Sarah Jessica Parker…what were you thinking when you decided to wear that hat?
Sarah Jessica took this hat as a date wore this hat to the Sex And The City world movie premiere. I’m not really sure what she was thinking or why anyone would want to wear that thing on their head. But what is really getting me is how it stayed on her head!
But, the dress is super cute! I love it!

By anyone’s standards, with the possible exception of Bill Gates, Sarah Jessica Parker is very rich. In 2005 she was estimated to be making $38M - and that was before the Sex and the City movie, for which she’s being paid $10M. Conde Nast estimates her current market value in promotional deals to be around $25M.
Husband Matthew Broderick is no slouch either. He made $3.5M for starring in The Producers on Broadway… and since I just saw Ferris Bueller’s Day Off on TV the other day, I’m pretty sure dude could probably live pretty easily on his residuals alone.
All that money! So why is SJP proudly telling Parade how her 5 year old son James doesn’t get new clothes?
“He only wears hand-me-downs because I’ve got all these older nephews. That’s the God’s honest truth. Plus, my mother saved all my brothers’ clothes. I am not kidding. I don’t think I’ve ever bought him any clothes. Maybe a new winter coat. I do buy him shoes, because everybody’s feet are different.”
I am generally impressed with frugal, don’t get me wrong. But she’s killing me! I am so glad that she decides that her child’s feet merit new shoes - maybe some day she’ll even think to get him some brand new socks and undies too!!

The stars of the Sex and the City movie are gearing up into full promotion mode already! The whole gang - Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Chris Noth - will appear on Oprah this Thursday, May 1.
In their taped interview, SJP tells Oprah:
“I am excited — excited is like a flip-flop to a high heel. Like it doesn’t even describe [it].”
A flip flop to a high heel! Was she in character when she gave that interview? LOL!

I like Robert Downey Jr. He doesn’t seem to make any bones about who he is or what he’s done, and he rarely makes excuses for himself. I was watching him on Biography the other day, and he was talking about his former drug problem, and how so many people want to hide behind the word “addiction,” but he thought if you really wanted to quit, you would. Smart guy.
Anyway, Downey Jr. used to date Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker, and in the new issue of Parade Magazine, he discusses what great character she had for putting up with him, and apologizes for his behavior.
Robert says, “We quickly moved in together and played house. It was idyllic. I was so selfish. I liked to drink, and I had a drug problem, and that didn’t jibe with Sarah Jessica, because it is the furthest thing from what she is. She provided me a home and understanding. She tried to help me. She was so miffed when I didn’t get my act together … I was making money. I was mercurial and recklessly undisciplined and, for the most part, I was happily anesthetized. Sarah Jessica would pull me out of a hangover, and we’d go pick out furniture together. She is a force of nature! … I was in love with Sarah Jessica, and love clearly was not enough. I was meant to move on. And, after some heartache, she was meant to find her home with a great star. [Matthew Broderick] is a lot more gifted and grounded than I ever was. They have a great kid.”

Remember that episode of Sex and the City where Carrie is strutting down the runway in that blue thing and flesh-colored panties and high heels, and suddenly she eats the floor? Well, apparently Sarah Jessica Parker didn’t get the memo that art should imitate life, not the other way around! Here she is “having a nice trip” while shooting for Vogue. We’ve all been there!

Actress Kim Cattrall, the lone hold out to making the Sex and The City movie, is channeling a little Samantha Jones and being completely upfront about doing the movie for the money.
She says, “It’s nice to step into Samantha’s skin again, but I’m only doing the film for the money. Samantha is very dear to me and I have such a wonderful time playing her, but I can’t say more for the experience than wanting financial security. We did it, and we did it well. But it was always about the money. When I made a stand about not being in the movie because I thought the money was terrible, there was a backlash of very negative things from some of my co-stars. The role is very much a double-edged sword.”
Sarah Jessica Parker, I think that dig was aimed at you.

I really like the argyle legging/tights - not that I’d wear it, but I like the look. I also like her new brunette locks. The other 80’s inspired long t-shirt dress is really tired looking. Patricia Fields better come up with something better than this. She’s losing her edge if this is all she’s got.

Ladies, please! On set of the movie version of the hit HBO Show, Sex and The City, two of the principal stars, Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, are still at odds with each other, after all this time. Cattrall has had a bitter taste in her mouth since 2004 when Parker was reported as making a substantial amount of money more than her co-star.
Kim and SJP reportedly fell out over pay inequity during the show’s final 2004 season. It seems that as producer and star, SJP raked in considerably more than Kim on the HBO hit series. Allegedly, that’s also the reason Kim took so long to agree to appease hardcore “Sex” fans and sign on to the film.
It will be interesting to see what they come up with for the plot of this movie. I watched off and on for Patricia Field’s styling of Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie. That was much more entertaining than anything else going on.
