Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Confidence Booster: Not Owning A Scale

Sarah Michelle Gellar talks beauty and confidence boosters for the December issue of Self magazine.

The 34 year-old actress says she doesn’t let how much she does (or doesn’t) weigh rule her attitude.

“You can’t live your life by the scale. We don’t even have one in our house. I’ve never believed in them, because your weight fluctuates. It’s more about how my clothing fits than a number,” Gellar says. “Besides, if you deny yourself everything because you’re so focused on the mirror or the scale, then when do you get to enjoy life?”

Gellar, mother of 2 year-old Charlotte Grace and wife of Freddie Prinze Jr., reveals that even though she’s got a new hit show on The CW, her work on Ringer isn’t as all-encompassing of her life the way that the 16-hour days and lots of weekends were when she starred on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

“My perspective on work has changed: Work doesn’t define who I am,” Gellar confided. “I love what I do, but I don’t feel a burning pressure anymore. And because I’m working for fun, I get to enjoy it!”

Sarah Michelle Gellar Reveals Body Issues To Health Magazine

Sarah Michelle Gellar looks super fit and casual on the cover of the October 2011 issue of Health magazine.

The Ringer actress shared her body insecurities and getting her and husband Freddie Prinze Jr‘s 2 year-old daughter, Charlotte started eating right.

On having issues with her body: “Oh God … I’m a female! I totally have body dysmorphic disorder. I think most women do. A makeup artist friend once said, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you look in a mirror.” I’m surrounded by them all the time—you sit in hair and makeup—so I guess I just have this mechanism where I tune it out. So every once in a while, I’ll look and I’ll be like, “Wait, that’s what I look like?” I just have to remember that I’m human, and I’m a mom. Being a parent changes the vanity at least a little bit. It has to. Your priorities are different.”

On Charlotte’s healthy habits: “Well, we’ve already taught her to love healthy food. We took her to sushi on Saturday night, and everybody couldn’t believe what she inhaled. I think it’s important at a young age to enjoy different tastes. And we make this green juice for her. It’s basically everything but the kitchen sink. We go to the farmers’ market and buy everything and just put it in the juicer: kale, Swiss chard, carrots, celery. You name it. And now we’ve all started drinking it, and we’ve all been healthier.”

‘Ringer’ Star Sarah Michelle Gellar Says ‘I’m Fascinated By Twins’

Tonight is one of TV’s most anticipated new shows debut.

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ringer will premiere to audiences on The CW at 9pm this evening. Gellar plays twins Bridget and Siobhan in the psychological thriller and she says she is very interested in the emotional attachment twins have with each other.

“I’m fascinated by twins,” the Buffy star told Collider. “It’s such an interesting thing. I’m an only child, so I don’t have a sibling. But, if you think about the bond that siblings have, that intensifies so much when you think about being in the womb together.”

“These are two girls that shared everything and were so close, and then something so tragic ripped them apart,” Gellar continued. “It’s like losing a part of yourself because twins are a part of each other. I just think that’s so interesting.”

The story of the two sisters, their secrets and the people around them are going to keep viewers guessing at every turn. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for tonight’s premiere.

Ringer also stars Nestor Carbonell, Ioan Gruffudd and Kristoffer Polaha.

Sarah Michelle Gellar: New ‘Ringer’ Photo

Sarah Michelle Gellar‘s return to TV is almost here.

Ringer is a psychological thriller of twin sisters, Siobhan and Bridget, who have lots of secrets, including that Siobhan has disappeared and Bridget is assuming her identiy.

Gellar said playing both roles can be a head-scratcher.

“I get confused about almost anything,” she laughed. “Every so often I might find myself in a top from one character and in the pants of another character and think, Wait, wrong scene.

“But once you get into the scene, you realize pretty quickly who you are,” Gellar continued. “And it was actually kind of funny because a lot of the castmembers hadn’t done a scene with present-day Siobhan, and we just did the first one yesterday and people were like, ‘Oh it’s so weird, we haven’t met Siobhan yet.’”

The Young & The Restless soap vets Billy Miller and Michelle Stafford are slated for appearances and Veronica Mars actor Jason Dohring has landed a recurring role as well.

Ringer stars Gellar, Nestor Carbonell, Krstoffer Polaha, Ioan Gruffudd and Mike Colter. It premieres on Tuesday, September 13th at 9PM on The CW.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Talks ‘Ringer’ & Her Return To ‘All My Children’

Sarah Michelle Gellar‘s return to TV this fall in The CW thriller Ringer is one of the more exciting prospects that television has to offer but it won’t be her only appearance on the small screen.

Gellar confirmed that she will pop up again in Pine Valley before All My Children shuts down it’s network run on September 23rd.

Speaking at the CBS, The CW & Showtime TCA press conference this week in Beverly Hills, California, the 34 year-old actress told reporters she would indeed head back to ABC – but not as Kendall, her original role.

“I can officially confirm I will be doing a guest spot,” Gellar said.

The actress said she would not take on her original character because someone else is currently playing it. “I was very specific. I don’t want to be Kendall (Hart). That’s Alicia (Minshew’s) role.”

Gellar’s new TV role as a twin who assumes her sister’s life and identity after things go wrong leaves her with the ability to see to her most cherished role – mom to 22 month-old Charlotte Grace, her daughter with actor and husband Freddie Prinze Jr.

“Once I had my daughter, I realized that I was done living the nomadic lifestyle,” Gellar said. ”Although it works for some actors, I want to be home. I want to put her to bed and get up with her in the morning. I want to be there for her first day of school. And nothing offers that more than television. And what’s been so distinct getting back into it was I didn’t know how much I’d missed it.”

Gellar’s Ringer debuts on The CW on Tuesday, September 13th at 9PM.

WATCH: Sarah Michelle Gellar In ‘Ringer’ Clip From Comic-Con

Busting back into television with a dual role, Sarah Michelle Gellar‘s return to TV in Ringer is one of the hot Fall shows to watch.

The beloved Buffy actress plays twins, one trying to get her life in order and the other who’s life seems to be pretty darn perfect.

The official synopsis:

Sarah Michelle Gellar stars as a woman who, after witnessing a murder, goes on the run, hiding out by assuming the life of her wealthy identical twin sister – only to learn that her sister’s seemingly idyllic life is just as complicated and dangerous as the one she’s trying to leave behind.  Bridget is six months sober and starting to turn her life around when she is the sole witness to a professional hit.  Despite the assurances of her FBI protector, Agent Victor Machado, Bridget knows her life is on the line.  She flees to New York, telling no one, not even her Narcotics Anonymous sponsor, Malcolm.  In New York, Bridget reunites with her estranged twin, Siobhan.  Wealthy, pampered and married to the strikingly handsome Andrew Martin, Siobhan lives what appears to be a fairy tale life – a life where no one knows that Bridget exists.  The sisters seem to be mending their frayed relationship, until Siobhan disappears mysteriously, and Bridget makes the split decision to take on her sister’s identity.  She discovers shocking secrets, not only about her sister and her marriage, but also about Siobhan’s best friend, Gemma, and Gemma’s husband, Henry.  And when someone tries to kill Bridget in her sister’s penthouse, she realizes she is no safer as Siobhan than she is as herself.  The series stars Sarah Michelle Gellar as Bridget and Siobhan, Kristoffer Polaha as Henry, Ioan Gruffudd as Andrew Martin, Nestor Carbonell as Agent Victor Machado and Tara Summers as Gemma.

While there will be nothing supernatural about this noir thriller, both of SMG’s sisters will have their stories told through flashbacks although the focus will be mostly on Bridget for season 1 and sister’s rivalry will be explained.

At the Comic-Con panel a new trailer was released and show creator Eric Charmelo spoke about the theme.

“At the end of the day, it’s a character study about twin sisters and the nature of sibling rivalry,” he said. “It’s about identity, and redemption, and revenge.”

“And just when you think you’ve figured something out, we’re going to throw a wrench into the equation and take it on a completely different tangent,” he continued. “It keeps things fresh.”

Sarah Michelle Gellar Heads Back to TV

Sarah Michelle Gellar has been away from series television for too long but hopefully, that’s about to change.

CBS has just picked up the Gellar vehicle Ringer for pilot production.

Ringer, written on spec by Supernatural writer-producers Eric Charmelo & Nicole Snyder, centers on a troubled young woman (Gellar) who, while on the run from the mob, hides out by inhabiting the life of her wealthy twin sister, until she learns that her twin’s life has a bounty on it as well.

The beloved star of Buffy the Vampire Slayer hasn’t been in a television series since Buffy ended in 2003. She has made a few movies since including The Grudge and The Grudge 2 but has stayed fairly low key raising her daughter, Charlotte, with husband Freddie Prinze Jr.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Takes Her Beautiful Bump To Coffee (photos)

Sarah Michelle Gellar growing bump pics

Sarah Michelle Gellar is really starting to get that ‘ready to pop’ look.  She was spotted out in Santa Monica picking up some coffee.  She and her mom, Rosellen were enjoying a little mother daughter time. I am sure Sarah’s mom is giving her all sorts of last minute tips on the do’s and don’t s of new motherhood.  But, I think Sarah will find that you figure out your own way pretty quick.  It just comes naturally.  Plus, she’s got her man, Freddie Prinze Jr to help her through…..

New ‘Buffy’ Movie Confirmed. Without Sara Michelle Gellar?

nogellar

Well a new Buffy movie is definitely in the works, but much to the dismay of many it will probably be a reboot which means there may be a brand new actress playing the slayer.

“Buffy” creator Joss Whedon isn’t involved and it’s not set up at a studio, but Roy Lee and Doug Davison of Vertigo Entertainment are working with original movie director Fran Rubel Kuzui and her husband, Kaz Kuzui, on what is being labeled a remake or relaunch, but not a sequel or prequel.

The new “Buffy” film, however, would have no connection to the TV series, nor would it use popular supporting characters like Angel, Willow, Xander or Spike. Vertigo and Kuzui are looking to restart the story line without trampling on the beloved existing universe created by Whedon, putting the parties in a similar situation faced by Paramount, J.J. Abrams and his crew when relaunching “Star Trek.”

I suddenly have more interest in the concept, I’m really not a fan of Sara Michelle Gellar. A new actor and complete separation from the Joss Whedon‘s TV version is probably best.
