The hacker who illegally accessed phones and email accounts of Christina Aguilera, Vanessa Hudgens, Mila Kunis and Scarlett Johansson and other celebrities has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Christopher Chaney was arrested last October under suspicion of hacking and distributing nude photos of Hudgens and Johansson. He pleaded guilty to nine felony counts earlier this year, including wiretapping, identity theft and unauthorized use of a computer.
His sentence also included a fine of $76,000 in damages, payable to Johansson, Aguilera, and actress Renee Olstead. In June, federal prosecutors recommended that he pay $66,000+ to ScarJo and $7,500 to Xtina; presumably the remainder goes to Olstead.
Chaney could have faced up to 60 years in prison. Looks like he got off easy.
