WATCH: Funny Or Die Video – The Clinton Foundation Celebrity Division With Sean Penn, Matt Damon & More

The Clinton Global Initiative is backed by lots of celebrities who want to do good but perhaps they aren’t as effective as they think as this Funny or Die video points out.

The stars are part of the new Clinton Foundation’s Celebrity Division and Ben Stiller gets the team together for a brainstorming session.

Matt Damon wants a Clinton softball team, Kristen Wiig suggests holding your breath for 1 minute a day, Ted Danson & Mary Steenburgen just want to flirt, Jack Black has a theme song and Kevin Spacey pranks the team with a little reprimand/help from former President Clinton.

Oh and stop taking Sean Penn‘s lunch, y’all!

Sean Penn ‘The Gangster Squad’ Set Photos

Sean Penn was photographed looking intense and intimidating while getting ready to film scenes for his upcoming drama The Gangster Squad in Los Angeles on Thursday.

The period crime drama stars Penn, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone and Josh Brolin with Penn playing Brooklyn-born crime boss Mickey Cohen. (See photos of Ryan and Emma in costume looking ridiculously gorgeous here)

Cohen had the LAPD and politicians of the 1940s under his influence until outsider detectives John O’Mara (Brolin) and Jerry Wooters (Gosling) came along.

The film is based on a seven-part article published in the Los Angeles Times written by Paul Lieberman.

The Gangster Squad has a release date of October 19, 2012.

Great story, great cast – looking forward to this one!

Zach Galifianakis Covers Rolling Stone For July

Zach Galifianakis. The man has no filter and lots of people laugh – until you’re on the receiving end of his pointed barbs, then maybe, not so much.

But if you aren’t Ke$ha, Sean Penn, Nike, Eliza Dushku or parents who let their children watch The Hangover, you’re relatively safe… for now.

Rolling Stone captures some choice Galifianakis comments from the star. Here are a few:

On turning down Sean Penn’s movie offer: “When Sean Penn called to offer him a role in Into the Wild, Galifianakis told him he had an appointment at Arby’s and to ‘send my Jews the script.’”

On how much he disklikes Ke$ha: “I saw that Ke$ha woman the other day,” he says. She’d e-mailed him about getting a drink, and a few days later, he ran into her in a bar. “She was sitting by herself, and I walked up to her and said, ‘Listen, I got your e-mail. Your music is really bad! I don’t know who listens to it, but I imagine it’s, like, six-year-olds – and it’s a bad message.’ ”

On parents who let their kids watch The Hangover: When little kids tell him they loved The Hangover, he’ll tell them they have terrible parents. “And I mean it.”

Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn Are Totally Over

Their relationship was never officially confirmed, but there’s no point now:  Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn are through.   A source told People that the couple had split, but no specific reasons were given.

You’ve got to be kidding me if you really want a reason for why they broke up.  Was this really intended to last?  The only reason I can think that they were even together was  the good ol’ rebound.  Because what you totally want to do, if you’re Scarlett, and have been married to a hottie like Ryan Reynolds, is hook up with a guy who is, while not bad looking, twice your age and really kind of screwed up his marriage to Robin Wright Penn.

The good news here is that I can stop being mildly grossed out every time I hear about them together.  Good luck to them both in finding partners who are actually suitable for them.

Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin in Talks For ‘Gangster Squad’

Sean PennRyan Gosling and Josh Brolin are all in talks to star in the upcoming film Gangster Squad.

Warner Bros has begun negotiating with Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin to star in Gangster Squad, the Will Beall-scripted crime drama that will be directed by Zombieland helmer Ruben Fleischer. Production will begin in the fall…

…The drama, based on a series of articles by Paul Lieberman, is the fact-based tale of the crime fighting exploits of a squad of elite Los Angeles officers in the 1940s charged with stopping him and other mobsters. Screenwriter Beall is a former South Central Los Angeles cop who wrote the novel L.A. Rex.

Sounds like it has a lot of potential, especially if they get all three of these guys onboard. Zombieland was a great little movie so I’m glad Ruben Fleischer is onboard to direct this one. These guys seem fit for a period piece set in L.A., the city has such a rich history, one that’s often overshadowed by Chicago and New York in film and television.

Sean Penn Lost Half Of Everything In His Divorce

Sean Penn has spilled about his split from Robin Wright Penn, and now we know the details of the divorce that I honestly never thought was actually going to happen.

I got practical issues, like everybody . . . I had just got taken for one half of everything I had in the divorce, so it’s not like I don’t have to work.

Just got “taken”?  Come on, Sean.  If you didn’t have a pre-nup then the laws of your state apply, and California is a community property state, after all.  If you failed to protect what you wanted to protect, that’s no one’s fault but your own.  Anyway, I’m sure 50% of Sean Penn’s “everything” is more than most people ever hope to see in a few lifetimes. Boo freakin’ hoo.

Robin Wright Penn Files For Divorce

I for one am glad it’s over.  They weren’t right for each other for the past few years.  Not sure why they dragged it out.  But, the papers are a done deal in Marin County, CA.

Best of luck to you both….

Robin Wright Penn Files For Divorce

In the back and forth that is the marriage of Robin Wright Penn and husband, Sean Penn, there is a new chapter.  On August 12, Robin Wright Penn filed for divorce, again.

In 2007 the couple had filed for divorce, only to reconcile asking the courts to dismiss their divorce petition in April 2008.  A year later, Sean filed for separation and joint custody of their two children only to ask for another dismissal in May 2009.

If a recent interview Robin did with MORE Magazine is any indicator, this latest divorce filing may be for good.

“I hit that crossroad a while ago. For Robin, the ‘I know what I don’t want’ was flashing neon lights,” she told MORE magazine. “I have no regrets. I, we, have two amazing children we raised together.”

Knowing these two, though, they’ll be back together before Christmas.

Liraz Charhi Joins Watts and Penn for ‘Fair Game’

musique3

Actress Liraz Charhi is joining Naomi Watts and Sean Penn for the upcoming film Fair Game.

The Israeli actress has been cast in “Fair Game,” the Doug Liman-directed drama about outed CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson. Naomi Watts already has been cast as Plame. Sean Penn plays her husband, ambassador Joseph Wilson.

Charhi will play Sawsan, an Iraqi doctor in Cleveland whom Plame sends undercover to Baghdad to gather intelligence on Saddam Hussein’s nuclear program in exchange for bringing her brother to the U.S.

The movie centers on how Plame’s status was compromised because of a leak from the Bush administration, allegedly in retaliation for a 2003 op-ed piece her husband wrote claiming the administration manipulated intelligence on Iraq.

Sounds like a very intriguing film, with some great actors. I’m looking forward to seeing more about this one.
