Chris Pine Furry In Plaid

Chris Pine Eating Out

Chris Pine was spotted on his way out from the Il Capriccio restaurant in Los Angeles with a ‘doggie bag’ today. You would think someone that is in the blockbuster movie Star Trek wouldn’t have to worry about bring leftovers home. But that just shows that fame hasn’t got to him.

And the funny thing is that Chris almost turned down the role as Captain Kirk in Star Trek. Chris has already accepted the role in Joe Carnahan’s adaptation of James Ellroy’s novel White Jazz when he got the part in Star Trek.

“It was a huge decision choosing between the films. I was presented with an unbelievable and really difficult choice. To pick acting with Clooney and playing a character role instead of doing another leading man role was very appealing to me.

“But it was when a friend asked if, in five years time, looking back, would I regret not taking Star Trek, that I knew I didn’t want to be in the position of wondering what-if?”

I think that Chris made the right decision. Even I couldn’t turn down Star Trek.

Zachary Quinto as the New Spock: First Photo

Spock

OK! Magazine has the first photo of Heroes villain Zachary Quinto as Spock in the upcoming Star Trek prequel. Wow, is that Leonard Nimoy? He looks like he is going to make a great Spock, but I’d rather have my brains eaten by Sylar any day than go out with this character!

Winona Ryder

Our little (reformed?) shoplifting heroine, Winona Ryder has signed on to play the Vulcan mom of Mr. Spock (Zachary Quinto of Heroes fame,) in the next Star Trek installment to be helmed by JJ Abrams.

The role will see Ryder don the prosthetic pointy ears made famous by Leonard Nimoy in the sci-fi series. Directed by J.J. Abrams, the film will focus on the early journey of the original Enterprise crew and is due for release in December next year.

Always love Winona no matter if it’s store security footage or a major film role.
