Brand New ‘Adventures of Tintin’ Image

Here’s a fresh new image from the upcoming Steven Spielberg movie The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn.

Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures Present “The Adventures of Tintin” directed by Steven Spielberg from a screenplay by Steven Moffat and Edgar Wright & Joe Cornish. Starring Jamie Bell (“Billy Elliot,” “Defiance”) as Tintin, the intrepid young reporter whose relentless pursuit of a good story thrusts him into a world of high adventure, and Daniel Craig (“Quantum of Solace,” “Defiance”) as the nefarious Red Rackham.

This image isn’t very revealing other than the fact that it’s giving a very clear view of our hero. The teaser trailer was very purposefully concealing of his face, which to me seems pointless anyway. The movie looks cool, and it’s Steven Spielberg, but his last movie Indiana Jones 4 was pretty bad in my opinion. I hope this is a return to form for him.

Steven Spielberg’s ‘War Horse’ Trailer Premiers

Here’s the trailer for Steven Spielberg‘s new film War Horse.

It looks touching and intense, I really hadn’t heard much about this film before this trailer. I’m guessing this will be one of the big highlights of this holiday season. This may be the story of a young person and their horse, but this ain’t My Friend Flicka.

Shia LaBeouf Talks Steven Spielberg & Why He Wants To Indie Films

Shia LaBeouf lands the biggest movie franchises with director Steven Spielberg championing his burgeoning career. But is the actor content to stay on this path? It doesn’t sound like it.

Speaking about being hand-picked by Spielberg for both the Transformers movies and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, he says he both loves it and he is uncomfortable with the possibility of stagnating.

“That’s a gift and a curse,” LaBeouf told the LA Times. “Steven introduced me to the world in a way. The man has been incredible to me. But the work that I’ve done with him, the character variation is not heavy. It’s sort of all in the same vein. … I’ve gotta anchor these movies that are in these outrageous worlds, and I have to be as tangible as possible. … I have no problem with that, but I don’t want to be there forever.”

The 24 year-old actor says that he finds himself at a point where he wants to make the decisions of which movies to take, not have a team of people to chose for him. LaBeouf says he’s ready to do more exploring in the character-driven roles of indie films.

“When you’re a racehorse and you’ve got 20 trainers, all the trainers want the racehorse to run a certain way,” LaBeouf says. “What does the racehorse want to do? ‘Wettest’ [The Wettest County in the World, his indie film due later this year] is the first time they’ve ever asked the racehorse. I’ve been running for a team of people for a long time and I don’t take any of it back. … I’ve learned a great deal about a certain type of filmmaking. But I have ambitions toward another type of filmmaking that I haven’t been allowed to engage in yet.”

For now, the actor says he’s just working on patience.

“There’s this coming-of-age thing that’s happening within me. I’ve come from family-fare, pop-culture, Steven Spielberg-safe, made-for-a-generalized-populace [projects], and I have these yearnings to do different things. Which way is this boy gonna go? I have no idea. … I’m just reading and being patient now for the first time.”

Michael Bay Says Steven Spielberg Wanted Megan Fox Fired From ‘Transformers’

If you didn’t know any better, you’d have to wonder if Megan Fox is still in the Transformers movie out this summer because no one can stop talking about her.

Case in point, Michael Bay is taking interview time to clarify who it was that wanted Fox fired from Transformers 3: Dark Side of the Moon.

After Fox spoke to Wonderland magazine and said that Bay wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he’s a nightmare to work for,” the director told GQ that producer Steven Spielberg wasn’t having anymore of her nonsense.

“She was in a different world, on her BlackBerry. You gotta stay focused. And you know, the Hitler thing. Steven said, ‘Fire her right now,’” Bay said.

Bay says he wasn’t really bothered by Fox running her mouth in the press but he takes a moment to mock-apologize to the actress, who apparently didn’t like long hours, according to the filmmaker.

“I wasn’t hurt, because I know that’s just Megan. Megan loves to get a response. And she does it in kind of the wrong way. I’m sorry, Megan. I’m sorry I made you work twelve hours. I’m sorry that I’m making you show up on time. Movies are not always warm and fuzzy.”

While Fox and Spielberg did not address the situation, Bay went on to say that everything is water under the bridge now.

“She [Megan] sent me a text three months ago. She said, “I hope you’re doing well.” I responded, “Who is this?” She goes, “Megan, you dork!” I said, “Oh, well, thank you, hope you’re well.” When you’re days and months on a set, it’s like a family. You say rude things and you make up.”

Transformers 3: Dark Side of the Moon starring Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox Rosie Hungtington-Whiteley comes out June 29th.

‘Jurassic Park 4′ Becoming a Reality from Spielberg

Steven Spielberg is looking to get a script together to make Jurassic Park 4.

Steven Spielberg has dinosaurs back on the brain lately. In addition to the impending launch of the television series Terra Nova on Fox in the fall, Spielberg has been meeting with screenwriter Mark Protosevich to kick around ideas for how to re-boot the Jurassic Park franchise.

Unless a fourth script has some pretty phenomenal writing and major twists, I won’t be too excited about this one. I liked the first three movies, but there was nothing truly special about the last two, special effects only go so far. Making a fourth film seems like it’s more of a sure financial bet than a truly good idea.

Japanese ‘Super 8′ Poster Channels Old Spielberg

Here’s the new Japanese poster for the upcoming movie Super 8 from director J.J. Abrams.

This poster borrows from Spielberg posters of years past, Close Encounters, E.T., Poltergeist, War of the Worlds. Hey if a formula works, it works. I’m really hoping this movie is as good as it looks.

Spielberg’s First ‘Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn’ Teaser Trailer

Here’s the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Steven Spielberg film The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn.

This teaser really doesn’t give anything away, but it certainly shows off the unique animation/live-action hybrid style. I get the feeling more and more movies are going to employ this style in coming years. It’s great to finally have another Spielberg film on it’s way after his most recent and disappointing Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. This is the first movie in a trilogy, Peter Jackson is directing the next one. I really hope these movies are as good as they have the potential to be!

Full Length ‘Super 8′ Trailer Looks Great

Here’s the full trailer for the upcoming film Super 8 from director J.J. Abrams.

This trailer really makes the movie look great. It has the feel of an older Spielberg film, with the great elements of suspense and intrigue that J.J. Abrams is so good at bringing out. I’m really looking forward to this one, my only fear is the number of child actors. It’s hard to find convincing young actors, for some reason their bad acting is often overlooked in movies. I do have a lot of faith in J.J. Abrams, so I’m pretty sure this one will be good.

Awesome posters! It’s great to see the first visuals for what is sure to be a huge trilogy. The first film The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn will be out on December 23rd, 2011. The second film will be out in 2013 and the final film is set for 2015. I’m glad we have a great new trilogy to look forward to!
