Susan Boyle Aims High, Wants To Be As Big As The Beatles

No one can ever accuse Susan Boyle of not setting her sights high enough.  The singer recently told The Sun UK that despite her monster success, she’s not done yet.  In fact, she says that what would make her really happy is to be as big as the Fab Four themselves.  Susan said:

“The Beatles are still around now, their records live on. I hope to be in the same calibre one day. I know I’ve got a lot to do yet though. I’d like to meet Paul [McCartney]. If he ever wanted to perform together, I’d have no problem with it – here I am, baby!”

Huh.  So I can’t help but think of John Lennon‘s infamous “more popular than Jesus” comment.  Which was totally taken out of context, but that’s not part of this story.   But look – what I really want to know is, why hasn’t anyone introduced SuBo to Paul yet?  Someone give the girl a break and help her figure out how to take advantage of some of the better perks that come with fame!

Is Susan Boyle’s Management Team Keeping Her Poor?

Singing sensation Susan Boyle has millions of dollars in the bank. She should be living the high life, don’t you think?  However, her brother Gerry Boyle has raised concerns about her management team, whom he says are forcing her to live far more frugally than she rightfully should.

His allegations:  Susan is only allowed to have $477/week.    She is not allowed to have a credit card.  They arranged for her to purchase a new home, but she could not move in because she didn’t have access to enough money to buy furniture.   He said:

“So she’s still stuck in the small council house where we all grew up. She should be able to walk into a bank anywhere and say she wants £50,000 cash. That may not be advisable, but it would be HER choice because it’s HER money.

“Susan is baffled about money. All she wants to do is sing. So we asked the questions that should have been asked a while ago. WHY doesn’t she even have a credit card? WHY does she feel she doesn’t have control over her finances? …She shouldn’t be worried about money when she has millions in the bank.”

Gerry is also worried that her perceived financial distress is taking its toll on his sister:

“She looks very distraught at the moment.  Susan doesn’t look as if she’s a successful international chart star. She’s lonely and downtrodden. And she’s got this paranoia that she’s going to go back to square one, back to where she was before Britain’s Got Talent.”

When questioned about these issues, Susan’s management said that they are working on furnishing her house.  They also confirmed the amount of her allowance, but “said she could have more at any time if she wanted.”

Wow.  Poor Susan.  I can see having a financial advisor to help you manage your money – after all, most of us would not have a clue how to deal with sudden millions.  But these folks sound like control freaks.  And I wonder how much money each of the people on her management staff are paying themselves?

Susan Boyle To Write An Autobiography

Susan Boyle At Her Home In Scotland

Britain’s Got Talent singing sensation Susan Boyle has signed a deal to write her autobiography.  The book is due out this fall.  Susan explained why she is inspired to tell her story:

“I’m writing this book to try to show that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover and I hope it will benefit other people…My story demonstrates that you shouldn’t just look at the label, you should look at the whole person, emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually, and I hope that telling it will show that dreams are not impossible, if you’ve got courage and a willingness to go on – no matter what the circumstances.

“When I strutted on to the stage for that audition, I was a scared wee lassie, still grieving for my mother, not caring how I looked.  I think I’ve grown up a lot in the last year, become more of a lady, and I’m not so frightened any more.”

The book will be called The Woman I Was Born To Be.

Susan seems to be finding it slightly difficult to “go on, no matter what the circumstances”… she recently postponed her Australian tour and canceled several scheduled appearances, saying she “desperately needs to rest.” Poor Susan!   Get some rest and feel better soon!
