‘The City’ Finale: Preview of Juicy Details!

jay lyon and whitney port, the city

After Jay left Whitney in tears to go on tour as a single man on last Monday’s episode of The City, we all threw stuff at the TV in despair… Our beloved Whit was heartbroken! But it seems that tonight there might be some sort of reconciliation between the two, as well as some major verbal fisticuffs between Erin and Adam over how he treats her friend, Allie. In addition, we will get a Lauren Conrad fix when Whitney calls her, wondering if she made a mistake by moving to NYC. Plus, she gets some one-on-one time with Diane von Furstenburg herself. Lucky!!

Tune in tonight at 10/9pm CST on MTV, and come back here for all the juicy details!!!

While I’m so sad about The City being gone for months (it has been picked up for more episodes), it’s bittersweet. That means The Hills is coming back, but I almost dread that, too, because this is Lauren’s last season! Agh!!!!

‘The City’: The Big Break Up

whitney port, the city

Jay and Adam are at a movie talking about the band’s tour, and discuss whether he leaves single or attached and how he needs to make up his mind. Duh!

At DVF, Olivia and Whitney get an assignment that calls for them to work closely together and do a big, important presentation. Whitney looks thrilled!

Whitey and Jay meet up at Felix Restaurant in SoHo for dinner and Jay is nervous until he spills the beans about the tour- and that it’s in just five days. They get into the trust issue, and Whit wonders why he waited so long to tell her about it (he’s known for a month). She gets up, leaves him, and tells him to find somewhere else to stay tonight. Ouch.

Whitney tells Erin about what’s going on. She shares that things in their relationship keep getting piled on and she doesn’t know how to handle it, and is unsure if he even likes her anymore.

Olivia and Whitney begin working on their project, but Liv is very distracted with taking pictures and interrupting everything she says. Whit was obviously frustrated, with good reason.

At Fig & Olive, the girls get together and dish about Jay and Whitney’s situation. They talk about how much fun it would be for her to be single in the city, but how much she really cares about him…

Back at DVF, Whitney is nauseas about the presentation, and of course Olivia acts like it’s no biggie. Whitney nails it, and Olivia stumbles over her words and pretty much sucks- bad. Karma, baby!!!

Jay shows up at Whitney’s apartment and she says she’s not willing to give up on their relationship. Jay says he feels like he constantly feels like he’s doing something wrong, and doesn’t want to be gone on tour always wondering if he’ll get a phone call about something he’s done. Whitney tells him not to be so angry, and he says she’s got the problem most of the time. When she says she feels like he doesn’t listen, he goes off. She says she doesn’t want to be a burden, and he says he wants to be focused and be by himself.

Whitney says she doesn’t mean enough to him to make it work, and he says it’s just the wrong timing. They’re both crying, and he just leaves. Awesome dude.

Next week’s season finale looks like a doozy, where Whitney and Lauren talk about her coming back to the OC, Jay tells her he loves her, and she gets some one-on-one time with Diane von Furstenburg herself. I can’t wait!!

‘The City’ Recap: Major Drama in South Beach!

whitney port

Erin and Allie dish about her new photo shoot with some new hot guy and how she’ll miss the big trip.

The crew (minus Allie) heads to Adam’s home town of Miami. Whitney tells the girls that she gave Jay two weeks to stay with her until he finds something else. She talks about how the last time Jay was there he was with Danielle- the girl he was “so in love with.” Someone tells her that she was obsessed with him, stalked him and it was all before Whit came in the picture.

In the pool, Jay gives Adam grief about kicking him out, forcing him to live with Whit.

At Allie’s photo shoot, things get hot and the dude asks her out for a beer or a Snapple. Weird, much?

In South Beach, the gang hits up Club Liv- there are boobs and hot bodies everywhere- and Danielle shows up. She and Jay talk how when she was in New York last they went home together, which “put him in a really awkward position” and has been on his mind ever since. Um, ok? Whitney sees them and gets concerned. Adam is being hit on by a constant montage of ladies.

“Dani” approaches Whitney to apologize about causing drama. Whitney kind of brushes it off, and when Jay comes to talk about it, he says that he knows he’s been honest, has nothing to hide and is glad that she trusts him. Whitney questions why if he did nothing wrong he cared so much about it in the first place.

Erin eyes all the women surrounding Adam and gives Allie a call. She tells her that he’s acting so flirty with so many women, and Allie goes on about how bad it sucks that she has to worry every time they are away. Meanwhile, Adam encourages more women to come around, and Whit and Erin talk about how he’s a cheater.

After the phone call, Allie takes model boy up on the offer for a drink.

Jay and Whitney are back at the apartment in NY, and she questions why Danielle was there in the first place. Jay explains that she’s from Miami and part of Adam’s group of friends. She tells him that she trusted him, but felt like he was over-justifying the situation to cover something up. Whitney says that the conversation’s making her nauseas and she doesn’t want to be played for a fool.

Erin and Samantha meet up at Bergdorf Goodman and dish about Adam’s playboy ways in Miami. They talk about how Allie’s too fragile and how it hurts to hear about the real Adam.

Adam brings roses to Allie. She asks him why he surrounded himself with girls in Miami, and he turns everything around on her. She tells him that she got a drink with the model guy, and she cries about how hard it is to trust him. She tells Adam that she’s been looking for a place and needs her own space. Adam says he’s worried that he’s losing her and wants thing to be the same as they used to be. (He’s probably referring to their time together before MTV instigated drama)

Whitney and Jess talk about the Dani drama, and she wants to know the truth about him. Jess worries that she might cross the line and Whit would hear things she wouldn’t want to hear. She says he has a temper, can be untrustworthy, tells little lies, and “there’s always something with Jay”… Ouch.

A full episode without Olivia!!! More of these, please!!!!

‘The City’ Recap-”Unexpected Roommates”, Jay Moves in with Whitney!!!

jay and whitney

Erin and Whitney discuss Duncan coming in town now that she’s hanging out with JR again.

At the DVF office it’s time for the Christmas party and Olivia is her usual annoying, aggressive self. When Olivia tells her to not get drunk that night “and like fall on your face”, Whitney tells her “Great tip, Olivia! I learn something new from you everyday.” Ouch!

Sunken faced Allie talks with Adam about how Jay is unhappy with her living with them. She tells him they need space, but he loves waking up next to her everyday and doesn’t want her to go anywhere. Sweet!

JR shows up at the holiday party where Erin and Duncan are making out. The two boys meet and it’s very awkward, so Duncan pulls her away to tell her that it’s not ok for her to be hanging out with JR. She tells him that part of her will always love JR, and he tells her to put that part of her behind her.

Olivia wakes her bum-tastic cousin Nevan and tells him to find a job. When she leaves, he goes back to sleep.

At Adam’s work, he and Jay talk about “the living situation.” He tells him that he wants Allie to live with him, and Jay goes off on him that they fight all the time and he can’t believe he’s kicking out his “best mate” for her.

At Erin’s apartment, hairy caveman Duncan talks with her about JR showing up at the party. She tells him that she’s confused because every time he’s in town she falls more in love with him, but that he can trust her. He’s worried about being part of a love triangle. She tells him she needs time to think about it, and he rolls out.

Olivia presents Nevan with a list of apartments and gives him a guilt trip about not looking for a job. She’s very condescending. Shocker!

At Whitney’s apartment, she and Erin get ready for New Year’s Eve and celebrate Erin’s single status. At the party, Jay shows up in a glitter vest, bowtie and top hat. He tells Whitney about Adam’s plans for Allie to move in and him to move out- then he asks if he could stay with her until he finds a new place. Geesh, things are moving fast, eh? The New Year is brought in with a major kiss, and Erin is left feeling alone and in tears. She wants Duncan to call her and Jay comforts her. Whitney tells Jay he is always welcome and they both share how happy they are to be with each other. Erin calls Duncan and leaves a drunk voicemail.

The next morning, a hungover Jay tells Whitney that in 2009 he wants to party less and focus on music more. Then he makes mention of him staying with her and her looking after him, making him dinner and tea. Um, ok?

‘The City’ Episode Recap: Whitney and Olivia Throw Down

the city

Whitney and Jay eat lunch and discuss his Cutting Room gig. Jay is concerned about Olivia coming and “having to mingle with the commoners.” Probably a good call, bud!

Olivia and her cousin Nevan get lunch and dish being dragged to a sweaty, hipster hang out. He even refers to it as her “good deed for the day.” Right.

Erin and Whit go to scoop up Olivia who is obsessively straightening her couch pillows. Whitney tells her they’re in a rush, but Liv says they should drink champagne- Jay can wait. She’s so considerate. Turns out Jay’s band doesn’t want to keep the crowd waiting, so they go ahead and start.

The girls get there and Olivia is uncomfortable about bumping into those around her… at a concert. Erin’s ex-boyfriend- the love of her life- shows up. Olivia leaves and Jay and his bandmates grill Whitney about being late.

At work the next morning, Whitney tells Olivia she felt bad about being late. Olivia then let her in on a little secret- a band had fallen through for a charity gig and she got Jay the gig! Surprise! This should go well…

When Whitney tells him about it, he makes fun of it at first but agrees to try it out.

Erin and her ex, JR, go to dinner and he tells her she still is where his heart is. He asks her how he feels, and she said she didn’t know. JR asks if Duncan knows they are having a candlelit dinner and Erin squirms… oh yeh, you have a boyfriend!

Erin, Whit and Samantha talk about Erin’s boy troubles… and she decides to go see him at work that night.

At the charity gig, Nevan and Olivia make fun of Jay’s band calling them “doowop” and “The Beach Boys.” Then they are so disgusted that Jay left without saying goodbye. Backwards much?

Erin heads up to see JR and breaks down crying, feeling very confused. She tells him she doesn’t know if they can still hang out- probably a good idea there, friend.

Back at DVF, Olivia and Whitney share some very awkward silence and then Whitney tells Olivia she felt stabbed in the back. Liv replies that she can’t control Nevan’s actions and that perhaps Jay should have worn a suit to the event. Whit fired back that Jay doesn’t usually attend those types of events and Liv tells her that work isn’t the time or place to be discussing personal matter… And we all hate Olivia even more!!

MTV Stages Fake Fist Fight on ‘The City’

whit and olivia

Before the show ever aired, there were already reports that many parts of The City were staged and fake. And now there are more accusations that the producers at MTV tried to get “social” Olivia Palermo and star Whitney Port to get into a physical altercation at work. Right, because that would have been SO believable!

“MTV wanted the girls to get into a physical fight at the [company's] office,” a source told the Post. “Olivia was very disturbed by the request . . . The girls were both really uncomfortable.”

The source added that Port and Palermo both rejected therequest and threatened to stop filming the show, which allegedly caused the show’s producers to come up with a new plan.

“MTV responded to the protests by turning the ‘fight’ scene into an altercation at work, in which Olivia gets upset at Whitney’s boyfriend [Jay Lyon] for showing up to a fund-raiser underdressed,” the source told the Post. “[Although,] Olivia could care less about what Jay is wearing.”

But of course MTV denies any of this ever happened…

“On Friday we shot with Whitney and Olivia at [Diane von Furstenberg's offices], during which time no physical altercation took place. We would never encourage our talent to engage in that type of negative behavior,” a representative for MTV said according to the Post.

‘The City’- The Return of Evil Kelly Cutrone

whitney and erin

Erin meets with the president of One Management for a job interview and impresses the dude and gets the job! Allie comes over and all the girls celebrate with some champagne and get a warning from Whitney about the bluntness of Kelly Cutrone. Upon meeting her, Erin asks what she thinks of the outfit, and Kelly dogs the choice of leggings. Then two seconds after meeting, she tells Erin that she looks too skinny and asks if she’s “ok” over and over again.

JR, Erin’s ex-boyfriend, walks up to the table and the other girls leave to go dance. Again Whitney and Allie go to talk to drunk Kelly, and she tells her that she’s so skinny and that if she needs help to let her know, ticking off Allie to the point that she straight gets up and leaves. Oops. Whitney runs out the door after her and Allie vents about “who does she think she is”… Whitney apologizes and they walk off together.

The next morning, JR is at Erin’s apartment (I thought she was in love with Duncan the Canadian, but oh well). Looks scandalous, but I think he just crashed. Wasn’t much romance as he left. Erin heads to Whitney’s apartment and they talk about the return of her first love, JR. Allie shows up and explain that she’s healthy and happy, and most importantly- she works- and that’s what matters after all. She’s a model and models are skinny, duh.

At Erin’s first day, president Scott Lips invites her to a party and she gets to know co-worker Dan who she divulges her personal life to. (And he predicts she ends up with JR).

Adam, Allie and Jay show up at the party for One Management. Then Kelly Cutrone walks in the door and apologizes to Allie in front of Scott. Kelly goes on and on about how pretty another model at the table is, and Allie is obviously uncomfortable.

At work, Whitney and Olivia discuss the body image situation and what Kelly said to Allie. Once again, Olivia gives unsolicited advice to Whitney to let it go and is apparently not the listening, nice friend.

At the market, Allie and Adam go shopping and talk more about the party and Kelly’s need to get into other people’s business. She reiterates how “healthy” she is. Riiiight.

Whitney meets up with Kelly and apologizes for leaving her birthday party. Kelly explains that Allie is too thin even by industry standards and when Whitney brings up that her agency hasn’t said anything, Kelly says they probably will. Whit explains that they are just very different and she couldn’t say such a thing to someone. Nothing’s accomplished, but maybe Whitney feels better.

Next week, we see Olivia and Whit get into it. Geesh! It’s about time!!!!!! They need to cut Olivia- drama or no drama, nobody likes her on the show, dude!!!!

‘The City’ Full Episode Recap: He Never Told Me He Had a Girlfriend

the city

Allie and Whit talk about whether Ali should question the girl who said she kissed Adam. Whit advised there was no need if she believed him, but she wasn’t convinced.

Whitney talks to Olivia about the drama and invites her to Adam’s show at Collective Hardware, but warns her it might be tense. Olivia straight up tells her she doesn’t want to hear it and Whitney should stay out of it. Whit expresses that she needed someone to talk to about it, but obviously Liv wasn’t the one. It was rough.

Samantha and Catarina (the girl he supposedly cheated with) talk about going to the art show and how awkward it will be with Adam and Allie there.

Jay straight up asks Adam if anything actually happened… all we see is Adam shrug. Commercial.

Whit and Erin talk about how girls gotta look out for each other, especially with guys like Adam, and how interesting the night should be with everyone there.

It’s party time and the art opening is bumpin’. Allie and Catarina talk after some awkward time and Cat shares that she and Adam kissed and that he never told her he had a girlfriend. She apologizes and insists that she didn’t intend on being “that girl”. Both girls are in tears and Allie runs to the bathroom, followed by Whit. Adam tries to comfort her and keeps on with the denial. They end up fighting in the street and she leaves in a cab.

Olivia and her live-in cousin talk trash about the caliber of people at the party and how Whit should make new friends. Could they BE any bigger snobs?

Whitney and Jay talk about it, and Jay tells her that Adam straight up said it didn’t happen. Whitney expresses her concern about Jay’s close friendship with Adam and that friends are a reflection of a person, which sets him off.

Adam and Allie go to dinner and talk it out. Allie expresses her embarrassment over what happened, but then tells Adam she loves him and can’t believe a stranger over him.

The End.

Next week Kelly and Olivia call Allie fat… seriously?

‘The City’ Episode Recap- “Good Things Come in Threes”

Whitney Port started off the episode with some one-on-one time with Diane von Furstenburg herself complimenting her work, much to Olivia Palermo‘s chagrin. Jealous much?

Whitney and Erin go to lunch and talked about Whit’s unsuccessful DTR with Jay, and how they will probably “take a step back.” At work, Whitney gets a big assignment and Olivia is granted her assistant. Ouch!

Duncan wants to move to NYC to be with Erin, but she wants to take it slower. After all, she’s only 24 and needs things to look forward to (I was married at 24, but whatever)… Oh yeh, and they’ve only been together 2 weeks.

At the event Whitney meets fun boys, and Olivia gets weirder and weirder. One of those boys, Chris, asks Whitney out in front of all of the girls, and she agrees.

Whitney and Chris grab lunch at The Diner in the Meatpacking District. Chris is cute, but doesn’t have the sex appeal of Jay and Whitney does not seem interested. She tells the girls at work that their was no chemistry and he was too shy, and that she will probably tell Jay about the date so there’s no “sneakiness”.

Duncan leaves, sad that Erin doesn’t want him in NYC.

Whitney meets Jay at Los Dados and tells him about her lunch with Chris. Jay accuses her of trying to make him jealous, but later concedes that it’s her life and she can do whatever she wants.

Jay talks to Adam about being exclusive with Whitney, exclaiming “she’s a keepah!” Later we see Jay coming to get Whitney, but before they leave, he pours wine and asks her to talk. He asks her to be his girlfriend and take it to the next level, and they both reveal it’s the third relationship for each of them… hence “good things come in threes.” Then they make out. Woohoo Whitney!!!

‘The City’ Episode Recap: “The L Word” (Photos)

On last night’s episode of The City, Whitney and Olivia worked a photo shoot for the DVF online catalog. They got to choose all the feature outfits, which she said was a really big job. At the shoot, Whitney went against Olivia’s advice to come with her to explore the city to find apartments and left to meet Jay at one he picked out for her with 30th floor amazing views in Gramercy. She said yes to it on the spot, in a rush to get out of Erin Lucas’ apartment now that Doug- her Toronto native boyfriend- was shacking up. MTV made it seem to be the first apartment she saw, but I am sure that was editing… and judging by that place, Whit’s making some major bank.

When Whitney told Olivia about the decision, Liv jumped on her for being too dependent on Jay. Awwwwkkkkward. Erin and Doug got into a super-sweet convo, and Erin revealed to Whitney and Jay that they said the “l word”… Jay questioned whether it was real or just intense lust, and we saw Whitney squirm. He elaborated that he feels it’s important to wait at least 3-4 months to go there, and Erin and Doug had only been together a matter of weeks. Mood killer much?

Olivia blabbed on and on to her girly guy friend about how stupid Whitney is for taking the apartment and not listening to her… Boring.

Whitney met up with Jay, and talked more about Erin’s relationship and use of that word. Then they had the DTR talk (define the relationship)… Jay wanted to take it slow because he was finally in a place in his life where he was doing what he really wants, and one thing he really wants is to keep getting to know Whit. She made it clear that she wants to be a priority, and while he said she was, she didn’t really seem to get the answer she was hoping for.
