The Duke & Duchess Of Cambridge Attend Zara Phillips Wedding

Kate Middleton

William and Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, attended the wedding of Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall on Saturday.

Kate wore a cream-colored coat dress with a matching hat. Her favorite stand-by nude pumps and a small clutch completed her ensemble.   William wore a black morning coat and gray striped trousers.  He added a spot of color with a bright purple tie.   They both looked fabulous, of course.

Baby, You Can Drive My Car: Kate Middleton’s Car Up For Auction

Can’t stop obsessing about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge?  Now you can take your unhealthy interest in everything Kate Middleton to an even higher level.   A 2001 VW Golf previously owned by the Duchess is up for auction on eBay.

The blue hatchback was first registered to Kate in November 2001.  She passed it down to her brother James Middleton, who then sold it to a neighbor for $2,300.

That guy, Sonny Brazil, has decided he is going to make bank off this humble vehicle.  He’s offering his car to “pre-approved buyers only” for the not-so-humble starting price of  £20,000.   That’s about $33,000 in US dollars.    Which is a bargain, really, when you consider that the car has been valued at about $48,000 by an auction house in the UK.

Sonny says that he believes that this car “will be the best piece of Royal History anyone could have.”   I don’t know if I’d go that far with it, but it would certainly be fun to give it a spin, just to say you did.

Would you bid on Kate’s car?  Drop a comment and tell us!

Kate & Wills Dazzle At The BAFTA Brits To Watch Gala (Photos)

Los Angeles is all abuzz with the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate.  The royal pair were the picture of simple elegance on the red carpet at the BAFTA Brits To Watch Gala, held at the Belasco Theater.

Kate chose another gown by her go-to designer Alexander McQueen for her red carpet walk.  She accessorized with sandals and a clutch by Jimmy Choo.  The Duchess wore her hair down in loose waves and kept her jewelry minimal.  A perfect ensemble, as always.

William wore a classic tuxedo.  (Does anyone care what designer William wears?)

More pictures of Kate and William (well, mostly Kate) after the jump.

Duke Wills & Duchess Kate Arriving In Quebec City, Quebec (Photos)

William and Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are delighting crowds on the Canadian leg of their North American Tour.    Well, OK, they were heckled in Montreal and may have had eggs thrown at them, but most everyone in Canada seems to be loving them.

The royal couple arrived in Quebec City on Sunday morning by boat, landing at Champlain Harbour Station.  They attended a morning prayer service aboard the HMCS Montreal before heading into town for an appearance at City Hall, and a visit to a center for street youth.  William impressed crowds in Quebec by delivering his speeches in French with “no mistakes.”

For the prayer service, Kate wore a dark blue dress by Erdem, a Canadian designer who was born in Montreal – a lovely nod to the locals.

Tina Brown’s Sensationalist Newsweek Cover With Princess Diana & Kate Middleton

Tina Brown knows a good controversy when she sees it and must have been delighted when she saw the finished Newsweek cover with a digitally aged Princess Diana walking with Kate Middleton.

Brown, the former editor of Vanity Fair who’s now helming Newsweek, has re-imagined the late Diana’s look and life for the latest edition.

Diana, who’s 50th birthday would have been this Friday, July 1st, has gotten a very creepy photoshop job and a lame attempt at figuring out what her life would be like now.

Here’s a sample:

“Fashionwise, Diana would have gone the J.Crew and Galliano route à la Michelle Obama, always knowing how to mix the casual with the glam. There is no doubt she would have kept her chin taut with strategic Botox shots and her bare arms buff from the gym. Remarriage? At least two, I suspect, on both sides of the Atlantic.”

Beyond the controversy, Brown gives Diana’s story nothing original – everything she attributes to her if she lived is a rehash of some other famous person’s life.

Diana was someone who led the way and I’d like to think she wouldn’t have lost that edge.

Oh and did I mention Brown’s shameless plug of her own 2007 book about Diana? Terrible Tina has resurfaced.

The Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge: Irish Guards Medal Ceremony (Photos + Video)

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, visited Victoria Barracks in Windsor on Saturday, the UK’s Armed Forces Day.

The couple presented service medals to members of the 1st Battalion Irish Guards Regimen, who returned from a six-month tour in Afghanistan this spring.  They also spoke with and presented posthumous medals to the families of three men who were killed in action.

Kate spent a lot of time talking with the troops about their experiences in the Middle East.   Pvt Nadine Gwendu, said that meeting the Duchess was

“like a dream come true…Now I have seen her, and she has shaken my hand – it is something different.  She was very calm and down to earth, you wouldn’t think she is a duchess because she is so down to earth.”

For her first official military event since becoming Mrs. Prince William, Kate chose a military-inspired, navy blue Alexander McQueen dress with gold buttons and epaulets.  She looked very smart, of course, but very thin.  Katie, your wedding is over, you don’t have to keep losing weight!

Lots of pictures, as well as a video of Kate and Wills visiting with the troops, after the jump.

Prince William & Kate Middleton At The Trooping The Colour Parade

The annual Trooping The Colour parade when Queen Elizabeth‘s birthday is officially celebrated, took place today in London and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took part in this ceremony.

This was Kate Middleton‘s first time to participate as a member of the Royal Family and she shared a carriage with Prince Harry, Prince Andrew and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

Catherine was as stylish as ever in a soft white suit with black fascinator. She looked elegant and poised. Kate seems to have the hang of this fashionable young Royal thing!

Prince William rode a gray horse next to his father, Prince Charles, as part of the military procession before joining his wife and the rest of the family on the balcony. William also wore the traditional bearskin hat and the Irish Guards uniform he wore on his wedding.

Although the Queen’s birthday is April 21st, the celebration takes part in the summer when the weather is better for the outdoor activities.

Even though Queen Elizabeth’s actual birthday was over a month ago (she turned 85 this year) her husband, Prince Phillip celebrated his 90th yesterday and received a new title. The Duke of Edinburgh is now also Lord High Admiral of the navy.

Lots of photos of everyone are under. (Read the article)

The Royals Go To The Races – And Princess Beatrice Wears Another Hat

Gathering together again, the 2011 Epsom Derby brought out quite a few members of The Royal Family as they watched Queen Elizabeth‘s horse run the racecourse.

Prince William and Kate Middleton came with Prince Harry and sister Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie joined their cousins in the afternoon sun.

William, 28, and Harry, 26, both looked very dapper in their classic coattails and top hats and Kate, 29, chose a cream colored outfit with taupe colored fascinator for the racing day.

Speaking of fascinators, Princess Beatrice who received so much criticism for her choice of head covering at the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, chose a much more conservative frilly white and ivory floral number this time around.

Her younger sister, Eugenie, wore a white hat with wide brim and black trim. Both sister looked very chic.

The Queen’s horse, Carlton House, placed third and Kate Middleton’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton were also on hand as they had a horse in the race as well.

Prince Andrew and his father, Prince Phillip watched the races too with their family in the Royal box.

Duke & Duchess Of Cambridge Head Home From Their Honeymoon

Now that the royal honeymoon is over, there’s been official confirmation of where Prince William and Kate Middleton spent the last ten days.  They were, in fact, on the North Island of Seychelles, where, according to St. James Palace, they

“thoroughly enjoyed their time together, and they are grateful to the Seychelles government for their assistance in making the honeymoon such a memorable and special 10 days.”

The island was patrolled by the nation’s coast guard, to ensure the couple’s privacy.  Statements by Seychelles officials indicate that they were more than happy to assist.

“The people of Seychelles are truly honored that Prince William and his wife chose to return to Seychelles for this special holiday and we are proud to have been able to offer them a peaceful and private getaway…In a world of so much turmoil they bring a welcome and much needed breath of fresh air with their warmth and humility…  We hope their stay was everything they had hoped for and we look forward to welcoming them back to our shores again in the future.”

Sounds like a truly idyllic way to celebrate their wedding!
