Adam Levine Tells MTV & The VMAs To Quit Pretending

The 2011 MTV VMAs might be a big deal for most pop music artists but Adam Levine isn’t among those singing their praises.

The Maroon 5 singer has called out the channel for it’s lack of music and videos specifically and thinks it’s pretty ridiculous the cable channel loaded with reality shows is hosting a Video Music Awards.

“the VMA’s. one day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I’m drawing a line in the sand. f— you VMA’s,” he tweeted.

The 32 year-old singer was still standing his ground a day later and said he’s not taking it back.

“Still waiting to have my ‘Jerry Macguire mission statement moment of deep regret …’ Not happening. Phew!”

Even later he continued with a little bit more.

“i may be a pop singer. but every once in a while the angsty teenager in me just blurts out some raw honesty,” he wrote. “it’s a reflex.”

MTV took the opportunity to plug the show and point out Maroon 5 won an award

“Soooo you’ll be tuning in at 9/8C tomorrow right?” the channel responded.

“BTW, bonus points if you Twitpic your 2004 Moonman!”

Levine and Maroon 5 is touring right now with Train and Gavin DeGraw. He is also a coach and mentor on NBC‘s The Voice.

Matt Bellamy & Kate Hudson Debut Photo Of Bingham Hawn

Meet Kate Hudson & Matt Bellamy‘s baby: Bingham Hawn.

Proud dad Bellamy posted a lovely black-and-white photo to twitter of Kate in a make-up free moment of bonding with their one-month old son.

“Family life!” was the concise caption the Muse front man posted with the pic.

Bellamy, 33, and Hudson, 32, became engaged in early spring this year.

The Something Borrowed actress spoke to InStyle magazine about her musician fiancé and why she fell for him.

You always hear people say, ‘I never thought this would be the person I would end up with,’ but I don’t think you ever really know. I love that Matthew knows how to express himself. He shows his love. He communicates,” Hudson said.

What a sweet photo.

Justin Bieber Plays Matchmaker For Kendall Jenner & His Pal

He’s the “Millionaire Matchmaker” of teenagers everywhere – well, all right, just if you’re his friend.

Justin Bieber is giving BRAVO host Patti Stanger a run for her money by using twitter to hook up his pal, Julian Swirsky with another famous teen – Kim Kardashian‘s little sister Kendall Jenner.

The 17 year-old Biebs sent Jenner a tweet proposing the date.

“Hey Kendall Jenner, you should let my boy [Swirsky] take you out on a date ; ).” Justin tweeted.

Swirsky, 16, who is credited with writing and producing with Justin, thought it was a good idea.

“Yeah, I wouldn’t mind that,” he said.

Kendall was also up for the set-up, but wanted some famous company to help break the ice.

“Only if you and @selenagomez join! #DoubleDate,” Jenner said via twitter.

This would be a photographer’s dream – catching a double date between Justin and Selena and Kendall and Julian.

Jenner, 15, is in demand. The high schooler/model/younger sister of the Kardashian clan just signed on to front Australian swimwear designer Leah Madden‘s 2012 Summer campaign for Piroutte.

Roger Ebert’s Tweet About ‘Jackass’ Star Ryan Dunn Enrages Bam Margera & Fans

It wasn’t long after Jackass star Ryan Dunn‘s death behind the wheel of his car was discovered, film critic Roger Ebert waded into twitter with a tweet that angered many of Dunn’s family, friends and fans .

“Friends don’t let jackasses drink and drive,” Ebert posted.

Whether the crash was indeed caused by alcohol or speed (or both) costar and friend Bam Margera was terribly angry in response.

“I just lost my best friend, I have been crying hysterical for a full day and piece of sh** roger ebert has the gall to put in his 2 cents.” he tweeted. (Be warned – Bam’s page is totally uncensored and very adult oriented.)

“About a jackass drunk driving and his is one, f*** you! Millions of people are crying right now, shut your fat f****** mouth!”

Ebert’s Facebook page was littered with hateful and vile responses and was taken down briefly by “The Powers That Be” at Facebook but it has been restored this afternoon.

The 69 year-old film critic chose to address the twitter storm with his blog where he offers heartfelt condolences to Dunn’s family and friends but doesn’t back away from his original statement.

“To begin with, I offer my sympathy to Ryan Dunn’s family and friends, and to those of Zachary Hartwell, who also died in the crash. I mean that sincerely. It is tragic to lose a loved one. I also regret that my tweet about the event was considered cruel. It was not intended as cruel. It was intended as true,” is the beginning of Ebert’s blog.

I believe the point that he missed is simply the tweet was both true and cruel. They are not mutually exclusive.

Of course someone – a friend, family member, bartender, anyone who can – should stop someone from driving drunk. That point did not need to be made at that moment. It changes nothing and helps no one. It only caused controversy.

And while no one is sure yet what the cause of the accident was, Dunn and Hartwell’s family did not need to have salt rubbed into their wounds. The time of immediate, raw pain and grief isn’t going to change anyone’s mind.

And some could argue, perhaps those that need it most will be the most angered and tuned out to the message.

Not every single thing has to be said at that very moment. In some cases, time really is your friend.

Russell Crowe Takes On The Circumcision Debate On Twitter

Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe set off a twitter firestorm as he let loose on the practice of male circumcision.

“Circumcision is barbaric and stupid. Who are you to correct nature? Is it real that GOD requires a donation of foreskin? Babies are perfect,” the actor began.

The 47 year-old persisted with his views as he was both denounced and praised for broaching the hot-button topic.

“Many Jewish friends, I love my Jewish friends, I love the apples and the honey and the funny little hats but stop cutting yr babies,” Crowe added.

“I will always stand for the perfection of babies, I will always believe in God, not man’s interpretation of what God requires.”

“Last of it, if u feel it is yr right 2 cut things off yr babies please unfollow and f— off, I’ll take attentive parenting over barbarism.”

Miranda Lambert Says Her Twitter Remarks Weren’t ‘Mean’ To Christina Aguilera

The competition on The Voice isn’t just between the singers.

Miranda Lambert got a twitter backlashing from Christina Aguilera fans when she responded to a tweet from the “Beautiful” singer.

Aguilera took a poke at her fellow mentors on the show, Adam Levine and Lambert’s hubby, Blake Shelton. After the two had their turn at the mic this week, the 30 year-old star tweeted:

“Was Blake just about to make out w/Adam as he sang that song into his eyes?”

“That was some strange bro-mance s**t! What’s been happening behind the cameras??hmmmmm.”

Lambert responded with a dig of her own, setting off fans.

“@TheRealXtina wow. Calling all males: Please relieve christina from her obvious Frustration before things get….ugly. Team Blake rocks: )” she said on twitter.

“The House That Built Me” singer responded and agreed with a fan who said “It’s cool that Blake treats his team like HIS TEAM and not his background singers. So talented!”

Within minutes of those tweets, Aguilera’s fans were all over Miranda but she was in a fiesty mood.

“jealous bc ur husband said that Christina is THE BEST SINGER HE EVER HEARD? dont be girl,” u should hear what else he said..” (Lambert added the end part.)

In the end the twitter onslaught seems to have been a bit much for the 27 year-old country crooner who tried to back away from her comments.

“Whoa peeps calm it. No one said anything mean about your girl xtina. Just cheering for my hubby:) every competion needs a good cheerleader: )”

Christina hasn’t responded to the jabs, but what do you think? Purposefully mean or an unintentional swipe?

‘Lost’ Showrunner Damon Lindelof Says January Jones’ Acting ‘Sucks’

Twitter comments fly fast and the nastier they are, the more traction they get.

Damon Lindelof, one of the creators of LOST, has taken aim and Mad Men actress January Jones is his target.

Lindelof critiques Jones’ performance in X-Men: First Class as less-than-stellar:

“Emma Frost’s THREE mutant powers: Telepathy, Transformation to Solid Diamond and last but not least, Sucking at Acting,” he tweeted.

Jones hasn’t responded to the remark but it isn’t the first time she’s been publicly taken to task.

Comedian Zach Galifianakis has spoken about her icy demeanor and how he told her off.

“I sit at her table,” the Hangover star said, “and talk for 10 minutes, and she goes, ‘I think it’s time for you to leave now.’ So I say, ‘January, you are an actress in a show and everybody’s going to forget about you in a few years, so f—ing be nice,’ and I got up and left.”

PHOTO: Justin Bieber Gives Girlfriend Selena Gomez A Foot Massage

The hot teen couple of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are being pretty open about their romance despite some JB fans giving the Disney actress a hard time online.

Bieber, 17, and Gomez, 18, have been in Hawaii vacationing together and haven’t been shy about kissing in front of the cameras.

Now a new photo, posted by a fan on twitter, shows the adorable twosome relaxing together with Justin tending to his gal.

The Baby singer is seen shirtless, wearing an OBEY cap and sitting next to Gomez on the couch while giving her tired feet a little massage.

Fan @AdorableJelena put the photo up and tweeted:

“New jelena pic and is justin rubbing selena’s feet? xD”

As expected, some Beliebers went off the deep end and continued posting hateful messages to Selena, including wanting her to die and various awful threats.

Glad to see the viciousness isn’t having the desired effect and that the two continue to be happy teenagers.

Working hard to improve her outlook on her self, Demi Lovato posted a photo she took of herself in a bikini to bolster self-confidence.

“I’ve been working so hard to get healthy and fit.. I can’t believe I’m about to do this but I’m so excited..” she said via twitter.

Pittsburg Steeler’s Rashad Mendenhall Gets Flack For Bin Laden Twitter

First it spread across the internet, then President Obama confirmed it Sunday evening that Osama bin Laden was killed in a raid in Abbottabad, Pakistan by the US Military.

As people heard the news, spontaneous celebrations broke out across the United States and many people sent tweets regarding it as happy news.

Pittsburg Steelers running back Rashad Mendenhall thinks that no one should rejoice when someone is killed, no matter who or what they’ve done.

The football star sent out a couple of tweets causing a stir.

“What kind of person celebrates death? It’s amazing how people can HATE a man they have never even heard speak. We’ve only heard one side…” Mendenhall said.

The second one (which is now deleted) is certainly ripe fodder for conspiracy theorists.

“We’ll never know what really happened.  I just have a hard time believing a plane could take a skyscraper down demolition style.”

And with the ability to send out a message to the world in 140 characters or less, Mendenhall moved himself to the front of the pack of people who incur the wrath of the public.

The Steelers aren’t having it either. On the team’s website, Steelers president Art Rooney II released a statement, (which also seems to have been deleted.)

“I have not spoken with Rashard so it is hard to explain or even comprehend what he meant with his recent Twitter comments,” Rooney said. “The entire Steelers’ organization is very proud of the job our military personnel have done and we can only hope this leads to our troops coming home soon.”

I don’t understand why people/organizations bother deleting these things. It’s not like screenshots aren’t taken or replies sent via twitter. It’s meaningless.
