Looks pretty cool, hopefully the movie will be as good as the poster makes it look. The most recent version of the trailer certainly doesn’t make it look that way. Great book though!

Oh, the pressures of being a a celebrity mom. Uma Thurman, who has two kids, daughter, Maya, 11, and Levon, seven with her ex-husband Ethan Hawke, puts pressure on herself to be the perfect mom. Especially when it comes to her children’s birthdays.
“I get caught up in the birthday party situation… I had a pirate party for my son and I designed this cake myself….
“I cut the cake up, pass it around, and one boy turns to my son and says, ‘Brown sugar, that’s disgusting!’ And my son, who I’d hyped up with so much effort, just fell apart crying. What the hell are you going to do about it? I try too hard.
“In the end, there’s all the hysteria, the desperate effort, that create an overdoing, so that makes someone else resentful, so that they to turn to a 6-year-old and say, ‘Your cake sucks.’ Of course, I overdid it a bit. As my mother said, my name should be “Overdo It Uma.” I never feel like I’ve done enough.”
I wonder if Hollywood families could ever just get away with buying a sheet cake from the local grocery store. Put on a few candles, and there you have it. Birthday cake! I doubt it. There are too many mommies like Uma out there trying to overdo it, and possibly outdo the other kids’ parties.

Uma Thurman has been cast in a new upcoming film Ceremony.
Uma Thurman has joined the cast of the romantic comedy “Ceremony” for Nala Films says Variety.
Michael Angarano plays a young man who falls for an older woman (Thurman) who is about to get married. Polly Cohen Johnsen, Matt Spicer, Darlene Caamano Loquet and Emilio Diez Barroso will produce.
I love Uma Thurman but I wish she would take on some gritty roles again, she does too many romantic comedies nowadays.

Uma Thurman sounds wholesome to the core in her interview for October 2009’s W Magazine. The photoshoot, however, tells a different story. Uma might be 39 years old, but she’s still got it! I love her. I wish she made more movies these days, but she seems very busy with her children. Enjoy the photos, and these excerpts from the interview.
On her upcoming movie, Motherhood:
“I took the script with me on a night flight to England, thinking I’d read just a little bit of it, but I just fell in love with the writing. I was screaming out loud laughing…It was so real and so honest about how hard it is to be a mother and also a full person who’s true to herself. It was like seeing five years of my life.”
On the drama around ex-husband Ethan Hawke and his mistress, nanny Ryan Shawhughes:
“As someone once said, no new damage, that’s all you can do. Be positive and move forward…You kind of owe it to your children to not leave a lot of mess. They didn’t ask for it, and they don’t need to hear about it.”
On getting older:
“I can’t say my 30s were the easiest time. And I had thought my 20s were hard! … I’ve certainly learned the hard way. And that’s kind of nice, to realize that just when you think you’ve figured it out, life surprises you.”
On when she’s going to marry fiance Arpad Busson:
“I’m happily engaged, but we haven’t set a wedding up. I’m not in a rush to do anything. One day we’ll do it, when we’re ready.”

I’ve read the book, and its actually very good. This movie doesn’t look like it even begins to do it justice. Not to mention the trailer really doesn’t give much away in terms of what the story actually consists of.

In Manhattan, a mother of two preparing for her daughter’s sixth birthday party has no idea of the challenges she’s about to face in order to pull off the event.
Thurman is awesome and I’d watch pretty much anything she stars in, but this is one of those pics I’m not so sure about.

Brosnan and Thurman are joining the cast of the upcoming film Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.
Pierce Brosnan, Uma Thurman, Sean Bean, Kevin McKidd and Melina Kanakaredes are set to play various key figures of Greek mythology in Chris Columbus’ fantasy adventure “Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief” for Fox 2000 says the trades.
Based on Rick Riordan’s best-selling children’s novel, the story follows Poseidon’s half-human son, Percy, who’s on a quest across modern America to prevent a war among the gods.
Sounds like a fun concept, there aren’t many movies that explore the incredibly deep mythology of Greece.

Minnie Driver was at the screening of the next movie she is starring in, Motherhood, last night at the Sundance Film Festival. She was pregnant when she filmed it so it’s neat to finally see it on the screen. It also stars Uma Thurman and Anthony Edwards.
I have to say…I never really like Minnie before. But since I followed her through her pregnancy I have to say I like her better now. She looks so radiant and happy now that she has her baby Henry! And I guess that’s all that really counts in the end. Is how happy you are.

Did you have any doubt that diamonds are a girls best friend? Actress Uma Thurman is engaged to her Swiss multimillionaire boyfriend, Arpad Arki Busson, who reportedly gave her an impressive diamond ring.
In return for saying yes, the actress received some serious sparkle: an 8-plus carat center stone surrounded by 20 smaller stones. “It’s the most beautiful piece I’ve ever seen,” says a close source of the diamond ring. “Arki did a wonderful job.”

According to Page Six, the Kill Bill hottie was out with her ex-hubby Ethan Hawke yesterday visiting their children at school.
The pair, who were married for six years but divorced in 2004, met up yesterday afternoon at the school of their children, nine-year-old Maya and Levon Roan, 6. Having seen those kinds of forms before ourselves, we think it looks like parent-teacher conference week in Lower Manhattan.
Hawke recently knocked up his Uma-look-alike nanny Ryan Shawhughes.
