Yvonne Buschbaum, a German Olympic athlete that competed at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, has become one of the first celebrities to acknowledge in public she will undergo a sex change process. Buschbaum plans to become a man, according to her website.

Buschbaum is a Track and Field star who placed sixth at the Pole Vault race in the Australian Olympics. She said she always felt like a man, and she will retire in order to be able to go through a hormone treatment that would have been impossible to get if she was still competing.

While certainly one of the first high profile athletes to declare such intentions, Buschbaum is not the first athlete to want or get a sex change.�A few years ago, Indonesian�boxer Parinya Charoenphol�underwent surgery and treatment to become a woman. Her case caused great controversy in the boxing world because of fears she would be unfairly equipped if she decided to participate in�women’s boxing.

Yvonne Buschbaum must be held for her courage and bravery in a world of sports where�LGBT issues are still seen as taboo. Not very long ago, NFL star Junior�Seau did some negative comments after a former San Diego Chargers teeammate came out, after all, and that attitude is still prevalent around� the world and magnified in sports.

If Buschbaum wants to have a sex change, I say,�more power to the future him! It’s her right to be who she-he wants to be, just like it is my right to go to Taco Bell and eat a burrito or to buy a egg-yellow shirt at K-Mart if I want to and�nobody has the right�to prohibit me from doing so, although I would be commiting fashion suicide if I did buy a egg-yellow shirt. �So she is allowed to do it, and I hope her well for the rest of her life.

Medically speaking, there is a lot of ignorance when it comes to sex change operations. The medical field has come a long way covering this issue since the first sex change was performed in 1930. Today, many male to female transexuals look more�and more like natural born girls than ever. Recently at an HBO documentary, I saw a Hawaiian transexual woman who could be hired by Jennifer Lopez to be a personal decoy�because she looks so much like J. Lo. �Not only that, but the risks concerning these types of surgeries are large.

Male to female transexuals are at great risk of�developing breast cancer because of the current technology used to grow breasts. The risks involvimg female to male patients are unknown but there has to be some health risk to that operation too. The sole action of changing one’s hormones itself carries great risk, because the human body does not like adapting to new things.

Ivonne Buschbaum has claimed that she did not undertake any hormone treatments during her athletic career because that is banned in her sport.

Last week I posted Simon Cowell’s comment about the sex scandal involving Britain’s Got Talent contestants, The Kit Kat Dolls.� (View post here).� Today I received� a reply from a member of the group:

My name is Nat Udom and I am a member of The Kit Kat Dolls. After the news, We were VERY sad and crying to lose the GREAT opportunity to be something that the society would have accepted us more in the positive way. It was NOT fair on the honest working band members like myself and others who had worked SO hard to get there and then our dreams shattered by JUST one member. Those 2 members ( Toni and Alex ) had told us about their past and we accepted them because we believed that if we could improve the lives of Toni and Alex to be better then we ( as the human beings) definitely would do that. I personally think that every single one of us should give the opportunity to people who are less fortunate than the ones who are lucky, don�t you think? Every single one of us should learn how to love and care to others and willing to improve lives of some people to be better with what we can. However, We were asking the ITV producers to let the rest of us ( 6 members ) to continue the show, but they refused us. We started to cry as soon as ITV producers said that the whole band had to be punished which was VERY unfair for the rest of the group. We live in the year of 2007 with democracy but we were treated with something which is NOT democracy. Well, well, well�for once we have an artist whose exploits are usually left to be showcased on her works instead of her actions after work. As much as that may be difficult because everybody either loves the exploits by people like Madonna, Britney, Kiss or Hector Camacho or envies them for having the guts enough to live without caring about what others think, we still have people like Jon Secada, Enrique Iglesias, Creed and Laila Ali, who carry themselves in an unworthy way privately while still showcasing their best efforts publicly, thus allowing their talents to get all the public interest�s focus. One of the latter artists is Stella McCartney. The wildly desired by yours truly designer is the daughter of my favorite musician of all times, former Beatles singer and guitarist-banjo-tuba etc., etc player Paul McCartney and his late wife, Linda, ms. Stella McCartney. Born in London, Stella McCartney has shown far more talent than, say, other Beatle children like Julian Lennon.

Three people were killed in a plane crash at Mountain Air Country Club in Burnsville, NC yesterday.�

Two victims were doctors at St. Petersburg, Florida, General Hospital. The hospital told the St. Petersburg Times they were Freddy Camuzzi and Charles Freeble the Third. The name of the third victim hasn’t been released.

Authorities say the plane bounced on landing at�the private mountain airstrip, hit two other planes and burst into flames.

I began my real estate career at Mountain Air and still have many friends there.� I currently work for another private community in Western North Carolina.� Although I didn’t know the two victims who’s names have been released, this really hits close to home.�

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected.

The owner of an upscale steakhouse in Louisville said he asked O.J. Simpson to leave his restaurant the night before the Kentucky Derby because he is sickened by the attention Simpson still attracts.

“I didn’t want to serve him because of my convictions of what he’s done to those families,” Jeff Ruby said in a telephone interview Tuesday. “The way he continues to torture the lives of those families … with his behavior, attitude and conduct.”
