Jason Bateman Joins Vince Vaughn for ‘Insane Laws’

Jason Bateman is set to join Vince Vaughn in the upcoming comedy Insane Laws.

Universal Pictures is in early talks with Jason Bateman to star with Vince Vaughn in The Insane Laws…

…The plan is for Bateman and Vaughn to play longtime best friends, who’ve shared everything, from college to the time both got married and had kids at the same time. Cut to when those kids are away at college, and, unbeknownst to their parents, falling in love. The best friend relationship is sorely tested when the daughter of Vaughn’s character gets pregnant. The actors just did a read-through of the material, and it could be in production by the fall.

This storyline doesn’t seem all that compelling or funny, but the duo of Vaughn and Bateman could be a great formula for this comedy. It just seems like there is some kind of additional hook that this movie needs to have to bring in the audience, maybe they are just holding off on release of too much information before everything gets locked down. I’m sure we’ll hear a lot more info as the film draws closer to shooting.

Ron Howard Talks About The Gay Joke – It’s Staying Put

People have gotten their panties all in  bunch over a “gay” joke that was in the trailer for Ron Howard’s latest flick, The Dilemma.  The joke has since been cut from the promotional trailer but it’s going to remain in the film, as it should.

Vince Vaughn – ‘The Dilemma’ Trailer Is Hilarious

Howard explained to The LA Times,

“[Vaughn's character] has a mouth that sometimes gets him into trouble and he definitely flirts with the line of what’s okay to say. He tries to do what’s right but sometimes falls short. Who can’t relate to that?

Howard writes that it was “appropriate” to remove the scene from ads “in light of some events that surrounded the release of the trailer,” referring to the recent, tragic spate of gay teen suicides. “The Dilemma is a comedy for grown-ups, not kids,” Howard says. ”We never expected [the joke] to represent our intentions or the point of view of the movie or those of us who made it.  I don’t strip my films of everything that I might personally find inappropriate.  Comedy or drama, I’m always trying to make choices that stir the audience in all kinds of ways. I defend the right for some people to express offense at a joke as strongly as I do the right for that joke to be in a film. But if storytellers, comedians, actors and artists are strong armed into making creative changes, it will endanger comedy as both entertainment and provoker of thought.”

If we start trying to remove everything that offends anyone, we will have nothing left.  Every movie out there is going to have something that will offend someone watching it.  Guess what?  That’s life.  You can take it away.  You have to learn to deal with it and gain some self control while you’re at it.  Or you could just go live in a bubble.

Happy Halloween!

Vince Vaughn – ‘The Dilemma’ Trailer Is Hilarious

Just watched the trailer for The Dilemma and now I can’t wait for it to hit theaters in January.  This romantic comedy has a great and rather unusual cast.  Ron Howard directs Vince Vaughn, Jennifer Connelly, Kevin James, Wynona Ryder, Queen Latifah, and Channing Tatum (yum!) in a funny story about the brotherhood of friendship.

Winona Ryder Versus Vince Vaughn

Sometimes the truth really hurts, so should you hide it?

Check out The Dilemma trailer below: (Read the article)

Winona Ryder Versus Vince Vaughn

Winona Ryder

Adding her considerable charm and talent to the latest Ron Howard directed comedy, Winona Ryder beat out a number of other high profile actresses to become the female lead in the movie (formerly known as) Cheaters. Ryder came away the victor after beating out Carla Gugino, Kate Beckensale and Uma Thurman.

Why is the role so coveted? Well it turns out the film is no tried-and-true fat guy/hot wife comedy. Rather, the movie, from screenwriter Allan Loeb (21), centers on two best friends, played by [Kevin] James and [Vince] Vaughn. When Vaughn’s character discovers that James’ wife (Ryder) has cheated on his best friend, he confronts her directly and must decide whether or not he will tell his friend. (Thus, the film often pits Ryder’s character opposite Vaughn’s.)

Looking forward to Ryder and Vaughn going at each other on the big screen.

Ryder will also be in Black Swan with Natalie Portman.

Vince Vaughn Marries The Love Of His Life, Kyla Weber (PHOTOS)

Vince Vaughn Marries Kyla Weber Photos

Vince Vaughn is officially off the market ladies.  He married his (real estate agent) Canadian girlfriend Kyla Weber on Saturday (January 2).  The happy couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony with just close friends and family in attendance in Chicago.

Vince proposed to Kyla on Valentine’s Day after dating for less than a year.  How romantic is that?  I think we will be seeing a baby bump sooner than later, Vince is ready for kids!

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Vince Vaughn Is Psyched To Get Married

vince vaughn

Vince Vaughn has long been one of Hollywood’s perpetual bachelors. He may have occasionally hooked up with actresses (Jennifer Aniston anyone?) but he had never settled down for too long. That is until now. Vince is now engaged to Kyla Webber, a real estate agent from Canada.

He says, “I met her through a friend, which was nice. And she’s a civilian, which is good.

“I’m excited. It’s all going to change. I’m psyched about it.”

I find it so interesting that a man who has been so private for most of his career, including the time he was dating Jennifer Aniston, is now talking up his engagement. Just in time for his couple themed movie, Couples Retreat. Wow, what a coincidence!

Tropical ‘Couples Retreat’ Trailer

couplesretreat

Here’s the first trailer for the upcoming film Couples Retreat starring Vince Vaughn, Jon Favreau, Kristen Bell, Jason Bateman, Kristin Davis and Faizon Love.

I’m not jumping out of my seat on this one, but it seems like it could be pretty funny. It’s a pretty good cast, just not the most fresh concept. It reminds me a little bit of an old episode of I Love Lucy.
